Very informative video! I gather you have the electric PTO. I have avoided removing the deck because I bought a Mojack lift. My fabricated deck stays fairly clean. I do change my blades every season. If they can be sharpened, cleaned, and balanced, I will reuse them. Definitely, removing the deck is something every Cub Cadet owner should know how to do.
I have the LT50 Cub Cadet with the 50 inch cut...I have never had to remove the deck to change out blades...just pull it onto ramps and in 10 minutes I have all 3 blades replaced...10 minute job 15 tops...taking the deck off is a whole lot of time for the same result.
Well done video showing all the important angles of the job. Should inspire others to remove their decks and paint them to greatly enhance the life of the deck. As a very long in the tooth operator, I'd like to offer some comments, not as criticism, but as hard learned lessons from years of home ownership. Regarding the blades; sharpening blades a couple times during a season based on wear, is desirable for the benefit of the lawn. Grass will look better and be healthier with a clean cut as opposed to a ragged cut with dull blades. Also on tightening of the nuts on the blades; I also use an impact wrench because it works really well especially for removal of blades. The specs on these nuts calls for approximately 90 ft lbs of torque. Impact wrenches need to be used wisely or you will end up needing a new spindle.
Wish mine was this easy… mallet doesn’t budge them and I don’t have an impact. Do I have any other options or am I stuck with the old blades for the rest of my life?
This is ridiculous !!! *unplug spark plugs (for safety) *jack front end up *use short piece of wood to keep blades from turning and remove nuts. Take old blades off. *put new blades on. *lower front end *done
He thoroughly cleaned the underside, used his angle grinder to rid some of the rust and then painted it to prolong the life of the deck. Sit down, Jimmy Shade.

I did learn the square hole trick thanks,previosly i used a socket on the the tension wheel to pull it to get belt on ,square hole makes good sense.

Sorry I missed this, use a longer bar on the socket, like a three foot bar.
