They do look like something out of final fantasy.
I'm a dex player at heart, but I have to respect any weapon that can force enemies to kneel before thee with a strong attack. I only bring this up because this particular challenge makes me think of a dex character that wanted to be a strength build despite not being beefy enough to pull it off.
The great scythe and lifehunt scythe are what I end up using for a Dex character who still wants a big ass weapon
Just in case strength weapons aren’t normally this slow its just because he lacks the stat requirements.

The interesting part is that there is definitely someone who thought dark souls was too hard because they were using weapons they couldn’t wield properly because of their stats

I really doubt that. wielding a weapon you have no stats for without knowing it would be impossible because the game tells you when you can't use something.

15:05 Actually, from what I recall when rewatching his video about poise in Dark Souls 1 Dissected, according to illusorywall, the Iron Golem being made unstable and then knocking him down is based on doing a certain amount of damage to his health, not poise. The issue here seems to lie in you not doing enough DPS to satisfy these checks in the Iron Golem fight, which has nothing to do with poise, rather than you lacking poise damage.
I gotta say I found this channel on accident, since I recently decided to make DS videos myself, and your content is just so good, I love your sense of humor, extremely entertaining vid, Subscribed

The thing that bugs me about low-chance random drops is that Final Fantasy *Twelve* had that shit sorted. I loved the way chaining mobs upped your drop rate in that; it was very nicely balanced so that someone just going through the game normally will occasionally get a really nice surprising RNG, and those of us who are stupid determined to get rares can chain Helvinek. (Which I honestly do not recommend.)
One enemy required you to kill 100 other specific enemies, and had something like 5% chance of rewarding a katana that wasn't even good.

Except that chaining certain rare enemies with rare drops in XII involves having to zone out before their death animation finishes, which probably wasn’t intentional. 😂
Still the game was way ahead of itself and handled nicely a ton of issues that games still seem to have today.
@@mirko241 Was that Larva Eater or the rare Bomb in the Lhusu Mines that dropped that? They were both absurdly obnoxious, but Larva Eater was worse, as I recall. I did try chaining the Bomb once, but it was just truly tedious so I stopped. I read the *directions* for chaining Larva Eater and was like nope, nuh-uh, not happening. I even respect those being like that, since there's only a few that are that difficult, and they're anything but essential gear. Though I would not ever do a challenge run requiring, say, the Grand Helm. (Rare in the Pharos, but you can build up a same-type chain and use the Strahl-doesn't-break-chains exploit, I remember this without looking because farming really does drive you mad.)
@@indubitablewordsmith9138 True! The Cerberus & Tartarus enemies would have been a better example. Made the Tournesol grind much less painful.
Though on my second playthrough, I realized it was still nonetheless unnecessarily painful because every guide claimed you could keep killing both and it wouldn't reset rarity rates. Untrue. It doesn't reset multiple-drop rate, but it messes with rarity. That means it's good to use both types until you get to like maybe a fifteen or twenty chain, then switch to just the type that dropped the Hell-Gate's Flame and it drops waaay faster than doing it with both, saved me so much time in the future.
Why do I remember all this, what good is it still doing me? Anyway, I loved that game, which I think shows.
I thought I remember reading FF12 reloaded enemies on zone change, but the american version needed 3 zone changes. Or was that just treasure chests like the Zodiac Spear's 1/10000 pot... I remember liking 12, but never bothered with Chains because I had to ignore everything else to do it.
My favorite weapon wielded in entirely the wrong way.
