This movie was a total surprise for me man but I feel like this is such a feel-good underdog story that should be seen on the big screen. A movie that we really needed during some of these more harsh times. Something to make you look up and keep going. What a delight of a movie and the back half really invests you and puts you in the drivers seat (pun intended)
There's something about racing movies that just gets my blood pumping. I love so many of them (Rush, Ford v Ferrari, and others). This one is solid! Maybe it's a little too long and some of the dialogue is kinda cringey, but definitely way better than I was expecting it to be. Great review, Brandon!
I originally had no plans of seeing Gran Turismo but it ended up being the mystery movie at my local theater and it exceeded my expectations. The trailers have been bland but the movie overall was decent and IMO if Sony is serious about making Playstation Studios a thing then this isn't a bad movie to tentpole their studio. Yes, I know Hydro Thunder, I suck at playing it but I know it. There's an arcade about an hour away from me that had Hydro Thunder 2 player set up until the pandemic
Perhaps the most balanced Gran Turismo review on UA-cam. On one hand you find many hyperexcited fanboys claiming this was the best movie ever and on the other hand, several snobby critics discarding it as silly trash, and they all have some good and some not-so-good points, but I personally acknowledge all it's flaws and cheesiness but still enjoyed it for the simple fun time that it brings.
I really enjoyed the movie. As a car guy, it’s hard for me to find a movie that I like especially if it doesn’t include cars. This is my favourite movie I have seen this year. The engine sounds gave me chills everytime. I felt I was there. And as a big gt player despite starting with gt sport. I could relate a lot in the first part where jann was tuning the car in game.
When the credits roll, I just want to watch it again immediately. The only movie that I watched twice in cinema. There are many movies that I like, but the most is I want to watch it again later at home when it's available.
Great movie the summer and years one of thee best I laughed I cried and got me excited all the music was recycled but it fitted so well a big big surprise see it in a good teacher the director is one of my favorite who knew he is gonna direct a simple movie like that I believe he is living in vancouver too

I like concept of the movie is about a popular video game a boy is trying prove his father wrong to achieve the dream his heart desires' but doesn't approve of any of the choices he makes. when I saw the trailer that Friday night before watching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts it got some Rush vibes to it. growing up playing the games brings me nostalgic memories racing around the track in a race car, Orlando Bloom is a good actor in the movie, remember he portrayed as Will Turner from the Pirates of the Caribbean series? he's back on the big screen!
Dude my opinion of any arcade is tied primarily to whether or not they have Hydro Thunder machines. Hydro Thunder or Burnout could easily ridiculous popcorn movies and I dont think anyone would be mad.
100% agree with the "both sides of the brain" i knew logically it was kind of mediocre editing at points, but it didnt stop me from LOVING LOVING this anyways like im baffled how much of an impression it made on me
