Did you new all that dancing did a man in that film. I never did see this acters anymore!!!!
12 out of 10...This music helped me get my first job, when I left the Airforce...In the 80's...hah... It inspired me right through... Hah..
R.I.P. Irene Cara. I graduated high school in 1977. The dirty dancing disco era was awesome, and this song is still legendary. What a feeling.
Yes, I found that out after I posted previously. RIP. A beautiful woman and an excellent singer.
Graduated 1978. Yes what an era. Saw this in theater and had cassette soundtrack!
Me too class of 77. My mother died the year before. This movie helped hang in..
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!
Feeling's believing!
One of many reasons why the 80s was the best decade ever!
For me the 50s 60s and 70s the best decades 😂
Absolutely
why not?@@CliftonCosta
Hamburgers are gorgeous until you eat a steak - Same with the 80s compared to at least two or three decades earlier (in my opinion)
Exactly! :)
No matter how time flies, this track, along with this dance is simply priceless and timeless! RIP Irene Cara, you were loved by us all and for making our teenage years a wonder.
My favorite movie ❤❤❤
Me too! Or one of my favorites. Good Lord I was young back then.
@@jeffshultz3883 , We all were Jeff, but what a time it was!!! Glad that we had the privilege of being there... Cheers man/Roby.
My grandma was a backup dancer for this film.
@@j.d.contreras392 , That is indeed nice to hear. I was a teenager around 13 when Irene Cara belted out this timeless classic, Gosh I do feel like Methuselah now...🤣🤣
The 80's were the best time of my life!!! The 80's music was the best dancing music!!! The most memorable moments of fun and excitement!!! She is a fantastic dancer!! 💃💃💃...Love this movie.....
The choreography along with the music is epic and timeless. It doesnt matter if you are a metalhead ,a rapper, an RNB fan, it's just impossible not to be touched by this masterpiece
Merci
I went into labor watching this.Made myself wait until the end and off to the hosp.
I wonder how many hours and hours this young lady had to rehearse to get this scene so very, very perfect !
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 teared up yo !

RIP Irene Cara. Your song made this movie.
We'll grew up watching these beautiful movies!! I'm almost 60 yeah and I just quit my job today !! :
My parents named me Alexandra after they saw this movie together ❤. Mom emailed me this video the other day. What a blessing to be born to the 2 greatest parents of all time ❤️
Sweet!
I always said if I ever had a daughter (which sadly never happened) it would be an Alexandra. Both because of Alexander the Great and, mainly, because of Flashdance :). Kudos to you and your parents! ❤

FYI >>> Marine Jahan was Jennifer Beals' body double for the dancing scenes. Alex's leap through the air in the audition scene was done by gymnast Sharon Shapiro and the break-dancing was done by Crazy Legs. Play it in slow motion and you will see. :)

Why did you have to ruin my teenage fantasies?😹😹😹
Such a beautiful woman. A little 80s breakdance move in her routine. The 80s. What an amazing decade to be alive. I was in high school from 80 to 84. Big hair, video game parlors, Van Halen, and Flashdance! And, no mobile phones! Hellz yeah! 😎🤟
Man, I remember watching this movie a couple of times back in the day. Dancing and staying fit was my thing. Thanks for the memories.
Timeless! I’m sure that song inspired millions to take a chance and believe in themselves
That's true!
That movie in 80s was great i give it a 10,
R.I.P Irene Cara you will live forever in this song
40 years ago! Still get that 'jivin'' feeling when going through those beautiful movies of our young, dreamy days.
Flashdance was a FANTASTIC movie !!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
ADD FOOTLOOSE THE ORIGINAL AND DIRTY DANCING 💃 ❤❤❤❤❤
Hard to believe it’s been 40 years since this film came out. I saw it with some female friends. When she came running out of the audition and Nick was waiting for her, the entire theatre erupted in applause, especially the women.
I was 2nd middle school goer when I saw this movie with my friend..,He took his father money often to play around those times…Otherwise, how could we see this movie at penniless time…thanks to the friend, got a unforgettable time..
Классный друг 🔥✊🏻
I can't believe it was a man that did the final sequence. You could barely tell from the wig. This guy did an excellent job and this is one of my favorite movies of all time. God I loved the 80's!
Did not realise it then, but what a feeling it was being young then
She is 59 now and still looks amazing. Good for her
Truly one of the 80's best; no doubt!
НЕВЕРОЯТНАЯ!!! ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНОЕ ИСПОЛНЕНИЕ!!! БРАВО!!! 🎉
They used 3 different people to do this "dance" scene. Marine Jahan was Jennifer Beals' body double for the dancing scenes. Jahan was kept hidden from the press because the filmmakers did not want to ruin the illusion. Alex's leap through the air in the audition scene was done by gymnast Sharon Shapiro and the break-dancing was done by Crazy Legs a MALE break dancer.
Wow! learn something new every day. A guy, who'd thought
@@davep6977 So many, here, saying how gorgeous she was and she was not even there.
Reminds me of the time I was a body double for Schwarzenegger.
@@rcnelson 👍😆👍😂👍😃👍
Great info - had not heard about the male break dancer. On Blade Runner a similar thing was done though not planned - Daryl Hannah’s gymnast double is a man, he was the teacher for the intended female double and took over when she got too tired.
Irene Cara and this song is an 80's icon. Brings me back in time each time I listen to this song. My condolences to her family. R.I.P Irene Cara. You'll be always with me everytime I listen to your song.
I was 18 when i went to this movie with my girlfriend at the theatres in Los Angeles on a friday evening in the summer what a memory i am 82 now how the times have passed by, she's still my wife today ❤
Well done my friend, well done.
How can you be 82 if you saw this movie when you were 18?
I can sympathize with your feeling. But it doesn't add up. This movie came out in 1984. Even if you saw this in 1984 at 18, you would be 58, not 82. Your children might have gone to this movie with their dates.
Are you sure that was this Movie? It must be a movie that came out in 1960.
Closest to this is the West Side story that came out in 1961
I saw this movie also in 83-84 when I was 18 yrs old in turkey and still in turkey, I am 59 today in '24 how the fuck you get to be 82 and I am 59. One of us is lying bro...
Thank you! Weird crazy how time flies! ❤️❤️
This is a classic dance sequence that will always be remembered. It was a thrill to see in the movie theater at the time that it premiered.
We don’t have good movies like this anymore. I’ve searched. We need more good feel good movies that make us feel good.
I like the beer version better.
The woman had a beautiful, powerful body. Wish I was young again.

This is probably one of the best dance scene in any movie. The soundtrack is iconic and everytime i hear the title track i want to dance. We had so much joy and excitement in music and film in the 80s.

Exhilarating finale. People were cheering and clapping in the theater back then. I felt like dancing in the aisle.
Great memory.
A great movie will do that!
Why?
Cheering even tho it's not really Jennifer Beals dancing ..😌

Everyone talking about Irene Cara, yes, beautiful music, but let’s no forget about this spectacular performance by Jennifer Beals and Marine Jahan 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍
But without the perfect soundtrack there would have been no movie. Actresses and dancers are dime a dozen. The perfect song is rare.
U know crazy legs a guy did some of the dancing right

How quickly the years have passed. Irene may have faded from consciousness but this magnificent song will live on. RIP Irene 1959-22
One of the best dance scenes ever. The guy who actually did the breakdancing parts was only 16 years old at the time. That's Crazy Legs Richard Colon. The leap through the air was actually done by a gymnast and the rest of it was done by the same dancer who did most of the moves in the Maniac scene, Marine Jahan. It looks so incredible because it took 3 experts to do it. Irene Cara. RIP
