A little roger daltrey (the who) thingy. He used to do that several times each show back in the days. I laughed when I saw robert doing this on this record 😅
It's really hard to think of another musician who could have come up with the keyboard parts on Trampled Underfoot, the bassline for Ramble On and the lap steel on When The Levee Breaks. A staggering talent.
Just think, it had been 28 years since Jason first played this song with Zeppelin. For those that don't know, he sat in with them at soundcheck for the '79 Knebworth show so John could go out in front of the stage and listen to the sound balance. He had Jason rehearsing the song all week for that, and he was only 13! The band didn't even realize it wasn't John playing until one of them happened to look back at the drums, lol.
Your right and I've heard that story before but did you know that the cops were called during the rehearsal because they were getting complaints 13 miles away.. Now that's rock and roll, btw I have seen them 3 times at MSG in NYC 1973, 1975 and 1977. I miss them but I'll always have my memories and I can watch them on UA-cam since I was at the Song Remains The Same concert and I found some pretty decent bootleg recordings of the 1975 and the 1977 concerts from Madison Square Garden. I found them on UA-cam, there is a site that specializes in Led Zeppelin bootlegs..
Really makes you wonder why they didn't pick Jason for their Live Aid reunion in 1985. But then again, their Live Aid reunion sucked for other reasons as well.
Ok, I must say this. I'm so thankful that Jason Bonham, got to sit in his Father's set. As far as I am concerned. Jason, is a member of Led Zeppelin. This is an awesome song.
Other than John, I think that Jason is the ONLY drummer the fans will accept sitting in his dad's place. But, there is no Led Zeppelin. This was a one off for Ahmet Ertegun, the head of Atlantic Records who loved Zep, and his wife asked if they would do it. Robert has no interest in going around "playing the hits" as he said in the interview with Charlie Rose. Also, he still stands by Zeppelin calling it quits when John died.
The dude has been riding on the coattails of his dad his whole life. I think they could have gotten a better drummer. But like you said, led Zeppelin fans are annoying bunch . Also I never understood why Robert plant was always self conscious about his vocals? The dude still got fucking pipes! Sure he's not gonna hit those notes but he's older what the fuck are people smoking when plant is still good compared to Ozzy or Paul, or the Who.
@@alejandrocisneros7442 coattails of his dad? are you as stupid as you sound here? do you think fucking Led Zeppelin would let him play drums if he wasn't worthy? I think not.

Jason Bonham. I'm met the guy. He couldn't have been nicer. Following in his Father's Footsteps with true admiration. Greatest band of all time, hands down.
JPJ was literally the Tap-Root of Led Zeppelin. Especially when it came time for them to start writing original music and stop emulating the old 1940-50's American Blues. Which did make them so good. But it was his talent, ornamented by his mates, that gave them that original sound.
I do too, but Robert wouldn't do it. He felt that it would be going backwards in his musical journey, and more importantly, without John there, there's no question in his mind that he still stands by what they said in 1980 when they disbanded.
Page playing straight and sober is beyond amazing...I dare say they found better here than they did in their heyday..Shame they did not tour in 2008 and beyond
I think the Beatles are the overall greatest band of all time due to their influence on the entire music industry and how pioneering they were, but if you’re talking about a band of absolute raw talent, there has never been 4 people play like Led Zeppelin. Truly the greatest 4 individuals to play music together of all time
And boys & girls, this is how it's done. The three original members are pensioners now, but they still can outplay all of the newer bands. They epitomize the height of honed talent, skill, and creativity. My only regret is never having seen them live. Zeppelin will forever be the foundation and best band rock ever!
Yes its is. My 2nd favorite Led Zeppelin album behind Led Zeppelin-2. Bought Led Zeppelin-2 in 1969, when I was 14 yrs old. Bought Physical Graffiti 1975, was I on Okinawa with the United States Marine Corps.

The thing about LZ, is that you could listen to every different musician and be amazed by the sound they are creating. And somehow, they manage to merge their ungodly talents into songs that just never get old. Coming from a 23 yr old. Best band ever.
Jason brings the sound up to date by decades. They could/should have toured with him since 1988. Or by not doing so does this make them more legendary?
There's no point if it's not artistically challenging. If they'd made an album after this gig maybe a second go would have worked but like how the Page/Plant reunion ended up, it just goes back to playing most of the old shit over and over and over again.
