LET'S GOO! We still have half of 2024 to catch up!
how many months...

Glass half full i dig it!
You know what’s funny? References are KEY to getting good “fast”. I was very stubborn - still am - and very rarely used refs for my work. And, to my surprise, my art work comes out looking better when I have refs to go by.
Old and newer artists, please don’t be like me. 😂
Happy drawing! ✍️
I’ve came to this realization too when I realize that references are better serve as inputs of information and knowledge rather than a direct copy so that you can draw them imagination applying it to the output. The input also helps expand your visual Library so that when you encounter similar problems you can just apply that previous input that is now ingrained. Also helps when observing new things from references
THIS, art is really difficult cause in some ways you can interpret using references as either something to break down and copy but a lot of times we aren't given the fine print that it should not be a copy. I struggled for years trying to draw whatever I liked cause I was not understanding the reference and how it reinforces how a certain aspect of the subject works, and instead looked at it as a means of copying an exact angle for example.
My perspective about references changed so much after AI hit. I'm not focusing too much on perfection or detailed things. it's more about identity
Many great artists changed their styles over the years into simpler ones. we learn all the fundamentals so we can bend it later
True, as a digital artist, I cannot deny how significant using references had help me. To me when I was younger, using references felt like “copying” similar to tracing… but its not that at all! Using a reference. Your questions like “on dear, how does the arm look again” or “how should I shade this part” could potentially be answered by looking at how others do it. Yes at the end of the day you still are kind of copying other ppls work, but I’m the whole process, you cna learn a lot from it
Both is good
Bro legitimately that bit with Proko spanking skelly took me off guard that it got rid of my paranoia.

Lmaoooo same!!!☠️☠️
asking for insight and critiques from other artist peers has helped me alot, I realized the very best artists I personally know still ask for critiques from others, I felt really inspired by that
hello!! i was wondering, do you ask for critiques from people who draw similarly to "your style" who you think of as better, or just asking any artist friends? I draw a lot differently from my friends so I do not know if they would be able to see the issues 😔 ?
This was lowkey a movie
You dont understand how much I needed to hear all of this in this moment of my life, I have lost so much confidence and will to draw these past months, and honestly I can not wait to catch your streams and watch you thank you so much for these videos they are incredibly helpful and that little push we did not know we needed.
pullin up at the crib with the world 1-1 music 🔥‼️
Loved that game as a kid and still have the whole ost in my head kid me also took like 4 months to beat it.
This was crazy helpful, I love the way you described the cycle of positive reinforcement. The idea of focus studies and creating pieces to become a cycle of practice, learning, and visualization was really awesome to see.
I feel like every single artist has to watch this now, this is such a steal
It’s like the UA-cam algorithm knows when I’m procrastinating art holy. Great advise tho
I draw for 10 years and still don't know how to draw anatomy, thank's for motivation to learn something new
Fantastic video, full of great advices. I have been lacking targeted practice and just doodling around. Thank you so much. Now I can see a clear path on improving. ✨
Your editing style and how you talk about your process is such a nice change
Also, no shame in following a tutorial 1:1 or trace to learn if you truly struggle. I wasted to much time trying to figure (semi)realistic rendering when i started digital. Then, found a tutorial that said, "here, pick a portrait, trace the face (U aren't learning anatomy today), colourpick the color from the reference (U aren't learning colour pallets or lighting) and step by step, DO THIS. Immediately improved.
If I ever find the tutorial again, I'll link it
You did try to be as easy to understand in your video as you could, and I think the video gives great advice overall. But I think going even further and giving actual examples of what you mean by certain things (like when you do "art study" literally give an example of what you mean - like draw a hundred hands idk?).
You are one of my favourite art youtubers, very sigma
I appreciate your realism and sincerity, it’s very easy to relate with you. You’re gonna go far.
I love this video, its very well made. I've unconsciously been checking out the list. Im at the point where im figuring out my weaknesses and dealing with them. Right now im carrying out stylised portrait studies focusing on the fortiche art style and i would love to begin full illustrations soon.
I'll admit i have never really done art studies on a grand scale like drawing hands for a week cos of time as a uni student studying physics.
Thank you for making this video, please make more like this.
Great, well made art video lol, honestly THIS is the quality of art content I aspire to create
Solid video man! Nice editing, you did good! :D
editing king shit, great video aaron ur killin it dawg
Let me just say you're absolutely hilarious. I loved the bg music and the intro. All the random memes are hilarious as well. I'm literally laughing every two seconds 🤣🤣
I don't usually leave comments on UA-cam but holy moly this whole video was an experience, great stuff, keep up the amazing work :)👍
I just checked a few seconds of your videos, but you're doing really great stuff.
You're literally The Best art UA-camr
Very good timing on that video, I needed it. Awesome content as always man, you're getting good with editing ! It made me laugh a lot. The video was really pleasant to watch honestly. Keep going ! I'm sure you'll succeed in the youtube game.
I'll try to come by on your streams !
Thanks for the continued support man I really appreciate it 🙏🙏
thanks I will rewatch every day, every hours, when i get stuck on art
''just have faith in yourself'' ''just push through''.
That's exactly the problem. Why do so many motivation videos never tell the how.
Watching this vid, it definitely confirmed that working just on the fundamentals was not the way to go, and I may have taken it too literally that they were "important". They definitely are but what I found out is that most artists in general just work on art instead of tackling the fundamentals. Either way I believe is fine but I think by having an imbalance to the input and output like you mentioned, I was glad that you could point it out. This vid's a gem.
Ofc the art funndamentals are important, but learning to apply them in a way you enjoy is defo more important
damn love your editing! That was one blast of a cool inspirational video.
I feel blessed this UA-camr exist
Cool video, I would have also added trying to recreate an artist drawing that you like, an then compare your drawing above the other, see the errors, and with this feed back try to figured out what are your main problems to achieve certain result you want
Ty so much!!! I love this video.
LEEEESSSGOOOOOOOOOO ANOTHER ONE 💖🔥
honestly it was an amazing video.
I wanna be a good artist but the last that I have drawn was November. I rarely get motivation to draw and just yesterday it kicked in. I suddenly thought "I wanna draw again" and so here I am today 😅
