Never apologise dude. Steven's music tends to really make you feel every moment and it resonates with me a lot. He's such a unique songwriter and musician. Such a lovely guy to talk with too. His rabbit hole is deep, theres so much to duscover and feel in his discography.
My deepest condolences for you.
P.S Drive Home is another of his masterpiece videos 😊
Ya I plan on diving into more. Appreciate you brother!
Sorry for your loss and may your sister RIP!
thanks friend.
Grieve is such an important part of life. We are used to hide it away. To let people see your grieve and feel your deepest sadness. It opens up our hearts. Thank you for this unexpected an unintentional gift. It will stay with me this day. Stay safe my friend, you are a gem.
We are healing together.❤
There's another grief related vid of his......Drive Home......As effective as the two you have watched....Then there is his live performances with other masterful musicians to see, which can be found on youtube, which are......Ancestral......Luminol......
And....The watchmaker...A must watch live!...And also his band...Porcupine Tree....also a must watch live, and available on youtube
Concur with drive home. Of the three this one has the most real life relatibility to me and the hardest to watch.
Raven ❤💔 Tommy, sorry for your loss, Brother.. I love these songs precisely because they make me feel. If I shut off, I become that old man.. "I'm afraid to wake, I'm afraid to love"
No.. the darkness won't come for me yet. Nor for you.. Extra ❤❤ and extra ✌️✌️to you and to all!
Dude...I never expected to open these parts of me up
My deepest condolences for your loss. Me myself lost two brothers back in 1998 in 8 months apart at the age of 20 and 21 respectively both in a car accidents, so I can relate to your emotions and tears. Tears are purging and relieving for the broken heart and suffering soul.
Wow... just wow... It's wonderful to see a song i've known for guite a long time, through anothers eyes. Steven's music is so inventive and... let's be honest... not all of it is this deep... He admits himself that his songs have an English melancholy about them but the majority are uplifting I promise.. Especially the Porcupine Tree stuff. I love that you are going on to do some Porcupine Tree... but can I just say that the live versions onf both Steven's solo and Porcupine Tree work is well worth a watch... You can't believe that 5 guys get the songs so spot on, the quality of their musicianship is that good... I always go for a live version if I can.
Oh yes... you have another subscriber... Keep on Rocking.
It tore me up inside. I'm glad I listened because there were many truths there. I will not listen to it again.
❤
I personally think the word genius is tossed around too easily these days...... but I believe Steven Wilson is truly a genius....welcome to this amazing rabbit hole....
Oh, hes a genius
I felt deeply that you're an empath as I'm one myself ❤ I'm really sorry about your sister.
Appreciate the kind words
try watchmaker from him. live version is wonderful. he writes so much great melodies and concepts.
Im sorry about your sister Tommy,i lost my sister as well, and nothing makes us feel more alone than death. This video did a really good job telling the story and making the audience feel it. As a song, i think this guy can really sing. He reminds me of someone, but i can not put my finger on who. This had a lot of heart to it.
There are times when songs transcend notes and melodies and become a spiritual experience in a way.
This song, Routine, Drive Home, and Pariah (live with Ninet Tayeb) all get me bad😭😢
Steven really has a way with crafting and sharing emotion🙏🧝
Yea he has been wrecking me lately!
Never feel sorry to be human.
we never learn to grieve. That's new each and every time, and a new suffering with it. But we survive, and learn something else. We are here for you when necessary, I hope you know it
Thanks sage!❤
You don't have to apologize man.
Music touches you deep within.
sensitive people are good
PS: damn dude for stringing together two titles like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am proud to be a subscriber ;)
I swear, I'm going to end up boycotting Steve Wilson videos if he keeps making me cry! So good, so emotional, and just... just wow.
THIS WAS SO ROUGH
As I wrote in the first reaction, Steven Wilson has many faces, and by no means always sad. But always deep. Keep watching please, it’s worth it.
porcupine tree - ariving somewhere but not here
I lost a little brother to muscular dystrophy. I understand the pain. Sorry for your loss
Sending you love friend!
Well done. This has tons of emotion, and I could tell it was going to get you. Tommy, keep being a legend.
Appreciate you brother.
Now you have to try Drive home by Steve. Maybe the best of the bunch. Makes me cry as well and topped off with a sublime guitar solo. One of my favorite all time tracks.
Woah.. I was just getting ready to request this. Good call Tommy. This is a gem. This is my favorite Steven Wilson song, and it's hard because there is so much good stuff.
Listening now (yes I commented before listening, I couldn't wait)
Freaking appreciate you dude so much
Kudos again Wolff. Dont forget to watch and listen to these 2 tracks LIVE from Steven Wilsons 2018 Home Invasion DVD at the Royal Albert Hall. Tears all over again watching him and his unbelievable band play and live the emotion of these tracks.
Can I suggest another with offical video is Perfect Life!
That concert was sublime.
This hit hard. We are so sorry for your loss, my friend. I feel your grief. In the video, the feelings of immeasurable loss, compounded by being alone, were overwhelming. This prospect is terrifying and the creeping shadow of darkness that threatens to engulf us is very real. This is why it is important that we make and keep friends that we can truly connect with and count on in the dark times. You are not alone. Please know that we are here for you as we know that you are here for us.
Well said dude. I was not ready for the contents of this song. Thanks so much for the love and friendship.
Steven's music is so deep we can relate in several aspects of it. Grieving somebody we deeply love is not an easy process and it can swallow us whole if we stare the abyss for too long.
I am truly sorry for your loss,Tommy. And I'm thankful you felt safe enough to share that with us all.
All the feels not only from the song but from you. Always here for ya cosmic.
This song and many other grief related music and or videos always hit so hard. Bring me back to moments with some family I've lost mostly my grandma who passed away a few years ago. It definitely felt like I was swallowed whole and couldn't go on at times. Depression hit hard for a year and if it wasn't for my kids, hubby, and my papa I wouldn't have been able to get out of the rut I got into from it. Plus having you and many others I talked to hung out with and chatted with when I felt so lonely helped me so much. Your amazing :) ❤
Misty thanks so much for opening up. Im so glad you are here.
Thank you sharing your grief. I hope that in doing so, you can heal a little bit. This song is my favorite off of one of my top 5 all time albums. The whole album is about death and loss in one form or another. I found this album when I was grieving the loss of my daughter, and led to several cathartic moments.
Ya I wanna grab this album.
What a song. I'm glad I watched this after work instead of my break 😭. Thank you for sharing about your sister, I know it can't be easy. Take care buddy. ♥
Dude, what a heavy song
This is absolutely amazing , so gentle. Lots of grief here, suffering is a huge problem, but we always can handle it..i hope people have the strength enough for certain things.. thank you very much ❤
Much love dear friend. It can be hard to let go of things.
Think in other way... sometimes we try to keep certain things that isn't for us...better let it go....we must learn not suffering ❤
Another wonderful song from Steven Wilson is " Perfect Life" or " Drive Home". My deepes condolences bro. Iv had a good friend who died at 18 in a accident. . I know exactly the feeling and its so hard.
So sorry about your sister. I lost many friends too, but fortunately never someone close in the family.
Now you have to do Drive Home too. Be prepared.
Yea, I may wait a min for that. Thanks for being here friend.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody you are not alone. Try some Pain of Salvation if you are into strong lyrics and wonderful music. A Trace of Blood woud be a good start. Cheers from Portugal.
Just found your channel. Great content, thank you very much!
Sorry for your loss and my condolences for you.
I've listened to this song since it came out and this was the first time it made me cry for real! I am sorry for your loss!!! :(
Much love friend.
btw. from the three ones he has on top, u need to do drive home. this are the three classics from steven
wow, that was utterly sad, like "routine" it hits really hard. i have been to my sisters funeral every night, for years. the video perfectly displays this mental state. i see her with every picture of me, in every mirror. but i've worked myself through this grief and now it feels different. and it looks different.
never be sorry for being emotional!
one of he's greatest solo songs for me. remember watching this song live in oslo with my best friend who sadly passed away a year ago. I cannot express how much i love stevens music and whatit has ment to me and my dear friend
oh dude thank you for sharing. I love how music reminds us of things.
You should react to Steven Wilson collaboration with Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth. The video is Drag Ropes and the project is called Storm Corrosion. The video is animated in the same fashion as Routine is. Also, the animated video by Opeth called Universal Truth is also amazing. And again, Collapse the light into Earth by Porcupine Tree is my favourite song of all time. Cheers
I second this. Storm Corrosion is a fairly unique sound. Great collaboration.
"Collapse The Light Into Earth" is a beautiful song. So there is a recent live version recorded as well which came out really good.
again different way how he creates mood and get it right.. there is no anger in his voice, so gently set words that melody.
Sorry for your loss ❤, another great reaction to a Wilson track, his music touches you where no one else’s can. He is simply a genius! So many great tracks from him and PT to watch. Enjoy the journey, I guess the next one should be drive home.. stay safe bud
this hit so unexpectantly hard. Appreciate you friend.
I'm also going to recommend Anathema ( who also has worked with Steven Wilson). Try "Untouchable 1&2" . Play them both.
❤
Brother..... after all this, you need....."Pariah".
Nope! I could not finish this. I'll come back some time later.
Edit: I got through and I don't have anything else to say. I'm sorry for your loss.
Hi. Can you react to Carach Angren-Three times thunder strikes please. Greetings from France.
Love Steve Wilson. I totally agree about connecting thru music... BUT I'D LIKE SOME TAYLOR SWIFT TO HELP DO THAT 😁
I will never react to taylor swift on here hahahha
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody how come? Just curious.
@@leeannies-tears369 Not a fan at all.
Keep up with SW/PT always better LIVE. I don't know how to send you a title or two..
Think it’s time to move to some live performances as the graphic representations are killing you and I would hate for you to be put off his amazing music by the brilliance of his video collaborators. Stevens songs always have a deep and powerful meaning but trust me they don’t all have such a seriously sad vibe. Maybe stay away from ‘Drive Home’ for a few tracks and try something like ‘ Detonation’ Live or ‘Ancestral’ live or ‘Luminol’ live to have a break from the tissues
