Can I Beat Dark Souls 3 With Only a Staff But No Spells?

- Can you beat Dark souls 3 with only spell tools but no spells? In this video I show you how to beat DS3 with only catalysts without any sorcery. All damage must come from the staves themselves, either from its R2 melee attacks or from its weapon art. An actually viable sorcerer build!

Oh, this aged well.
Even though i consider ds2 the weakest game out of the soul series it is always the most entertaining to watch. Comparing this to the chime only build this was a pretty linear run with some backtracks to the dlc and entering lothric castle early but nothing we haven't seen b4. Every ds2 run challenge or not is different and there's so much possible routes and variety to it. When i was watching the chime only build I was like "what will his route be like" "what items is he going to use" "how is he going to get through early game". But in this vid i already basically knew the route i was just curious on how well the build would do. And i think this adds a special charm to ds2 none that we experience in other soulsborne games (maybe demon souls) and its really encourages creativity and planning instead of just raw skill and strategy and it's always interesting to watch.
Sort of true. DS3 is the most linear one for sure. Although I do think that most people would have expected me to go for the Izalith staff instead of going through the DLC for the murky long staff
don't forget the most important strength of DS2:
IT INSPIRED HAPPY SOULS.

I did this challenge myself a year or so ago, but I used the Izalith Staff as my weapon of choice. Didn't occur to me to use the Murky Longstaff. Cheers to stick wacking!
Yeah I think that most people would expect me to go for the Izalith staff so I wanted to throw a bit of a curveball by going through Friede with the storyteller staff.

Hey dude, just discovered your channel a few days back and binged most of it by now. Your content is simply amazing, it's incredible how dedicated you are to these games. Thank you very much for all these uploads ❤
You're very welcome and also welcome to the channel :)
7:50 - 8:40 ….I wasn’t expecting a life lesson but it’s definitely a great lesson😀😀.
It was very deep it caught me off guard😄
Still killin it homie! You and Ymfah are helping make the Elden Ring hype even more real, I can easily picture years down the road playing all sorts of outlandish challenge runs that utilize the inevitable glitches and broken, overpowered mechanics we’re sure to discover after we’ve all dumped several hundreds of hours into the game.
The more videos you post the bigger the feeling of having done nothing in dark souls gets for me great job
UA-cam recommended one of your bloodborne videos to me a few days ago and I’ve been binge watching your videos. I love the souls games but never played most of them. I like to enjoy the games vicariously through UA-camrs lol. I appreciate all the effort you put into these videos. I’m gonna make sure I leave a like on all your videos. Thanks for the amazing content.

Did a hell of a job with the commentary.
Super enjoyable video.
Curious what kind of shenanigans the community will get into come Elden Ring.
Bubblemancy sorcerer only?
That'd be interesting.
I just realized the un-note worthy boss always gets forgotten, the champion in the ashes dlc, again not note worthy but still humorous he's always the sole survivor of these challenges.
Yeah that's right, I never include him. To be fair I'm not even sure why he's in the game to begin with
@@PressContinue I mean fair enough when ashes came out i didn't even know about him to my friends asked me about the bosses, i thought they ment friede and her dad. Even fromsoft doesn't know why he's in the game. Keep up all the great work my dude.
These runs are the best scripted (and funniest) ones on UA-cam by far, good work! I think a lot of viewers will underestimate how much work it takes to make a polished script like this for even a 30 min video.
Scripting is always the longest and most difficult process in making these videos, yes.
8:13 I didn't expect unironically good life advice from a dark souls 3 challenge tutorial video.

Oh yeah like the bleed dogs that can instakill you while blocking with max vitality. They may have been patched, but I remember.

Well, when it comes to miracle build, I think my chime damage only guide in DS2 is more applicable.
"Int is just blue dex" is a good epitaph.
24:10 LOVE the DSP quotes!
Nice video bro, I love your content! It's nice to have some new quality Dark souls content, especially while waiting for Elden Ring and especially when the last dark souls came out in 2016!
Love from France 😎
This is pretty nice, might give it a try after the chimes only for DS2
Your wordplay is off the charts! Content is top-notch too!
Might try this for my next run after I've finished my shield only run. After having like a 30 minute yhorm fight that staff damage on yhorm is beautiful. Didn't actually try to go for the head tho. Ancient wyvern was also equally painful.

Finally a useful magic build
What a lad, looking forward to your art as always. Keep up the good work and do some of the other souls games too lol
I've been waiting to come back to this. I've just beaten Friede so i can finally see the parts i skipped.
Oooh yeah baby, been waiting for this one. I really enjoyed watching you stream your sl1 run recently and have been looking forward to see what you had in store next for us. Hilarious as always, this video also fills me with a strong desire to grip some hard wood with both hands after watching it. Good choice on the Murky, I noticed recently while playing it actually hits a lot harder than I thought it would at +10 with Blindfold Mask and Dark Clutch Ring and it'sWA active. Found out on accident when I reflexively hit an enemy that survived a great soul dregs with a sliver of health. So I expected it to die, but I didn't expect to see over 300 damage pop up on the screen.
I fun idea might be to do an all bosses run where you only use the element the boss is most resistant to. Sounds like a fun challenge to route equipment-wise.
LOL, that would unironically be a sorcery run for 90% of the playthrough. The majority of bosses are most resistant to magic, some to dark and only a handful to fire or lightning. The only bosses I can think of that is more resistant to lightning over any other elements are DSA and nameless king. Old Demon king, SoC and demon prince are most resistant to fire. From the top of my head for all others it's magic or dark.
Oh and Yhorm is immune to fire

The amount of jokes in this incredible video is highly aprecciated
You probably don't remember, but I complimented you in one of Gamersweekend's streams. Just want to reiterate how awesome your channel is. I always learn new things with your videos, and your sense of humor is great.
Even though you were (I assume) half-joking, I'll point out that sorcery is plenty viable in DS3. It's not broken like in DS1, or as easy to get a handle of as in DS2, but it still trivializes many of the stronger enemies like Lothric/Black/Silver/Winged/Drakeblood Knights, Giants, Deep Accursed. Some bosses too, like Soul of Cinder, and especially the Dancer. It even can make Midir easier. Some bosses are harder, but it's still a viable and fun build.
Is that dsp around the 24:20 mark? lmao Great video, as always my dude!
Using the weapon art to boost the damage of the catalyst is equivalent of a druid casting shillelagh on a quarterstaff in DnD.
Er.... I guess?
Your humor is really.... On point

There indeed is quote the amount of turtles in DS3, that's correct
Learned a few things thank you
I wish more bosses were at least somewhat vulnerable to poison
I don't wanna cheese everything by hiding in the corner, I just want to whittle bosses down over long dramatic battles
27:30 this is peak comedy, great video
What did happen to my beloved " *GRAAAVITYYY* " sound clip? 😢
Yeah I know :( couldn't bonk hard enough
You know I beat frede for the first time after 2 days, i was level 86 and respected a few times....
Watching him do it with poison only at like level 15 hurts me physically
Then you might not want to watch my recent SL1 with a +0 dagger livestream. I don't want to put you in the hospital
I may be 2 years late, but I've specifically played through the entire Friede boss fight with only throwable items for damage.
Poison knives and Dung Pies were how I beat the phase 2 of the boss fight, so i can confirmed that Friede was definitely a pain during Phase 2 with my knife spam but a couple firebombs to stagger her worked very well.
Phase 3 was much easier than Phase 2, Kukri are my beloved.
Wait 17:50 this is the body of the angel ? xD I neve made that connection.

Forget "the club can't handle me", the enemies in this game can't handle your club. Well, your stick, anyway.
In all seriousness, it's amazing how in both DS1 and DS3, staff-only is surprising effective. When you have the right staff, anyway.

Murky Longstaff is amazing but I tend to use the Izalith staff for my Staff bonking.
Just discovered the channel and its awesome! Its funny AND helpful which is super rare for soulsborne content. Usually its one or the other
What the hell is that ending song around the credits and recommended videos, that is a vibe and a half.
Oh you mean the actual outro song? I don't really know. I got it from an hour long or so royalty free metal compilation and it was just a random part from that that I liked so I started using it as my outro music
@@PressContinue Thanks mate, now i'm going to be looking for this for nearly 2 hours straight.

Alternatively, you could do abyss watchers AI freeze glitch and kill them with your ordinary magical stick, and then in catacombs you can loot another dark staff (forgot the name, maybe it was Izalith staff) which also has quite good bashing damage.
