Dooku was pretty much spoon feeding the Jedi the answer they need in EP2. He specifically said that the senate was under the control of a dark lord. Well, who controls the senate? The chancellor of course. Who else do the Jedi think he is inferring to?
And even if they do indeed know who Dooku might be inferring to, the fact that they chose to dismiss the idea is also unreasonable since they at the same time decided to believe the exact same accuse from Anakin in EP3 who happened to be the man they doubted most at the time.

      @DarkDyllon Рік тому +8

      kinda interesting though.
If the Jedi demanded an blood test for midiclorian counts and some would deny this, the Jedi could literally say "ok, fine, then we withdraw from battle"
The main reason why the war was in favor of the Jedi and the senate was because of the Jedi being natural leaders for the clones and forming bonds, without the Jedi, the clones would be lost and would basically be droids.
Most squads who were led by Jedi's like Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Mace, Yoda etc had their own distinct personality.
This wouldn't have happened without them since then the newer Clones wouldn't get this unlocked, since it's mostly just drummed into their head that they're expendable, while the Jedi drummed it into their head that they're absolutely not expendable.

Knightfall protocol - to safeguard the order for future generations a large amount of the jedi order going to the unknown regions and to words like Ossus and Tython , this would mean if the sith somehow took the jedi out, many more would be alive waiting to battle the sith again . The Jedi council never did this and it would of ensured sidious would never prevail

I love the idea that a single pairing of essentially no-name Master and Apprentice Jedi almost stopped Palpatine single handedly. It highlights why people and Palpatine himself are a little mistake when they say the Jedi are arrogant as a whole, and why even the Council valued a Jedi like Qui-Gon to the point of considering him for placement among their ranks: The Jedi are not entirely the dogmatic monolith that others mistake them for.

Lucas could have kept midichlorians in the SW universe without it sounding nearly as goofy as it did in the prequels. Instead of midichlorians being a cause of force sensitivity, they could have just been an indicator of it. That is, they could have been a microorganism that thrived in force sensitive individuals but did not actually mediate their level of sensitivity. So the test would still work: someone with a high count would be more force sensitive than someone with a lower count. But making them a kind of symbiotic parasite just sounds. . . disappointing. It also leaves open the possibility that someone could develop a cure or vaccine for them and wipe out both the Jedi and the Sith with a comprehensive public health initiative.

Funny you mention that... because that's basically what happened to the Rakatan Infinite Empire... no one actually knows for sure whether the virus that ended their Empire was natural or bio-engineered... or perhaps the Force Itself created it, but their Infinite Empire fell to a virus that attacked their Midichlorians (but seemed to not attack the Midichlorians in other species), this killed off the vast majority of their species, and left the remainder cut off from The Force.

You know it's funny; I never really wondered this. Not because I don't think it would have been a good idea, but because, much like in real life, I see that just isn't how things work. At the risk of being a bit political, I've had times where I've wondered, even thought it's how it should be, that children should be logged. At a young age, they should have blood samples, and finger prints, put into a database, and then later down the line, they could be identified, if need be. I know that sounds much worse, and more invasive, than I'd want it to be. I'd more be imagining being able to identify unfortunate John/Jane Does, or maybe kidnapped children, but unfortunately it would go beyond that. While it might be nice to imagine that any search for a possible criminal might actually come back with a result, even if they hadn't been accused, and processed before, this catching criminals after their first violations would still be a huge I vadion of privacy, and even people who have committed a crime do have the right to not incriminate themselves, which an existing dossier gained from them before they even dud anything would probably be seen as. Naive of me, but possibly very invasive of authority.
I see that here, too. The Senators would be among the highest level of Lords, nobles, and representatives in the galaxy. I don't know if they might have something akin to diplomatic immunity, but I imagine they could strongly resist, even in the face of some evidence, while stronger pushes against thar resistance might just force even more places to join the opposing faction, and that doesn't even scratch the diversity of the Republic. Obviously, many of these representatives weren't human, and even humans gad many differing belief structures, like we do. They have different gods, histories, sins, and more. Amy one of them might have beliefs against such blood tests, or other elements of the search; it was in some ways this forced diversity, and division of common ground, that helped make the Republic so ineffective. I can totally see Palpatine coming up with some way to fake his test, and then force even more conflict, as various people refused to take part in the witch hunt, where there was no proof, and where even most of the greater galaxy didn't even know what these "Sith" were, apart from a defunct, ancient religion, or just evil Jedi, and the Jedi certainly weren't going to explain it, and draw more attention to, and possibly even support of, their ancient foes.

This ability was created by the lineage of Bane sith to hide their true nature from the jedi and the galaxy. honestly, mandatory blood testing is a slippery slope even at the best of times, and by the time TPM came about, Gattaca was already released, genetic screening and genetic based discrimination dystopian stories where all the rage at the end of the 1990s, in TPM Palpatine would have been what? 52 years old, even if the Jedi order had such a screening policy that all Republic children be screened for Midiclorian borth, as even at the age of 9 and the fact he was living in the outer rim, something that they state in the movie, had he lived in the core world's his gifts would have been noticed and he would have been taken to join the order, there is all likelihood that Sheev Palpatine being the child of a prominent Naboo Political aristocratic family, Cosinga Palpatine could have very well sought to hide his son's force powers and count from the Jedi as the House of Palpaitne was well established to be a conservative and isolationist family, all the good that might have done for poor old Cosinga and the rest of his bloodline save Sheev, but how often have we seen right and politically powerful families use their saw to fake records, just look at things like Operation: Varsity Blues had Cosinga not shielded Sheev from screening or even detection by the Jedi council, being the eldest son of the family would have been by degree inducted into the order. further more Anakin was 9 in TPM, and the council deemed him too old to train, had it not been for the massive Midiclorian count and the will of Obi-wan to fulfill Qui-Gon Jinn's final request, Anakin might have ended up in something we've yet to see (to my knowledge to let me know and point me in the director of the books to read) what happens to younglings or even force sensitives who avoid detection until much later in life and the Jedi find them, those who haven't fallen in with the Sith (albeit by the time of TPM the Sith were thought to be gone or a myth by much of the galaxy at large, and the Jedi Order) think of a Fortress Inquisitorius like location (possibly one in the same) where The Jedi council kept a dark hidden secrete, one of if you didn't join the order or you failed them you either died in battle or were frozen and imprisoned, and the only reason the Lost where permitted to simply just leave is because the galaxy at large would have questioned their disappearances without a active war where investigations could get lost in the paperwork.

This might be a stupid question but couldn’t Palpatine have given over blood that wasn’t his and claim it as so? I’m sure he could have extracted some from his folks

What would it matter if they tested his blood? What would it matter if they knew his midichlorian count? Knowing how to use The Force doesn't increase your midichlorian count. Likewise, having a high midichlorian count is absolutely no proof that a person knows how to use The Force. You talk about the Jedi's hubris, that they were so arrogant, that it wouldn't allow them to sense a Sith Lord or Dark Side user on "the council". You... you do realize that even you just referenced Windu saying that the Dark Side surrounds the chancellor, right? You don't think that would've been more of a red flag than knowing his midichlorian count? Also, the Jedi are an arm for the Republic. They serve the Republic. They are not in control of the senate or any politicians. They don't make the rules and then force their rules upon free representatives of sovereign planets. They can't just snap their fingers and then force all senators to donate blood to the Jedi.

Palpatine 20,000? No! No one knows his midi count. Only the Sidious fan boys believe it to be higher than Yoda's.
We don't know exactly how Sidious compares to Yoda. Lucas was intent on keeping this information secret.
But the fan boys have made up thier own numbers and debated it to the point many considered it to be Cannon... it is not.
Lucas was a genius! By not answering certain questions, you don't create lose ends. Disney has tried to answer some questions, only to find out that it creates conflicts and confusion. The fan base is to knowledgeable.

Well its said in the lucas canon original trilogy novels that Palpatine grew stronger over time after EP3,
And he was already atleast as strong in the force as Yoda in EP3

It was also why Palps was so pissed at Dooku for cutting of Anakins arm in Episode 2.
he lost his arm so an portion of his true potential.
sure he became much stronger over the course of the clone wars and into episode 3, but that was because he was becoming better at using the force, becoming older and learning his own fighting style etc.
When Obi-Wan cut down Anakin, he lost an giant portion of his force potential, also that his body as an whole was basically on life support, an vader who didn't suffer these wounds would be truly terrifying.

    Pffft. Amateur.
Palpatine should have agreed to the blood tests, but in such a way that would allow him to covertly ditch his own blood sample and swap it with someone else's. Then not only would he have convinced the Jedi that he was on their side looking for the secret sith lord, but were it revealed to them in any other way that that sith lord was Palpatine, he would have already sowed doubt and indecision in the council, and an unwillingness to accept that truth.
Essentially, if they ever found out that he was the real sith lord, he would have already ensured that the information would put them at *each others'* throats instead of at his.
Instead he got two of the people most likely to come to his defense -- to say that the secret sith couldn't possibly be him -- two of his most easily-manipulated and useful pawns -- taken right out of the game. About the only worse thing he could have done is if he used his own blood sample to implicate someone else.
