Because the old one was definetly better😂. This video inspired me a lot. I just stopped drawin half an hour ago, then I found this video when I was scrolling. Thanks for the inspiration.😊
Watching you reminds me of how I started, how everyone starts, and I can’t help to smile through out the video. In my opinion, you are to a great start! Keep it up and you’ll reach your goals in no time. 👏 Much love, man. ❤
Proud of you for working so hard! Never forget to draw things that you love outside of study too! Having the cover page of your sketchbook fall off is such a mood
Man, I'm gonna be honest I wanna get back to drawing thanks to you I stopped drawing a few years ago because I got discouraged and I really regret it now since I could've made so much progress
To everyone who just started their art journey and who are still going, please never give up on it! I cannot stress this enough, no matter how bad your art looks right now, just keep going! I promise you progress does happen, you might not see it but one day you will make something and feel so proud of yourself. I've been drawing since I was a kid and I'm still learning how to do poses, so sometimes you might not be able to get to your goal immediately, but you will definitely see the difference as you go! I wasn't any better, but now if I compare my art to the ones I drew when I started learning, I feel so proud of how far I've come. The only rule in art is, never compare yourself to someone else and never stop drawing, you can and should take breaks but don't stop. My best friend, who also loved art and was actually very good at realistic potraits, stopped drawing and gave up on it, no matter how much I told her to continue, she didn't listen, and now I can't show my art to her, because I know she compares herself with me. She feels bad she isn't as good (I swear I'm not trying to brag) even now I tell her she can start and she can get better, but she isn't willing to listen. So, that's why to everyone out there, please don't give up. You WILL get better, more than you think, and I'm 100% sure of that :)
It's so nice to see authentic sketchbooks that show progress instead of polished "perfect" artwork. I think a lot of beginners have a hard time improving when they see all these art videos that show finished work in sketchbooks. Sketchbooks are supposed to be filled with 'bad' drawings. As an artist, you are bound to make many mistakes and go through periods of trial and error before you get to where you want to be. I think more artists should show things like this as a way to encourage beginners to keep practicing. This was a very awesome video!
Love this kind of vid. I see a lot of beginners raging about not being an art god within a few months, but this is what the progress actually looks like.
This is so inspiring to watch! I'm definitely passing your vids around to anyone learning to draw. Seeing what kind of progress you can expect is so helpful!
This is honestly the perfect video I needed to push through and actually not be too hard on myself for not seeing progress as soon as I would like, great video as always😊
remember though, even if you dont feel like youre making any progress, you 100% are, even if just subconsciously. every art piece you do or practice helps you improve even if just a little.
It’s so brave to show the beginning stuff, this is what people need to seee to understand that they can do it to. This is such a punk video, helping people see how it’s really done warts and all, “do it yourself!” I salute you
I have to say you deserve to be complimented for your drawings of the body in movement. I'm a trained dancer and you've such a good eye for what we call 'line'. So many artists (even professional ones) don't actually pull it off to the dancer's eye. We can tell the small mistakes that turn a portrait into a not-quite-believable picture. -But you can do it.- Even in your early work you seem to have an innate understanding of where the fulcrum of the body is, how the weight is distributed down into the ground and how the limbs work around that fulcrum. It's a very cool talent. Good luck!
I want to point out one thing about digital art, because I do digital art since years but I still have some moments where it feels odd and unfamiliar compared to trad art, the brush is quite important in your experience, find a brush that fits you and itll make some stuff easier. My way of sketching really improved once i found the brush that fits how I approach art Aside that your video is very motivating and I can't wait to see more, keep up the good work!!
Tips. Practice one specific thing before practicing another skill Avoid burnout. It's a death sentence for your creativity and motivation to draw. Don't compare yourself to artists that has worked with their craft for years longer then yours. Draw, not finish. Be patient with your art, and your developing style. Some say you can force it, but in msot cases it won't work. Artstyle is SUBJECTIVE. If you get art block, immidately STOP. Copy, and use reference. It isn't stealing, when you learn and get experience from it. But if you do post it, please credit the artist. Be passionate and have fun with art.
This video got randomly recommended to me and I just want to say you're doing great! There are so many things to learn in art, and with the internet now allowing us to constantly compare ourselves to others, it can feel overwhelming. But taking it one day at a time and seeking out resources for learning like you are is exactly what you should be doing. If you're still focusing on anatomy, I recommend the Morpho anatomy books. There's, like 9 or 10 of them, and they cover a wide variety of anatomical subjects like muscles, hands/feet, wrinkles and fat folds, clothing draping, etc., and you can generally get them for fairly cheap or even free from some places. Keep it up! :)
This type of videos are so encouraging. Sometimes you may feel alone on this path of becoming artist as a beginner, but this is a really good company for the journey. Also if i fail on something you success this is great to learn about that, because looking at Pro's may be a too big step.
This was really inspiring! Right now I’m right where you were when you first started, and it’s cool to see that kind of progress from my starting point. Congrats and keep it up!
I haven't drawn in several years. But i remember going through the same process when i first started out. I would often use my own hand as a reference when drawing hands.
I love that you have to make bad art to make good art. Because if you make nothing, theres nothing in this world you can compare that nothing to. Have a great art journey and make more art! You're gonna look back on it and think it's bad but that just means improvement!
TBH that little purple hi with the lil guy in THE FIRST PAGE IS GENIUS like, you lost the whole pressure of messing up by just creating something silly in the first place. there is no need to be aesthetic anymore. GOLD

Your committment to getting better at art is incredible and you are genuinely so powerful for showing the early stages of your art lol when it comes to anatomy, i am at about the same level as the beginning of your second sketchbook, and it's so frustrating that i dont bother even trying to improve, but seeing you push through is really motivating! So uh yeah, i usually dont comment a lot on videos, but your video just left that much of an impact. Good luck on your art journey, you're really well on your way to nailing digital painting ^^

Thanks for the motivation man, was putting my drawing aside and wouldn’t begin even after watching soo many art videos. Hoping to see more of your content soon!
This is super inspirational! I dare say I was always naturally good at drawing, but it was the same as everything else for me.. I could pick up almost anything and be immediately decently to pretty good at it, and so I never actually learned how to.. well, study. I fudged my way through all of my formal education up to a MSc with good success, but I still cannot *STUDY*. Like with art, I was always pretty good but I have never done any formal anatomy or perspective studies. Or even face studies. Especially since I'm autistic and struggle with faces IRL as well, that especially holds me back. I can make up poses okay because I'm very analytical. But in the end, I haven't drawn actively for almost 10 years because my skill stagnated and without those basic skills, I couldn't improve. But I also couldn't get myself to study these basics. I've really been missing art and have recently thought about getting into it. Pick up where I left off, but try to focus on those basics that have kept me back.
I'm very impressed with the progress you made digitally. I've never been able to create presentable art with a tablet, and it killed my art drive for some time, until I just accepted there's nothing wrong with traditional. But your talent skyrocketed from the passion you put in it
Damn dude, you improved so much in such a short amount of time. I have recently just got back into drawing and art after graduating from uni in animation. I stopped for like 5 years. Lost the passion, the hunger and most of all covid just messed up so much. But I've been looking around for some things to motivate me and use as a source of logical inspiration. You have inspired me massively and I have learnt so much from just a few of your videos. Keep up the amazing work!
Love your progress!! This was also how I started out with my art journey back when i was just diving into it. Keep it up man, cant wait to see your progress in a year 👊
I am 37 and have always loved comics. I have always loved to draw/sketch, but have never intentionally given the art more than a passing interest until now. I just want to say that this channel is so encouraging for someone like me. What makes it unique is both the humility in which you approach your video content and also the transparency in which you present a realistic presentation of what it looks like to "grow" in this art. Thanks a lot man!
This is so encouraging to see. I spent 12 hours yesterday trying to draw a smooth line in krita with my drawing tablet and I'm just not getting it. Very little art practice on paper. Just all around new. Thank you for sharing
i remember learning poses or like the basic anatomy in a week when my art teacher made us draw 30 sketches every single day so it was almost 180 sketches by the end of the week. And the way I was blown away by seeing how much progress I made in a week then I did in like a month or sth. So I do believe practice everyday really gets you there
I just found this video, I restarted drawing about a few weeks ago (I'm 38) and used to draw when I was a kid all the time, this really motivated me thank you, my goal is to do one complete sketch every day
Your progress over the year is great.. I love it. I am getting into digital art and animation now. I hope that some day I get as good as where you are.. Thank you for sharing your story.
This is great progress! I had many of the same issues as you, as well as breakthroughs! I'm often asked to give advice for new artists, but advice can only go so far if you don't have the dedication to actually apply them. So exciting to see development!
Hi! Great video! It looks a lot like my art journey. One thing that really helped me was switching to better quality paper. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but honestly I saw huge jump in my ability just by using more dense paper. 👌🏽
It's very nice of you to show that! I'm at roughly a year of drawing myself now. I wanna quickly add, if someone might think "Oh man, I've drawn for a year and I'm not as good as him" that's ok! We all learn at different pases. I, for example, improve more slowly, but I've come to accept that, because in the end it's an individual journy, you know?
Brother, as a greek on his day 2 of a drawing journey. That oc part made me chuckle, look at the fates of people being brought together. I'm feeling a connection aaah that's so wholesome. Btw 10:30 😆 EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION, IM A DANMACHI FAN AS WELL AHH. ALL THE WAY TO FREYA ARC IN THE NOVEL ❤
Oh i so relate to not having color until digital. I drew mostly in school, and while I'd work with color when i could, i couldn't always bring my cheap colored pencils with me.
Your energy is contagious lol. I think approaching work with humour adds a lot, even when you fuck up and draw something sub-par, having a good attitude about it still makes it worth it. Your videos are great :) Makes me feel more merciful to my art as well. It truly aint that deep sometimes.
Man you're awesome. Stumbled on this video because I was bored in between my computer science studies, and trying to find something fun to watch (I'm thinking about using drawing as a creative vessel for myself, except that I'm terrible at drawing). Your video gave me a lot of feelings, but the main one is: motivation. You take things so lightly, with this soothing voice. You just got another subscriber for sure sir!
being an artist is just continuing to make things out of passion even when in a rut, or when you feel like everything you make is shit, it's just the continuous drive to keep moving forward regardless out of love of what you do I experience this alot as a musican where I have periods where I can't make anything cause i feel like I can't anymore, but passion and love of what I do make me continue moving forward. anyone can be an artist, talent doesn't exist, everyone you think is talented is just someone who spent time learning and growing when nobody is watching, cause they love it
i couldn’t have seen this video at a more perfect time honestly. literally just decided to start drawing again TODAY. i used to love to draw as a kid but i haven’t drawn consistently since middle school. i was never very good, just liked drawing characters for fun. i’d never color it because i had no idea how colors work together and was scared i’d ruin the drawings. this video really gives me the hope that i can be just as dedicated this year and learn some very necessary foundations so i can start creating the art i wanna see 🫶🏽👩🏽🎨 thanks for this video
god damn ! watching this video made me feel like i met a long lost friend, I am exactly like you. so relatable and I think just like you do. at some points in the video, it really made me crack up.
Here is what I heard from another video and comment, "As long as the younger you sucks more then the older current you, you're on the right track." It really changed something and keeps motivating me. I look back and see how GARBAGE (😭) I was, I'm able to notice a lot of the mistakes I was making and it makes me feel so much better. Only person you can compare yourself to is-- yourself.
I’m so inspired by your process. I learned to draw pretty well as a kid but stopped practicing. When I picked it up again I quickly hit a hard plateau. Ouch. You describe it so well. A famous artist told me to draw from life-yes, draw what you see in the world, not from a picture on a screen or book. Find a life drawing class. I think you’ll love it and you will create your unique style. Also go to art museums to learn from famous artists. Art itself is a great teacher.
I actually start drawing 2 months ago i dont have any idea how to draw but now i can draw characters most are anime in my own no reference by watching tutorials on yt i can actually draw now in my own pose clothes and stuff im im still improving so if u said your drawings are ugly just kept practicing we all start as newbie to pro good luck for those who wants to draw

Having the cover page of your sketchbook fall off is such a mood
Man, I'm gonna be honest I wanna get back to drawing thanks to you
I stopped drawing a few years ago because I got discouraged and I really regret it now since I could've made so much progress
I just started a week ago
@@radhamadhav8063 good luck :)
This is honestly the perfect video I needed to push through and actually not be too hard on myself for not seeing progress as soon as I would like, great video as always😊
remember though, even if you dont feel like youre making any progress, you 100% are, even if just subconsciously. every art piece you do or practice helps you improve even if just a little.
i think shading is a very underrated way to learn anatomy, you understand the volumes much better
It’s so brave to show the beginning stuff, this is what people need to seee to understand that they can do it to. This is such a punk video, helping people see how it’s really done warts and all, “do it yourself!” I salute you
dude i LOVE to see other artists progress idk why
you're doing great :D
My way of sketching really improved once i found the brush that fits how I approach art
Aside that your video is very motivating and I can't wait to see more, keep up the good work!!
Tips.
Practice one specific thing before practicing another skill
Avoid burnout.
Be passionate and have fun with art.
i relate to you so much, and seeing your progress was incredibly exciting. Cant wait for part 2!!
Bro is a big threat for the art community 😭
I’ve seen randos on 4chan progress faster
@@Eizengoldt nice for you ig
@@TinoYino thanks, I've made progress too :)
@@Eizengoldtno one asked
@@Eizengoldt this isn't a competition bro
GOLD
I love this! I just found out about your channel and I’m so glad youtube recommended me your video. This and the other video explaining the role dopamine takes in drawing is actually really educational and helpful. It changed my perspective on few things and helped me be more understanding towards myself 🌹 I subscribed immediately☺️
I've been drawing for around 4 years, you've got better anatomy than me lmao
This is inspiring. I want to upload an art journey video too sometime in the future. It's so individual yet sets realistic goals and helps to not get frustrated when it takes time to get better.
I don't even draw, but it was really cool to see the progress you've made on your craft.
Really nice progress and keep going 👍
3:10 I respect that you actually resisted.
As someone who just started drawing a week ago, this was EXACTLY the video I needed for inspiration. Thank you.
dude this is so inspirational thank you. i decided just today that im going to start drawing, really. i hope in a years time i can watch your next video and see the progress i made as well :)
Thank you man! This inspired me so much!

this man should have a medal for creating the most relatable quote of the year
Yo this is so cool! I haven't seen any other videos of you so far, but that progress is insane!! Your committment to getting better at art is incredible and you are genuinely so powerful for showing the early stages of your art lol
when it comes to anatomy, i am at about the same level as the beginning of your second sketchbook, and it's so frustrating that i dont bother even trying to improve, but seeing you push through is really motivating!
So uh yeah, i usually dont comment a lot on videos, but your video just left that much of an impact. Good luck on your art journey, you're really well on your way to nailing digital painting ^^
5 years and i still no better than anything you did . incredible i respect you : D
i do wanna hear the bl joke do-
I just want to know how to not be afraid to make videos based on art 😭
You did amazing improvements in the course of 1 year holly molly!
0:17 If you think that's bad, wait till you see my current one lol. Yours is awesome for a beginner
0:57 handsome Squidward ahh pose
Thank you so much for this, because right now, I'm going through my first few months, and I suck! But going through exactly the same. So thanks. Love your thoughts.❤❤
commenting here before you make it big!!! i really love your commentary and congrats on the progress youre doing so awesome!!!
But your talent skyrocketed from the passion you put in it
I am so impressed! Thoroughly enjoyed your video and the progress you’ve made. Also, enjoyed how nice your face is to look at! Thank you
Very impressive! Keep going with that motivation and dedication and you’ll for sure continue to see progress :)
Thoose kind of Videos keep me motivated, I just started 10days ago as a complete beginner. I am very excited when i hit my first year
Damn dude, you improved so much in such a short amount of time.
Dude this is mad cool, this is makes me feel so motivated to improve my art!
Love your progress!! This was also how I started out with my art journey back when i was just diving into it. Keep it up man, cant wait to see your progress in a year 👊
Bro I've been drawing for six years and I can say that I did not progress as fast as this! Great video. Keeping my insperation on a high!
Really great to see your channel and your art skills grow so much, + this is totally helping me with my current case of art block
So I do believe practice everyday really gets you there
I just found this video, I restarted drawing about a few weeks ago (I'm 38) and used to draw when I was a kid all the time, this really motivated me thank you, my goal is to do one complete sketch every day
Really good to see a honest progress review
Your progress over the year is great.. I love it. I am getting into digital art and animation now. I hope that some day I get as good as where you are.. Thank you for sharing your story.
i found your vid as accident and i got so motivated, ill start drawing from today with no excuses.
This is great progress! I had many of the same issues as you, as well as breakthroughs!
I'm often asked to give advice for new artists, but advice can only go so far if you don't have the dedication to actually apply them. So exciting to see development!
Wow, that progress is crazy fast! I wish I had half your motivation and discipline.
Love the progression and though process throughout! Trying my own journey and really enjoyed the video
Hi! Great video! It looks a lot like my art journey. One thing that really helped me was switching to better quality paper. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but honestly I saw huge jump in my ability just by using more dense paper. 👌🏽
These kind of progress videos always motivate me, but the second I open a sketchbook I give up right away
Yo! That's a great progress kepp working hard and enjoy the process ♡
I've been thinking a lot about an idea: everytime you think you know how to draw something, learn it again
Brother, as a greek on his day 2 of a drawing journey. That oc part made me chuckle, look at the fates of people being brought together. I'm feeling a connection aaah that's so wholesome. Btw 10:30 😆
EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION, IM A DANMACHI FAN AS WELL AHH.
ALL THE WAY TO FREYA ARC IN THE NOVEL ❤
Your videos are AWESOME. Your ability to communicate abstract concepts is unique, and besides that, the camera loves you.
Oh i so relate to not having color until digital. I drew mostly in school, and while I'd work with color when i could, i couldn't always bring my cheap colored pencils with me.
this inspired me a lot, great video
This inspired me. I've watched two of your videos so far, and seeing you continue to challenge yourself motivated me to try it! Keep up the good work
Your sense of humor is the bright part of this video)
Your energy is contagious lol. I think approaching work with humour adds a lot, even when you fuck up and draw something sub-par, having a good attitude about it still makes it worth it. Your videos are great :) Makes me feel more merciful to my art as well. It truly aint that deep sometimes.
Hey loved your video! Can really see your progress, exciting. Just wanted to drop some encouragement and anticipation for future works 😀
Let’s go. I love this content and I really appreciate you sharing your journey with us. Onwards!
You just got another subscriber for sure sir!
being an artist is just continuing to make things out of passion even when in a rut, or when you feel like everything you make is shit, it's just the continuous drive to keep moving forward regardless out of love of what you do
I experience this alot as a musican where I have periods where I can't make anything cause i feel like I can't anymore, but passion and love of what I do make me continue moving forward.
anyone can be an artist, talent doesn't exist, everyone you think is talented is just someone who spent time learning and growing when nobody is watching, cause they love it
i couldn’t have seen this video at a more perfect time honestly. literally just decided to start drawing again TODAY. i used to love to draw as a kid but i haven’t drawn consistently since middle school. i was never very good, just liked drawing characters for fun. i’d never color it because i had no idea how colors work together and was scared i’d ruin the drawings. this video really gives me the hope that i can be just as dedicated this year and learn some very necessary foundations so i can start creating the art i wanna see 🫶🏽👩🏽🎨 thanks for this video
god damn !
watching this video made me feel like i met a long lost friend, I am exactly like you.
so relatable and I think just like you do.
at some points in the video, it really made me crack up.
FINALLY somebody has watched Danmachi bro you’re an absolute W
Great job, Keep it up :D This reminds me of my own first year of making art. It's hard work and occassionally punishing, but the eventual growth is worth it!
That take back that night reference brought tears to my eyes
