    I lament that this beautiful, empathic , promising young man had to spend most of his life behind bars after dealing with a huge amount of trauma inflicted since early childhood. I hope that he and his brother get soon the chance to experience life as free and happy individuals.

      I empathise with what they endured, but they killed their parent’s. Many grow up under far more brutal circumstances & don’t take that route. Sentimentalising the brothers doesn’t alter the reality & horror of what they did.

      @@michelleb3698 It's not sentimentalizing, it's being compassionate, merciful and understanding. I doubt that there is more brutal circumstances than being so*domised by your own father at age 7 and being denied maternal love .

Empty hardly sleeping . He had so much on his shoulders .. his guilt .. he felt for not knowing wha had been hapoening . The fear escalating after he threateed to expose jose ...
    He was trying so hard to protect Erik while trying to keep his own anger in check.
    You can see his anxiety consume him when he starts to talk about sunday night ...
    Its all so hard to watch . To see him so vunerable and in so much pain.

      I disagree. In a previous trial, Erik had explained that he had attempted to go to Brown university to live on campus but was forced to go into the California university where he had to live at home. It is hard disobeying your parents especially when they’re abusive and threaten killing you if you run away so that would’ve made it extremely difficult for them to get away. Lyle could get away, however since he’s an amazing brother, he did not want to leave Erik

    • @beatlesnU2fan0526
      @beatlesnU2fan0526 28 днів тому +3

      "Why didn't she just leave?" is a classic question we ask of women who were battered, and it completely ignores the reality of being in an abusive environment. Abusive environments make you feel like you are trapped and cannot leave. Erik also tried to run away when he was 12 and his father caught him and told him "you'll never get away, and if you try to run away again, I will kill you." They felt they did not have the option of just running away at the time.

      No. Only bc it's so gruesomely detailed that I can't imagine a young man could make it up without a single hesitation like he did. Remember Amber heard on the stand? Compare the two.
      Plus in the 90's it would have been unheard of to mention unspeakable acts between a father and son. They added so many details that would have been unnecessary ultimately. I imagine a lie would have been much more vague.

    • @mimachan2557
      @mimachan2557 16 днів тому +1

      I agree, he was the reason everything happened. He might have told Lyle a false story, and after the crime, he freaked out, trying to save himself by throwing Lyle under the bus. He went to Dr. Ozil and shared all the details of the crime, especially the part about reloading the gun. I suspect Erik might have instructed Lyle to reload the gun and shoot his mom, as he was the one who first went to car and handled lyle the pieces to reload the gun .
      From what I know, Erik eventually confessed to Dr. Ozil. This happened after a detective visited him a few days earlier, informing him that a newspaper was about to publish a story suggesting Lyle was a suspect in the crime. It’s also strange how Dr. Ozil called Lyle, it was like Erik and dr.ozil wanted to make trap to lyle , which adds another layer of confusion to the situation.
