there is a groove on the inside of the spindle where the axle goes through. The o-ring fits into that groove. Here is a link to a picture of where the o-ring goes: dmaxstore.com/products/image/cache/data/Spindle,%20Inner%20O-Ring%202-700x700.jpg?full
Great video for sure! But at 7:15, there’s no way in hell that was 225 ft-lbs of torque applied to the 21mm caliper bolts! I’m sure you’re strong being a mechanic, but that wasn’t hardly a 225 ft-lb effort on your torque wrench. I want to know what the true value is. Definitely not 225ft-lbs?
What you think the raised suspension is for? It's so the owner can get underneath it and clean it meticulously. They'd never let dirt or rust get on that truck.
That Tech just impacted the spindle nut on there? Then I see the torque wrench click with no movement telling me there’s no way to know if you actually over torqued that nut or not. Beside that, great video. Just don’t Ughadugah your axle nut and smoke your new bearings 😂

best video on here for hub replacement on these rigs👍
Should the spindle be greased before reinstalling the hub ? Other videos show this being done.
You ment the 4x4 CV shaft
I put Moly Paste on the knuckle where the hub seats into, and some on the splines of the CV.
Prefer Anti Seize personally
Thanks ,straight forward.
Alignment required after? Another video says it is.
No Alignment needed
Are you sure that 225 ft pounds is the correct torque? Other sources list it at 133#. I think that the bolt will strip treads or break.
225 is correct
Iksgiza Air Service LLC on a duramax? 225
I agree! 225 is way too high
@7:15 just watch his effort with his torque wrench. No way in hell that was 225!
@@adamkorekach9936 It was 2.25#. Lol...
@@andrewjensen8789 Maybe 225 inch pounds!! :-P

We went through everything fairly quickly for to keep the video condensed, we went through and torqued everything after this was filmed.
All I see is 80ft lbs of torque everywhere I look. 225 is not correct
@@jeremynelson9621 225 is the GM specified torque specification.
80 sounds way too low for the bracket bolts. Might have been referring to the slide pin bolts. People get those confused a lot.
I always wanted to listen to 5 Finger Death Chipmunks. Subbed.
Same, but for Bring Me the Horizon. Nice.

That hub has not been on there very long
Accurate description, but I've never had one come apart that easy ever and I've changed hundreds of hubs.

Will this video apply to a 2011 2500HD ? I've got a Kryptonite hub assembly being shipped to me and I need to ensure I'm doing it correctly.
Yes, the process is very similar for the 2011-2019 trucks as well.
Do you like the kryptonite hub? How is it holding up?
Would this be the same for a 2500 gas
Yes it is.
What torque wrench do yall use that goes that high..I have had a hard time finding one at stores near me, and even online
Precision instruments 1/2" goes 40 to 250 and made in USA
Kobalt 1/2” I bought at Lowe’s goes up to 250 ft/lb.
@@philslb7908 made in China
@Bill Bailey Made in Taiwan so close enough 😂

That was just for video purposes, he went through and torqued everything again after the video was shot.
