The main point seems to be don't start engine no. 1 until you release the prop brake on engine no. 2. I've STILL seen it fail to release once, but it seems to be much more reliable.
Thanks for this. It was a cute moment at 2:56 when you said “the FGCP… what does it stands for… Multi-function….” That got a hearty laugh from me. I know what its like to try to do a million things recording while trying to also talk and focus. Thanks again or the content.
the thing i have trouble with the ATR is the speed she slows down at high altitudes eg: FL210 she does 194knts, and i cant figure out why. i just cant get the speed up
That's INDICATED airspeed. The higher you go, the lower it becomes, because it's measured via the air pressure hitting the pitot tube - and the air is thinner the higher you get.
Do you know why my Lnav is not working? I have set the course and heading for the departure runway but when i turn on a/p it keeps holding and not following my fplan.
I can only get one engine to come off the prop brake. The other prop, though the engine is running, refuses to turn. The next time, the first prop wont start turning. Did I just buy a lemon or are these instructions not working now?
Might want to update the checklists. They are no longer accurate with the ATR updates. To remove the prop brake, you must: 1. be on the ground 2. gust lock ON 3. Engine 2 in FTR 4. blue hydr pres 2900psi or more
@@jonbeckett This is the most recent video I could find, (uploaded 2 weeks ago) it works for me, but I turn on the external power which it looks like you don't, unless i missed it. it seems the key thing is to turn the prop brake on before anything else. Cheers for the video as it was getting quite frustrating not to have the prop spinning, prior top that I was having to quickly shut the engine down then push the lever forwards again, then the prop would start start spinning.
@@AstrogeoJay It's interesting looking back now - now I know what's going on - and where the hole in the logic is - to see how different people have solved it :)
Best Detail graphics model Airplane : But that's is None physical Flight (A plastic model attached to string on an emty room) Sorry waist of time . PS thanks to Jonathan for this Video great help.. But... I spend most of the day starting the Aircraft to find the unpredict flight... again i mention this FSX had best physic real to life Airplane (it flight better there) ONE STAR only
I’m sure you’re annoyed by me at this point but you should reflect on what you are putting out there for people to agree with it being a big instead of this video, which does the best, but not perfect, demonstration of hotel mode.

Thanks man, i bought this plane when it come out, but never touched it, this video gave me a reason to do it, thanks.
Another Hotel 🏨 🙈 Thx Jon, much appreciated! Have a group flight coming up, must practice

Thanks Jon for the tips!

It's a nightmare :)
@@jonbeckettEvery time. lol
@@jonbeckett (but for what its worth, you make it look very smooth... only you know its your 18th take)
Thanks for tracking this down.

Very exciting Taxing.. with 1 engine.
Have Fun !
when i press "to config test" it shows on the screen "config fl control" like everytime now. how can i fix it
Trim ?
I do really like this aircraft but I find the displays unreadable so I tend not to fly it very much. Think I would prefer the old analog version,
You have to calibrate the Idle Point for the thrusters in the EFB! So no more low on system energy.
I already did... and it seems to settle JUST below 70% - of course knowing what we now know, we can hack it to raise it 2% :)
Does anyone know how to remove the white cover on the cockpit side window?

Yep - it's changed again.
So just to be clear, you don't turn on external power?
This evolved quite a lot. The aircraft evolved, and the checklist evolved to suit :) If you check my more recent videos, I revisited the ATR :)

Completely disagree with everything you have written here.
No Hydraulics
