I’m near 70 and wasn’t a fan of Queen when I was young. I watched Bohemian Rhapsody and fell in love with the story, the music and the message Freddie was conveying. Now I am a Queen fan… better late than never!
WOW--Same with me. I'm 67, always loved Queen's music when I was young but never really knew much about the band itself. BoRap had me in tears. I've watched it more times than I can recall and have been watching every video I can find on Freddie Mercury and the awesome band. My older son (35) is a huge Queen/Mercury fan!!
The movie definitely embellished heavily for the sake of making entertaining drama, but most of the bullet points were pretty spot on, and this scene alone had the highest priority for 1:1 replication out of any other section. This scene is probably the closest we'll ever have to Bluray quality recording equipment at the actual concert. There were straight up points in reviewing the footage from the real concert where cast and crew could not tell it from what they were recording for the movie, they were that specific about replicating it beat for beat.
Rami did such a beautiful job and definitely deserved that Oscar, I don't care what anybody says Bohemian Rhapsody is one of my favorite films and it's so beautiful and I may have dropped a tear or two when I first saw it
I remember this entire concert, it was unbelievable. BUT, Queen owned it, Freddie Mercury was amazing and the spontaneity of the crowd interaction was something that Hollywood could only dream of concocting. People have their finest hours in life and this was Queens.
thank you for your shared words ❤... I'll enjoy the concert albums the movie... Any additional insights... let's share this with friends and family ☆♡ ...
First, nobody will EVER be Freddie Mercury again. He is and will always be, the one and only. Second, this was a wonderful comparison. It was nice to see how great the cinematography was in the movie compared to reality.
The attention to details is commendable. Even the Pepsi cups, the small adjustment to the amplifier before playing, the little shimmy across the stage.
Respect to Rami Malek - he deserved his Oscar having the courage to fit in the biggest shoes I have even seen. But still...Sorry...This video only proves how unique and inimitable is Freddie! He is just one and only - the energy, the charisma, the look on his face ! He is just ..immortal.
Wow, wow wow. Thank you for creating this. Brought tears to my eyes. Live Aid was once only once in a lifetime experience. Freddie Mercury has and never will be surpassed for his genius. His command of the crowd and showmanship....wow.
I am currently 59 years old and grew up on Queen, Boston. Aerosmith .... you name it. (I also loved a lot of the up-and-coming bands that came out of Boston and the local areas.) One of my biggest regrets was not being able to see Queen live, in concert. It was always something: no money for tickets or couldn't get the time off from work. I was 21 years old and remember watching Live Aid on TV and just being in my total glory - I couldn't be there however that was the next best thing. Freddy was a real legend, and he is much missed.
Freddie is missed! What is it? Where is the real Freddie? Where is the alive Freddie? That *** is not Freddie! Freddie is missed and loved! That is the terrible ghost! We want to see the real Live Aid 1985! Freddie, forgive your "friends" and bandmates and fans for that biopic! Forgive us! Tomorrow is the... 24.11.24 It was about 7 o'clock at the Live Aid... It was about 7 o'clock when you left
True. Nothing like Freddie. Same clothes, teeth (why???) and a good imitation of the moves that's all. Freddie was full of life and joy and that was missing completely.
Great performance by Remy! I remember when Freddy passed away - it was one of the saddest moments of my life. I didn't have the luck to listen to him live, but as long as there are people on Earth, he will be remembered! For me he was the best - rest in peace!
I was driving to work and the radio station played 3 queen songs back to back, then announced that Freddie had died, I nearly crashed the car ,R.I.P Freddie, you will never be forgotten
At 5:52, the cameraman is directly shooting Freddie from the back in the real version, so if you look behind Rami in the movie version, the cameraman man is actually there. The level of detail in this whole scene is mind blowing.
Thanks to the person who has provided us with a direct comparison of an historic concert with a filmed reconstruction of the same event. This has made me so much more aware of how skilled Rami Malek was in portraying such a dynamic character as Freddie Mercury. Today we are so cavalier about the intense work that goes into special effects and such but Rami had to study Freddie’s mannerisms to the enth degree to carry it off so perfectly. To those who criticize this performance … and how could you just looking at this great simultaneous comparison … just get over yourself! So there!
The Live Aid section was the first thing they filmed during production, reportedly because they figured that if they couldn't get such an iconic performance right, the rest of the film would be pointless.
I'm not an emotional person but this raises a tear. Perhaps partly because I was lucky enough to see Queen at Wembley in 1986 supported by Status Quo. Freddie somehow filled the stadium with his presence. It can't be explained, it had to be experienced.
I love all this guys, this great musicians, this perfect group 💖 Thank you Brian, Roger, John, Freddie for make my life a better one 🙏 Will never forget one of you! In love Michael.
No I don’t think that way. It’s because we lost Freddie!! I still LOVE to see Brian play!! He’s phenomenal also!! They all are!! We’re just sad that we lost Freddie!! Especially how he passed. RIP Freddie!!
Fr! He literally wrote We Will Rock You! And Hammer To Fall, Keep Yourself Alive, The Show Must Go On. Or Roger Taylor! He wrote Radio Ga Ga and A Kind Of Magic. Or John Deacon! He wrote You're My Best Friend, Another One Bites the Dust and I Want to Break Free. But I can understand why people always talking about Freddie Mercury and not them. He died at a young age because of AIDS and he announced that he had the disease only 1 day before he died. And he's the soloist of the group.
Thanks to whoever put this up. At the beginning of the Queen movie.I thought rami male was never going to work but by the end I could hardly tell the difference between him and Freddie. An amazing performance and what a tribute.
Something tells me that Freddie would be really happy and proud to know that this movie brought people’s interest back to his music and helped younger generations to get acquainted with the music and the band. I think hes smiling down on this and Adam Lambert touring with Brian and Roger.
He probably would have hated the movie. I think they shouldn’t have made a Freddie mercury movie without Freddie being alive to be a part of production
I regularly play my copy of my 4k copy of Bohemian Rapsody. I love it. I saw it the cinema and pre ordered it. I love watching the actual live aid version as well. I just love watching Freddie Mercury. He was amazing.
Minunat să revăd acest concert din 1985,mulțumesc UA-cam ptr asta,....cea mai bună, cea mai adevărată voce,îmi este dor de tine,doamne....❤❤😢,te iubesc și acum.❤

@@BexySitch Such the conversationalist you must feel you are, so stop lying to yourself. Can you do better than Rami Malek did? Such an actor Rami, such a man Freddie, he was more than a singer, he had that power to bring together so many people and make them interact together. This is powerful. Thanks for this video.

Agree and good to mention credit the other actors and impressed with the drummer acting as well in this video comparison.
