So unlike e.g. "locus" and "loci," where the -i plural is correct, for "manus" the plural is "manūs," same spelling but with a long "u." This won't make sense to any English speaker who is not a Latin nerd, but if you address the hordes as Manūs with a big "ooooo" sound, you will be technically correct, the best kind of correct

P.S. This challenge makes me feel incredibly bad as a player that my Dark Souls game has been paused since the year it came out, with only Manus and Gwyn left to finish the game for the first time. Manus was simply kicking my a** to oblivion on my million attempts. I tried him again a few years ago, but he was still making me his bit**. : / Actually I _MIGHT_ have to do Kalameet too, I’m not sure. Last time I fired the game up, I was too scared to go and check, because I worried I’d never find the fog door for Manus again if I left the bonfire I was at lol. Maybe one day I’ll finish the game. 😂

The mosquitoes don't actually respawn infinitely, so it might've been possible to clear out Blighttown with enough patience. A LOT of patience. Then again, you might not have enough arrows for it to even be possible.
Another person mentioned that, I reckon if I took the long bow, black bow, short bow and comp bow with 999 arrows I could've done that really slowly. I wish I knew that before I started I just always assumed they were infinite :')

Been on a big dark souls challenge run binge recently and I think this is the fastest sub I've dropped. The combo of your sense of humour and your intense suffering is just delicious. "I took the biggest bite I could out of my monitor" had me CREASING.
I'm scrolling through UA-cam, watching It's Always Sunny In Philly videos, and I come across this absolutely nightmare inducing video as an ad. Yiu sir, have caught my attention. I pray your sanity returns soon enough.
It always perplexes me the amount of hardship we are willing to endure for something stupid and yet It also amazes me what human determination is capable of when someone has the drive to accomplish things.
The algorithm threw this my way into my homepage, this has to be easily the most painful narration I had to endure along with the gameplay, a land of manuses seems like an excersize in misery, you are insane, and you got my respect and admiration for the commitment to the challenge!

Spacing is everything with Manus. Learnt that while playing a mage with 0 points in vitality. Playing mid-range attacking his extremities is the best as his hit hitbox is large enough and you are at perfect range to roll out of the first strike of his combo and subsequently out of range of the follow-through.
Incredible video, i was fascinated by every second of it. It was really fun watching you solve problems i thought would be unsolvable upon realizing how hard a run like this is.

Huge editing effort here and pain tolerance, especially for a (currently) small channel. Looks almost as painful as trying to play OW. I could never put myself through this. Hopefully you get some following off it. If you like odd DS challenge runs with satisfying/ingenious solutions I highly recommend NGPlus' videos on beating DS and DS2 bosses alphabetically. They end up seriously impressive.

2 fun hindsights. 1, the ring of rust allows you to run through the swamp and I think you would have had a reasonable time getting it(meaning you could safely kill everything). 2, I think the skeleton blacksmith can upgrade to +10, so you might of been able to get stronger stuff earlier and maybe even fire damage if you wanted. About to start part 2 and looking forward to it.

FYI, the undead merchant isn't actually the only npc in the game who sells repair powder. In the dlc, Elizabeth also sells repair powder(iirc she even sells it cheaper than the burg merchant)
Manus giving you 30k souls on death is due to the randomizer settings. Default settings for bosses replacing enemies means that they drop 50% souls upon death. This can be changed in the settings before you create a seed.

I always hear Manus is the hardest boss in DS1, but I honestly struggled the most by far with Artorias in my first playthrough. It probably took me about 20 attempts to finally put that poor suffering bastard out of his misery. If ever have a son and his mother doesn't object, his middle name will be Artorias.

2 fun hindsights. 1, the ring of rust allows you to run through the swamp and I think you would have had a reasonable time getting it(meaning you could safely kill everything). 2, I think the skeleton blacksmith can upgrade to +10, so you might of been able to get stronger stuff earlier and maybe even fire damage if you wanted. About to start part 2 and looking forward to it.

FYI, the undead merchant isn't actually the only npc in the game who sells repair powder. In the dlc, Elizabeth also sells repair powder(iirc she even sells it cheaper than the burg merchant)

Manus giving you 30k souls on death is due to the randomizer settings. Default settings for bosses replacing enemies means that they drop 50% souls upon death. This can be changed in the settings before you create a seed.

I always hear Manus is the hardest boss in DS1, but I honestly struggled the most by far with Artorias in my first playthrough. It probably took me about 20 attempts to finally put that poor suffering bastard out of his misery. If ever have a son and his mother doesn't object, his middle name will be Artorias.
