    Someone told me a while ago that the best way to design a character is to start with their story, (ex: grew up on a country side, only having one parent) stuff like that and i immediately could start and picture the character the more i understood their story. And I'm saying this as someone who never cared or liked story behind characters or games. total game changer

      Yes, this is very important! That's why I always write characters background before doing anything :)

      yep! it's better to do that then to create characters and write out their personality, and can't find a way to fit in a story and gets too attached to scrap them (i'm speaking from experience)

    Love your character. The only details I'd ommit or edit from her are the flying belts because those makes a lot of noise and aren't stealthy as defined in your own Character Design System. Wonderful work, big fan.

    Another banger. I'd choose 2, since the silhouette is so clean.
    Do you have plans to do any full colouring videos. It's an area I always struggle with, and you explain things so concisely (both in use of simple language, examples and video length) that I hope you do.
    Also, I think a collab of some kind with LinesSensei would be fantastic, you both have similar vibes.

    Last advice, from someone who struggled with it a lot: Avoiding making a character too flat in the reference sheet, this will stop you from making them flat in perspective drawing.
    Sketch volumes, not stickers.

    What device would be best for drawing stuff on

    • @ArseniKatsela
      @ArseniKatsela  5 місяців тому +1

      Any IPad with Apple Pencil support will be good :)
      If you have a computer, than you have two options - tablets with screen and without it. With screen tablets it's easier to start because you draw directly on the screen (like on paper), and they're pretty expensive. Screenless tablets are very budget friendly, but it takes a little bit longer to get used to them.
      Hope it helps :)
