the not scrolling through tiktok is VERY true, i used to do it all the time, its been several months since then and i'm generally more motivated for everything now however, i typically don't eat sugar in the middle of the day but i feel like it made no difference whether i did or not, on days where me and my family had donuts for breakfast i never really experienced feeling less motivated
Yep, you start to feel more freedom when you stop doomscrolling! If you don't have any troubles with sugar and it doesn't affect you - than ther is no problem at all, it's great :)
Wow this is such a perfect scheme and habit!! But then you remember you are a student and you just have 30% of the time needed (and also has to studdy for tests between 2 and 2 weeks.....) But seriously, this helps quite a lot, having a goal and looking straight for it, it may seen obvious but i'm sure we forget that most of the time! Another thing i want to point out is to start with smaller goals! Your art won't change from night to day, and everyone learns in their own time, so remeber to allways compare your art with your older art, instead of comparing to other artist's, you'll see how much you've grown, and you should be proud of how far you came and how bright is the spark of love for art that keept you going!!
You're right! It's actually very important to learn to make small consistant steps and see a great progress after :) About the time I'd say that 10h a week is enough to improve skills quickly, but only consider the right and aimed practice (to not waste this time). Wish you the best and happy drawing sessions! :)
The tip on sugar is heavily underrated , just yesterday i was feeling tired and sleepy by 11am and i couldnt figure out why . Turns out i ate a stupendous amount sugar. I saw your video just after waking up today, and decided to stay off sugar for a bit , and OMG i got so much work done its actually insane .
This is probably the best tutorial on this entire site I'm truly impressed. I am unfortunately currently a student in my final year of study so free time is hard to come by but this video made me pretty motivated to try a jab at my dream again and i will try to implement these methods. Thank you so very much for this.
Perfect timing, I've not been consistent with my drawing skills. Your drawing video tips have provided me extra tips that I haven't known, I'm grateful for this. Thank you man! 🔥🤟
For those that can't schedule drawing during tueir best hours because of work or something this still works but you just have a bit more resistance. If thats the case try getting a reward and a timer. Set the timer or perform your drawing tasks in smaller chunks for a bit and when it goes off give yourself the reward and your brain will eventually start to associate drawing with that reward and expect it.
I like the pace at which you speak, as a brazilian it's obviously easier to understand when someone speaks more slowly even with an accent. This was the longest ad I have seen, but great video, the tips are valid.
That sugar thing is so true. I made the mistake of having coffee with sugar every morning. When I switched to plain green tea I realized that was what made me feel weary.
i always draw in the evening right before i gts whilst listening to some scary stories from either mr nightmare or a similar ytber, this has now became a ritual for me so much so im now excited to hop off the game and draw while listening to scary stories (Also i draw in my bed to be more comfortable but if i want to draw sometihng serious and not just random practice sketches i have to sit at my desk)
The way how i got consistent and addicted to drawing i would show it to other people with a little lower skill than me where i get phrase for being good it gives me motivation to keep making something to impress them and in the same time i can teach them and thats how i met my friends
i think this might be a habit that could actually help me. i think moving all the instant gratification stuff to the end of the day in order draw earlier in the day because doing nothing would be more boring might actually be something i can enforce as it is bit different from a reward system which doesn't work because of the "i could just get the reward now and not do work" logic because there is no reward for work, the fun stuff is simply only allowed in other part of the day and indulging in the rewards has nothing to do with doing work and somehow it feels easier to enforce than a reward system. plus it aligns with my goals of trying to eat better and use less social media. i think i can at least try this.
Mega late, but had this gem in my watch later. Since I am going to college for animation not only can I use this amazing guide for my artwork, but I can also use it for tracking my animation progression. Thanks for the video, but ngl bro caught me lacking with the thumbnail I'll admit
Yes I am very focused at this particular subject you are talking about, I definitely am aware of it and not distracted by something else that grabbed my attention from the thumbnail😀
I will try it out. Im 26 soon and im sick of getting distraction. in total I have lost perhabs around 5000h of drawing time due to bad habits. these numbers haunt me till today.
What I do to not get distracted by social networks is to collect references in a folder, I upload them to a storage app and when I want to draw I go to that app This way I have clean references without any distractions
So, I just recently got interested in a project I’ve had in my head since I was 8 years old. I was exposed to anime at the age of 5 and video games at 3. So a whole story has been festering in my mind since 8 years old and adding all the fiction I’ve experienced from that point to now, I’ve got a pretty dope story in mind. Only issue is, I’m not the most ambitious person. In fact, if I end up doing something, I might just straight up stopping doing it after once for months. Like posting on this channel. Plus, I have a lot planned for myself. Getting better at drawing and writing stories, I wanna get into voice acting, I wanna further my practice at martial arts and further my practice with music. I know all that would spread me too thin but, those are the things I love the most. So what’s a guy with so many goals with little ambitiousness to do???
Even 10 minutes a day will have a great impact on your skills and on the development of healthy drawing habbit :) So try it out when you'll feel comfortable!
Fundamentals 🤣 you should be able to say out loud what you're doing and why. No masterpieces without knowing how and being all like "I could never do that again lolol" Noooo. That was never the goal with learning to draw. Am I right? Fundamentals make the most deafening difference in art skill. Process, perspective and form etc
Bro, you just gave me a new way to start again. This may help me in my online courses now. Plus, when you said the first thing we do is pick up our phones in the morning well first thing I did and that's how I found you lol 😆
I treat drawing like how I treat my Duolingo streak. If I don't draw for a day, even just a silly doodle or sketch, I imagine an art variant of Duolingo would come after me. It's a way I force myself to practice and fight my procrastination.
I am learning the basics again from 0 after realizing my drawing dosen´t looked that good, I think I am still motivated to continue this path hahaha(I hope)
Thank you. Although I'm not doing social media anymore, gadget is still dangerously distracting. It's the whole world in the palm of your hand, who's not gonna be tempted? Well, I am! After this... hopefully.
I think I'll try your idea of moving the leisure section of the day to the end of the day. It sounds like a good idea. Still, what I eventually figured out, after years of trying, is that I kind of hate drawing. I got a lot better at it over time, but I just didn't like the process. I ended up spending a couple years learning 3d modelling, and a couple going to college for programming, and I've made no money off of it so far. But I'm developing a game with what I learned, which is good, because I was motivated by being slightly annoyed at games not pandering exactly to my tastes.
Im an xtreme night owl. Starting from whevener it gets dark outside is when i feel productive, and i go back n forth with 3D modeling. 30 mins modeling to 30-1hr of downtime. However the breaks are not solid as at times i get irritated and absoluety have to immediately be productive again. The only issue i run into is my personal live like those i game with, i enjoy it too much and tend to not stop until i have to sleep. Its a good thing they all have lives tho and aren’t on everyday…..😅
Problem is, I get so into it, drawing hours straight, then suddenly I get a Discord notification to hop on League. I don't draw for the entirety of that day.
Hello! I really want to check out your digital art workbook you mentioned and is in the desc, but the page wont load no matter what I do. Is there any other way to access it?? Thanks!
Anyone have any tailored advice for me The system looks good and all, but I'm hoping to continue my weekly manga and i just got admission to study law. My parents are okay with me still pursuing my manga as long as i keep up my grades and i want them high enough to get a scholarship at the end of the first year😭😭😭😭
how to focused on drawing, well for me i just need a quiet space because i don't want someone getting the wrong idea why the fuck am i looking at a picture of a woman while drawing
what the FUCK dude >:( this sounds so helpful :3 im going to try doing what you said ❤ very good video good luckk with your work and evrytjing ^~^ !!!!!!!
Here’s my way of achieving this based on my own life. First off, put the damn gacha games down they ain’t doing jack diddly for you. Secondly, don’t listen to your discord friends wanting you to spend money for a ps5 to play with them when you damn well know what you’re really saving your money for, a drawing monitor and in general your decked out dream art set up. And lastly, the most important of all, miss ma’am, last time I remember you have a manga you want to publish and you’re the only one doing everything right now by yourself until you one day find the right people to help you out. So uh yeah get ur ass up and get to creating cuz I don’t see nobody else doing it for you 😂
Honestly i get this spark all the time and it stays even when im being productive which i found interesting cause i don't really get the same art block stuff other artist get or like the motivation is always there to where i wanna get done with one drawing so i can start another like when it comes to drawing i have alot of focus to where if i don't i get like an urge
It's what I do when 3d modelling, helps a lot with the motivation. Just remember that a lot of the most well known art is basically the xxth-century version of that.

I hate my confirmed adhd brain....
And I wake up in 12 now so my mind breaks almost instantly
Well, as a adhd and autistic person, what I do for now is that I do some of my artwork one at a time
if u dont enjoy drawing dont do it. this is just how to be consistent with it lol
