Not sure what state has it worst but as far as I know in California as long as the plate is visible in front it does need to be on the bumper I put my plate on the inside windshield. I'm not about to drill or stick anything on my bumper an ruin it payed to much to do that... been pulled over a few times an even had cops next to me they never say anything about it as long as they can see it they don't care..
can you give me an recent update if you got a ticket for having a plate inside the windshield? I like in the bay area of CA in the city and i'm sure they won't let that slide.
I live in Ohio and we don't require front license plates. Our front bumpers on cars look good with being plain or a decoration plate. Sorry that the state of Maryland you live requires 2. While neighboring Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Deleware don't require front license plates. I'm hoping one day Maryland will join other states in eliminating the front license plate requirement.
I do t see that happening anytime soon. They only real benefit of front plates is that it gives you an extra chance to get a plate on the recording if someone does something stupid.
Dang. Well I hope one day it'll happen soon. Cause Alaska just got rid of there front license plate requirement 4 months ago and hopefully more states will join. It saves the states money, not damaging people's vehicles drilling holes, better looks and less metal being created. With new technology officers still find other ways with cameras and lasers and still catch stupid people from the rear plate.
Get a removable one like Ottoplate or QuickBandit so you can clean behind it and a front bumper impact won't press the plate into the car.

Thanks dude, I just received my plates, had to ruin mine as well. Was easy though.
It grows on you over time.
If you applied vinyl under where the plate rests that could have saved the paint. In case you ever want to sell the car one day
Great idea.
They just pulled me over last night. Time to ruin my car soon.
Bummer.
nicely done. I shall ruin my Y now.
Ha. Enjoy your new car!
Might be a dumb question but can you take it off? (Without ruining the paint)
You should be able to with a bit of heat and some time.

@@seanhanna2940 Yup. I kind of like what California is trying with the vinyl front plate option. It just sticks on.
@@NathanNagele I did hear about that. I saw that on some bumpers in California but the sticker to me it just doesn't look right still lol.
Is the adhesive strong enough to hold even when driving at highway speeds?
Yes. It’s very valuable. There should be no worries about it coming off once it’s applied
@@NathanNagele what about in carwash? I wash mine quite often.. will it come off?
Do you know where I can buy a licence plate holder for an European plate?
I don’t. I would check with your local Tesla service center or their online store.
So it’s completely held up by the adhesive, correct? (It’s not hooked on the grill, correct?) It won’t fall off?
Correct. It's what comes standard with the car. The adhesive is very solid.
just go without license plates smh they wont notice if you go fast
They have been cracking down in my area. Apparently only 1 in 10 Tesla’s have front plates attached. It’s a $75 fine for not having them.
Background music annoying AF
What do you think about the slipstream Tesla license plates?
I like it but I don’t feel it improves the look enough to justify the cost.
Do you know if i can just put my license plate on my dash? I would hate to ruin my brand new tesla ):
No idea. They do sell kits that clip on to the air intakes under the bumper but I wasn’t sold on them.
How to order it
It comes with the car.
good
Fucking California
Maryland
Texas too
Washington too. Will have to ruin my new baby soon.
Mother flunking IL too!
MA, too.
