It's really concerning that the Jedi didn't take anything of what Dooku said into account. Dooku told 100% the truth. It's actually a deceitful tactic in war. Many enemies would never expect you to tell them the truth. It's one of the perfect ways to fool your enemy. Instead of lying about your true plans, you actually tell them the truth. And they'll be dumbstruck. Perhaps though at that point in time Dooku had some allegiance towards the Jedi still. So he tried to destroy palpating somehow.
He was looking out for Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon really had an impact on Dooku .

I love that legends will forever live on, even though none of it matters. It's SO interesting to compare it to canon and see stories told in a different way.

Palpatine learned how to disguise his force sensitivity extremely well, so much so that even Plagueis had a hard time figuring out if he had the force.

Fact Free Naboo was part of the Republic for 847 years and Palpatine was 50 in episode 1 and he was a child that time so he could not know how to disguise his force sensitivity
actually as a child Palpatine as a kid knew how to disquise his force senstivity, especially when in the book about Plaguise. Plaguise himself had an extremely hard time figuring out if Palpatine had the force as a kid because Palpatine hid his force senstivity so well
Besides, the Jedi can't go around all the worlds in the galaxy to test all children.

Again? Why are people still mistaken about this subject? You said the Midi-Chlorians are essentially the Force itself, which isn't true. I have no problem with the midi-chlorians by the way, in fact I like this part of the Star Wars universe. It makes it more like they did research what the Force was and why only a few people can use/channel it. It doesn't interfere at all with what we learn about it in the original trilogy. With that said:
The Force is an energy field that connects all living things in the galaxy while Midi-chlorians are microscopic, intelligent life forms that originated from the foundation of life in the center of the galaxy, and reside within the cells of all living organisms, forming a symbiotic relationship with their hosts.
The Force SPEAKS THROUGH the midi-chlorians, allowing certain beings to use the Force if they are sensitive enough to its powers. It is still the mysterious energy field we learned about in episode 4. The midi-chlorians are just living organism, a bit like what mitochondrias are in our cells. They AREN'T the Force.

I like to view Midiclorians as a way that the Jedi of the prequel era/ clone wars era were less spiritual in their actions and more scientific
I agree completely with that statement. Like most I used to view the Midiclorians with distain, however after discovering (shockingly) that they existed in the original drafts in 1977, as well as extensive research Ive come to accept them. Lucas invented the Midiclorians as a way to determine ones power in the force. In my opinion I believe the reason people dislike the Midiclorians was simply because they were poorly explained. I believe that had the exposition been better they wouldn't have gotten the bad reception that they had. It is interesting to note that after 19 BBY The Midiclorians are rarely (if ever) mentioned in further EU books. There are in my opinion 2 reasons for this, one being an in universe explanation and the other being an outworld explanation. The first being that, its very likely that all the information on Midiclorians was lost after the Jedi purge as Luke was able to find no information regarding them. However I believe the most likely explanation is that after seeing peoples reaction to the Midiclorians, they were quietly written out of continuity.
Implicit in this view is the idea that there is an inherent and irreconcilable conflict between the spiritual and the scientific. I see the midi-chlorians as a repudiation of this view. The Force is universal. Its presence may be revealed through scientific investigation just as well as through spiritual meditations--it simply reveals itself in a different way.

the biggest issue i have with the jedi, was how they never figured out how secret information was falling into enemy hands. All they had to do was compare missions that Palpatine knew about and how they ended, to missions they didn't tell him about and see the difference. Ago old tactics of leaking false information to find spys would have narrowed down the possibilities of who the leak was.
The biggest reason why they didn't do it.

LockedInLego They would get shot down. You don't have to cover every inch of a planet's orbit, you just have to get enough coverage to insure that a ship doesn't slip through.
I’m pretty sure midichlorians were meant to be seen as a consequence rather than a cause. They don’t cause the force, they feed off of it - if the force is a river flowing through someone, then the midichlorians are the organisms that live within that river (i.e. algae or fish).

Dooku was the good guy all along. He was the leader of the separatists, which were basically the republic, but less cruel, becouse they don't sacrifice millions of clone lives for the war to end. Dooku warned the jedi, that the Republics integrity is in danger. He also had several opportunities to kill Obi-Wan however he spared him EVERY TIME. His plans to overthrow Palpatine would be succesful and the war would end if only he had more time. The fact he's a dark side user doesn't mean he's bad. Somehow several Jedi use the force choke and don't get punished. Plo Koon even knew the electric judgement which was banned by the Jedi.

Actually, this was kinda explained in one of the lost episodes of the Clone Wars. There is a ancient Sith shine under the Jedi temple that Ashoka discovered. Palpatine knew of this and was able to harness this power, allowing him to mask his power, even when he visited the Jedi temple

Thanks for this since it's been bugging me. I've read SW material that said casinos would force patrons to take a blood test if someone started to win too often and it got me the Senate never bothered with that. Yet considering how hard it is to get real-world politicians to disclose personal/financial matters then it doesn't come off as a surprise in the slightest. Thank you.

I wonder if the Jedi made the connection how strange it was that the Separatists forces increased over 5 times in just a short amount of time? And how they seemed ready for them after they just got done telling Palpatine where they were going?
When Dooku said that "hundreds of senators are now under the influence of a Sith Lord called Darth Sidous" he didn't mean influence through the force, but rather political influence. That's probably why the Jedi didn't investigate anyone in the Senate (including Palpatine) for midi-chlorians, because they were aware of this fact, plus early on in the Clone Wars none of the Jedi suspected palpatine of foul play, that came later as he obtained further power for himself.
Plus this sort of manipulation fits in with Palpatine's modus-operandi as he orchestrated the Clone Wars by influencing the Senate both from the front in his capacity as Chancellor and from behind by controlling galactic corporations such as the Trade Federation (who he had as puppets dangling from his strings) which many Senators depended on not only for their own professions, but also the professions of their home world populace. Finally lets not forget that many of the big multi-plannetary corporations of the galaxy were ultimately under Palpatine's control and dancing to his tune in the form of the Separatist alliance via Count Dooku.

And even if only Jedi could sense the midichlorians themselves, that's still critical information and would have to be logged and verified at the moment the identification sample was taken...very clever, it's a wonder those two Jedi hadn't figured on that...

I liked that you used the clone wars episode to represent what you meant. Because you were completely right I forgot his name, but he wanted them to completely destroy the people of that planet. But the Jedi would not do this because it was against their beliefs.
