Nice setup that you have. If one has a ditch in their property you can straddle (the lawn tractor being perpendicular to the ditch--if the ditch is small enough) it with your lawn tractor, which will give you plenty of clearance to remove & install the blades. Some put theirs on blocks which is not as good as having a ditch, IMHO. Of course the ditch should be dry when you do this!

I just jack mine up and hit the nuts with my impact rattle gun. No need to jam blades to get the torque to crack em. Put bolts back with socket and breaker bar. Then one or two thwacks with rattle gun to tighten. Not too much. Way quicker, my grounds boulder covered so I change blades alot.

Great! Thanks I like the video and I will return to watch again and again. Now if I want to take the blades off without taking the deck, I have to build a ramp? One project always leads to more projects and I never have the right tools. I do like your ramps, though. If I have to replace the belt I will need to remove the deck. I think your dog was listening to you, so just send her down to Florida and maybe she can do the job for me.

During re-installing of the blades. You made no mention as to the position of them to where they were exactly... doesn't that matter for balance during rotation as well? I was taught to put the on 1/2 turn from each other. In other words..
One pointing front to back, one side to side. And on the 1054 3 blade decks 1/3 rotation of each other.
Am I wrong? Does it matter?great channel and videos. Sub'd &bell rang.

I have question I'm hoping you can give some guidance on... I bought a used SLTX 1054VT. The day I picked it up it was very quick. Also, with the mower deck up and eventually taken off to fit into a trailer (54' deck) I could see that the main drive belt was in need of replacement. So, I put a new cub belt on it. Also, I decided to replace all the drive belt pulleys with bearings. However, for some reason now the mower is slow.
The new belt was installed perfectly. The spring and tension pulley are keeping it tight. Double check with the Cadet dealer & service center near my house to make sure. But they can't take it in for 4 weeks because they're booked. Are there things I can do myself to solve what's causing g this, or improve my speed? I bought this purposely for the V-Twin power & it's abilities to move effortlessly on gentle hill slopes. Just 2 weeks ago. I haven't been able to mow yet...after hundreds of $ spent.
      Maybe
      Fluid replacement?
      Tighter tension spring?
      Hoping you can help

@@ragtie6177 I think I had a similar problem with my old cub cadet. I know why it happened to mine. I put the wrong size belt on. Maybe that is your problem. Hope this helps

At this point it's just simpler to just pay 30 euros to the nearest repairman to come pick up the lawn rider, take it back to his garage, service everything and sharpen the blades and bring it back. Especially when the owner doesn't have most of these tools.

That's what I was going to say, last time I checked around here (4 years ago) it was $80 USD to get the blades sharpened at a shop. If you snag the tools, just DIY. @@patdinan1085 I'm throwing the mulching blades on mine.
