    FluTe, not fluke- a drill bit has flutes, a fluke is a seldom seen occurrence. Two royal flush hands in a row are a fluke 😂

    I never liked the plastics they used. It always felt like there was too much friction while doing the twisting of the assembly necessary to make the cuts.

    Don't know who you are, but I like ya ! I got an '83 cx650 custom a month ago. I can't spend 400 to have 20 dollar seals put in. Decades ago, I did all my own work on my Triumphs....I'm 66 now, and I'm going to have to get her done. Looks like a pain, but like you said...just jump in the water and swim.It'll be fun ! Thinking of Bruce Willis's line in Die Hard...."Come to the coast; we'll have a few laughs". I will tell you this as a return favor, though. A guy who owns a bone yard said to get that ethanol gas outa my bike and buy clear gas.(86 octane,no ethanol)(it crystalizes and eats stuff) I pumped out all my old gas ,put the clear in with a shot of Stabil. The bike idled for a while, hacked and coughed and went Vrooom ! So I took it for a ride. Wow. It never felt like 64 horses before - oh it does now. Yeah, a bike from the 80's doesn't need corn; doesn't like corn. She's got her oats now. And what else is amazing...her cold starts. Cold weather, cold bike, full choke, key,button...vroom, just like that. Amazing. My Triumphs were first kick. Now, so's my Honda. Thanks.

    Mine is a hand me down, same model as yours. I was never taught how to actually use is. Sometimes I'd have success and sometimes I'd end up making the whole drill bit nearly flat if I didn't have it aligned right. I was trying to align it manually because i didn't realize that thing on the side was for getting proper alignment! Thank you sir.

    Excellent instructions to assist us to do it ourselves. Looking to do the same and paint the lowers as you've done, on two Customs I have - one just bought and the other been sitting in my shed for 20+ years. And on the sitting one, the forks had just been done poorly by a shop just before it stopped running. The guy tapped some breather hole with drain hose in the top cap bolt. I can't recall the reason, but it leaked. So I will definitely be doing them myself.

    Man are you doping that the hard way. Take the head apart to get all the old string out and put it back together. Line up the line on the winder and push the string IN from the outside and it will seat in place. Turn the feeder until the right length is sticking out and rock and roll dude. If it's a tad long it will self cut to the right length and you're back at work. Get good line...or you'll b changing it every 30 seconds.

    Very informative video! I gather you have the electric PTO. I have avoided removing the deck because I bought a Mojack lift. My fabricated deck stays fairly clean. I do change my blades every season. If they can be sharpened, cleaned, and balanced, I will reuse them. Definitely, removing the deck is something every Cub Cadet owner should know how to do.

    Nice video. About masking off the tyre: I've heard of a method where you put a small bit of hand grease (the stuff you put on your hands when they're dried out) right around the edges of the rim. This is easier to curve around the rim than with masking tape and you can easily wash it off with some soap and water after you've painted the wheel. Haven't tried it myself yet but it does sound like a solid method.

    • @rebuildranch1225
      @rebuildranch1225 Рік тому
