If press continue ever quits UA-cam me and my dog will immediately lose the ability to sleep. Like, whenever my dog hears his voice he immediately conks out. I’ve rewatched some videos tens of times over because it’s the perfect sound of suffering to fall asleep to. Makes me think if press can suffer like that and still remain sane I can too.

Recently found your channel and this is exactly the content I crave: long, arduous, stupid souls challenges and silly puns.
I have a recommendation for you if you care: train build. Put a weight on your keyboard or a rubber band on your controller such that you’re always walking forward. No touching the movement controls; use the camera to turn. I was able to do it in demons souls and ds1+2, but never 3. It was funny. Good luck going down any tall ladders.
I think there's even a mod for that, because I recall that Lobos did an always running run in DS1 a long time ago

I remembered recently that DS2 has a built in challenge run. The Illusory ring challenges.
1 - complete a run without dying
2 - complete a run without resting at a bonfire (can still light them for checkpoints if necessary)
Stacking these together could make for a hard challenge with stakes that only get heavier the deeper you get into it.
Bonus: doing it in NG+ with the extra phantom enemies.
I don't have the skill or commitment for this but could be an interesting idea for another DS2 run if you're looking for more ideas?
Actually I think that's a little overdone I would say. Not recently I guess, but it certainly was back in the day. In fact I have done that myself before I even started my channel.
Also doing it on NG+ is arguably somewhat easier because of repair powders since weapon durability and weapon upgrading is kind of an issue without fast traveling
@@PressContinueperhaps it could be combined with some other challenge to spice things up? That said, I'm not super fond of challenges that involve "and then restart from scratch", I find they tend to encourage really cautious and stressful play rather than interesting problem solving and experimentation.
Is there something interesting you could do with a "genocide run" of DS2 where you aim to deplete the world of everything by killing them enough times? Perhaps by combining it with another less difficult challenge, like "pacifism" (at least outside of boss arenas)? Killing everything and everyone, but without directly attacking them if at all possible, might be interesting 🤔
I think the problem with Allant was his torso hitbox didn't go low enough for the uppercut, but his legs did. So your attacks were only connecting when you were off to his sides.

No, because
1. I don't make actual guides anymore to begin with
2. No time for it. It's only 4 weeks until the ER DLC
3. LIes of P only had a month or 2 in the spotlight before it already fell off unfortunately, so I'll be returning to it once the DLC comes out

@@PressContinue Yeah, used to run a poisoned claw offhand with a baby's nail main hand to proc all 3 statuses during invasions. Followed it up with familiar's prank for the laugh sound effect.

35:00 in the original its possible to get flamelurker caught on the lose brick on the stairs level gemoetry . get unstuck if you poise break him but its much faster than the hide every time stratagy (if you can actually get him stuck anyway... its not easy)
they layout of the Flamelurkers boss arena is one of the few things Bluepoint actually changed which affects gameplay. The most common way to cheese him in the original was behind the bone structure near the fog wall. Another was to sneak up behind him with the thief's ring and use poison mist. The latter can still be done bu not without argoeing him first. The cheese near the fogwall is completely removed though.

At least you're not playing OG Demon's Souls. The Remake changed the lizard spawns to how many times you've killed them instead of how many times you've seen them. I was unpleasantly surprised when I played the original game a few months ago.
Huh? No if they disappear enough times they stop spawning. Otherwise the lizard pit in 2-2 would still full until you've killed them all multiple times.
I just looked it up. They'll keep respawning indefinitely as long as you don't damage them. Once you hit them, their spawn counter goes down by one whether you kill it or not. That was a huge QoL change from OG, besides making them easier to hit and decreasing the aggro range.
@@MrMoridinalthor Oh that makes that cave place with all the wiggly blighters much beter. Focus on one, get it, don't hit what you can't finish, and keep coming back! I'm due anohter Demon's Souls run, and I will for sure bear this in mind.
Still doesn't sound right. That would have required me to at least hit every single lizard in the lizard pit at least once in order for them to stop spawning. I can't imagine that that's true. Perhaps if multiple are on screen, hitting one will count for the others as well?
@PressContinue Maybe it's some combination of factors. All I know is that I ran past the one at the beginning of 2-2 dozens of times farming Spiderstone chunks and going down to Flamelurker.
Did you know there’s an achievement for defeating the Dragon God using the Hand of God? I also would have gone with sharp infusion on the claws for the S Dex scaling and the fact that sharp weapons can still be buffed. And if you don’t find farming for hours, Tearing +5 has some absurd scaling (more than double AR at 25 dex) even if tearing couldn’t be buffed.
LOL, although the remake "fixed" pure bladestone to some extent.... no... that was not even something to consider. Also I'm 99% sure that despite S scaling looking impressive, quality is the same thing but divided over 2 stats. That's why on high levels of dex and strength quality outscales sharp or crushing. And tearing lowers the base damage by a lot and removes buffing so that would have been a terrible option despite that S scaling.

Well the move does zero damage. Technically you can add damage by wearing armor of thorns, but that is 6 damage per hit... so... no.
Yo Press challenge run idea (don’t believe you’ve done it before) if Darksouls 1 you can get infected by the bugs after quaelag and after spending souls or smth the parasite on ur head grows.
This replaces the kick with a headbutt style attack from the parasite that actually deals damage.

Well the main reason I never done that, or orange charred ring kick or anything related to jump attacks... is because way too often those attacks don't come out. So having to do a ton of those attacks repeatedly is just not feasible. Basically you would need some sort of control modification to allow you to do it with a single button press so that it works every single time

Yes, in fact that is one of the things I take in consideration when picking an idea for a run, if I can make an interesting script for it. It's not the only factor obviously and not something would prevent me from a doing a run if it's not wordplay friendly... but I certainly take it in consideration.
