Huge respect for continuing this run after SO much trouble! I recently, finally, got all the achievements for DS Remastered on Steam, and I am NEVER playing this game again without mods, it is just TOO tough for me without being able to adjust more than I can in the base game. On the other hand, I played over 600 hours of DS2 on steam with no mods and really enjoy it, so! Nothing can be "right" for everyone!
@@PressContinue The first one I ever used for DS1 was a really basic "damage reduction" so that I could actually WIN against Artorias, cuz the run-back was SO tough, I kept using half my Estus on the way. I did one play-thru with Better Bonfires for the fast travel, that was a good one. Then I discovered DS Gadget, which has literally everything I could want - item spawn and warp-anywhere and no-death cheats! Someday I'd like to do an item-randomizer run, but I'll have to wait for the frustration to wear off lol
One of the things that I love most about your content that you don’t really see on too many other channels is how in-depth of an understanding you have of the souls games and how casually you slip in little jokes and such. If you wanted to branch out to other games, and incorporate your same style, I can’t speak for anyone else but I will support that.
The Elizabeth Mushrooms are so OP they actually make face-tanking the 4 kings on NG+ at sl1 barely possible Still requires their AI to play along like yoh were experiencing, but it's possible(NG+ also means you get 8 mushrooms instead of 4)
What a fantastic idea. Sort of like a no leveling run but with a weapon requirement. I think using secondary equipment (rings, consumables, passive shield effects) is fair game in a run like this. You did great.

I only found your channel recently, so I don't know if you've done it, but maybe a DS2 challenge run in NG+? (Bonus points if you drop all your items from NG when starting) One thing I respect about the "B-Team" is that if you actually liked how they designed the first playthrough, they will double down and troll you with red phantoms in NG+...lol...I personally love it (They do also give you some extra lore tidbits to compensate for us crazy nerds)...but then again, I'm a bit of a masochist...heh heh heh...OH Ho! Wait, wait, wait...you want an INSANE challenge? Try for TRUE 100% items in DS2...It's technically impossible without modding as there are four weapons with skin swaps that were timed exclusives, but that's not what I mean, there are two rings, one requires you beat the game without dying, the other requires you beat the game without resting at a bonfire (Again, bonus points if you get them on the same playthrough, I still don't have them on NG+7, but I screwed myself, it's better to get on NG, as there are no BS red phantoms, but you only have starting equip, so maybe just NG+1)...hah ha hah... I'm actually doing a high SL playthrough to NG+7 right now(currently on ng+6) and the abyss greatsword has kinda become my default weapon ngl You can't buff it which sucks but the chaos scaling makes it actually stronger than the claymore by like 40 AR. If it's stat requirements didn't suck it would probably be really popular in pvp

During the four kings fight when you were running for your souls I felt the instinct to dodge when he was attacking you off screen I’m so used to the fight.
Honestly the "No levels at all" idea doesn't really sit with me in this particular run and in runs with similar content. I would prefer something in the lines of "every time you enter a new area or slay a boss you get 1 level-up". That way you scale and you don't have to break brick walls by slamming your head against them.
Loved the streams of this. Really enjoy what you do on the channel. Would you consider doing a similar playthrough as soul of cinder in ds3? I.e. change your style after each boss. Like melee then pyro then sorcery etc.

You could basically do this challenge in all 3 Dark Soul's games and Elden Ring. Dark Soul's 2 added the Majestic Greatsword in the Crown of the Ivory King DLC and Dark Soul's 3 has the Wolf Knight's Greatsword. Elden Ring on the other hand has the Lion's Claw and Savage Lion's Claw Ashes of war, the former can be found without killing a single enemy due to it being the default Ashe of War on the Claymore.
Every time when I think you can't torture yourself any more than you already have, somehow you find a way. I guess it's true that when you stare for too long into the abyss, the abyss also stares into you.

Loved the streams of this. Really enjoy what you do on the channel. Would you consider doing a similar playthrough as soul of cinder in ds3? I.e. change your style after each boss. Like melee then pyro then sorcery etc.

Artorias slam is such a great move for dealing damage, mid rolling locked on you can perfectly side roll each jump then punish

You could basically do this challenge in all 3 Dark Soul's games and Elden Ring.
Dark Soul's 2 added the Majestic Greatsword in the Crown of the Ivory King DLC and Dark Soul's 3 has the Wolf Knight's Greatsword. Elden Ring on the other hand has the Lion's Claw and Savage Lion's Claw Ashes of war, the former can be found without killing a single enemy due to it being the default Ashe of War on the Claymore.
