During the summer of 1979, Led Zeppelin performed two concerts at Knebworth Stadium in England. While sound-checking prior to the first show, the band was playing "Trampled Underfoot" when Jimmy Page saw Bonzo standing out where the audience would soon be. So he turned around, and to his surprise and delight, saw Jason BEHIND THE DRUMS! He started to smile and laugh. When John Paul Jones saw Jimmy laughing, HE turned around, saw Jason playing, and started smiling and laughing, too! After they finished the song, Bonzo went back up onstage and said to his three bandmates--by then, Robert Plant was smiling and laughing, too--and said, "Now I can actually say I SAW Led Zeppelin!"

What John Bonham also did was to teach Jason (12years of age at this point) other drummers tunes like The Whos Keith Moon. So when John got asked what he thought of Keith Moons drumming, he would reply........"my 12 year old can play that" 🤣🤣🤣class act

He needs to hook up with a Billy Sheen level Bass Player and a Guthrie Vai Level Guitarists and a Good Singer with some smart Lyrics. Even if you don't hit Zeppelin level success you at least did your own thing.

Even his dad and the rest of the band improvised and mixed it up BIG TIME on stage. So many live performances that we can see/hear now that shows the mighty Zeppeliin mixing it up. They were/are all consummate musicians that CAN and DO listen to each other and create an exciting and unique musical performance each and every time! As a drummer, I think what Jason is doing is utterly brilliant. Pays homage to the original drum part but also brings it to a different level...puts his own stamp on it. Joe Rico Musicians are typically very accessible and easy people to work with. I’ve found the most successful of them to often be the most open. They get asked a lot of really dumb questions so are delighted to engage in any real conversation. Touring is the loneliest thing anyone can do for a living.
