15:21 Doctor Joe, where I live people back or fry the slime from the okra. Will the above cooking crippled the okra ???
@@alfonzial.hollinsiii2592 I'd rather you don't fry it by the way especially using saturated fat oils
@drjoetvMD G nite no I won't fry it I put it in my soup I don't use cooking oil at all
Can I use flax if I don’t have chia
@@annettecampbell6493 Yes, you can
Years ago my husband had high Cholesterol. The Dr wanted to put him on pills. I said to give me 3 months and I could get it down. All I did was change his breakfast. I made him:
1 serving of Oat Bran
1 Tbsp ground flax seeds
1 Tbsp ground hemp seed
1 Tbsp chopped walnuts.
Little bit of sweetener
This worked like a charm. His Cholesterol was perfect when we saw the Dr in 3 months. The Dr couldn’t believe it. We love our Oatbran mixture. Thank you for these great videos. I have learned so much. I will be implementing more things into our lives.
I love your courage, Wendy. Way to go. Well done
Instead of oats bran can we use wheat bran or wheat germ?
@@beautyhealthguidance6061 Yes, you can
Thanks for reply.
like your combination , how did you do it? blend them, or just mixed them and gave them to your husband.
I reduced my cholesterol from 300 to 195 by eating oat bran, not oats, OAT BRAN. You mix it with some hot water, stir and wait few minutes. You can add some salt, honey, chopped up apples, raisins, egg, cinnamon, wheat bran, or anything you’d like. You can make a big batch and keep it refrigerated. You can mix it with yogurts, add it to smoothies, make gravies with it, make muffins using almond flour, buckwheat and oat bran, so many possibilities. Thank you Dr. Joe for all these wonderful videos. I’m old school and do my own research but lots of youngsters nowadays don’t know how to eat healthy. They live on processed food so we need doctors like you to hopefully point them in the right direction. Thank you.
Very welcome
Thank you Dr Joe

Okra deep fried in batter :
1. Rinse and dry okra with kitchen towel.
2. Slice length wise
3. Batter made from chickpea (add turmeric.. salt...tiny bit of rising agent) or flour of your choice ...dip it and fry.
Yummy. Similar to making battered fried fish.
😊

Thanks Dr. Joe, I'm 49 beame menopausal at 48, and recently had some routine blood work done, as my blood sugars recently started to be a bit elevated ( highest was 9.4 post meal, but has been mostly reading up to 6.5 to 7.0) my TSH is 47.40, FREE T4 is 7.5, my HDL is 2.33 , triglycerides is 0.60 and my direct LDL is 2.10,...I eat a lot of plant foods especially okras and my preferred beverage is water all day long
Your results aren't bad. The 9.4 post meal result was probably a refined carbohydrate meal outcome but so long as that blood sugar reading winds down within 2 hours, you are good. I am wondering though if you quoted your TSH correctly. It seems quite high. Really high. Something tells me you placed the decimal point in the wrong place. Are you sure it's not 4.7 instead?
Thank you Doc, I'm making the pudding this weekend. Wonderful health videos. God bless.

What about cheese? Cottage cheese? Goats’ cheese?

I love how you use ochro and melongene as cholesterol busters coz these two are my favourites.
I bake my melongene whole in the oven and scrape out the slime inside and add sauteed onion and garlic - yummy to eat with any breads (even the rye or pumpernickle ). You can also bake the ochro whole - season with pink salt, ground geera, chopped chive and olive oil. 350 degrees only 25 mins and you are good to go. Make sure when you season the ochro, let it sit for about 10 minutes then put in a pyrex dish and cover with foil or parchment paper to seal in the moisture before baking.
Thank you for sharing that
Omg you are the best Dr. Joe!!
Thank you
Thank you for your time and for the information.z.
You're welcome
Thank you! This series was just what I needed, even though my levels are in range, I was told I have genetic high cholesterol and the dr recommended Farxiga. After reading the Medical Guide, I did not want the risks it imposed. I wanted a natural approach, even though the doctor pressed that the genetic cholesterol can only be treated by medication.
Most welcome
Very interesting Dr. Joe; all the foods are great which I consume but I cannot do lemon lol but I love dates. As usual, your videos are so very informative and effective. God bless you.
So nice of you
Dr Joe your book is very good on blood pressure May I suggest that you take one chapter at a time and do a video not only will you help provide the information but I think it will encourage people to buy the book. Just my thoughts I know you love to share helpful information.
Thank you James for your suggestion. I actually do have plans to start a channel dedicated to BP management alone. I just haven't managed to find the time to get started. Hopefully soon

Hi Dr Joe,
Thanks for the wealth of information over the years.
I'm around the 65 hour mark of my fasting.
Evidence is mounting that I have had MS since around 35 years old. I believe it was the proton pump inhibitor I took with the guided radiation treatments that caused the MS to turn to a progressive form of the problem 18 months ago.
I never even considered MS until I was reading about Christine Applegate's journey with MS.
I have around a 95 percent correlation with different websites when looking up the symptoms.
It should be interesting to see how the fasting effects the MS. I'm hoping it reverts to a non-aggressive status.
You're welcome, L R

Dr joe, I used your method, lowered my cholesterol but my non HDL is 137. How do I bring it down? Is psyllium husk ok to use?
@@zipporahwambui8804 Don't worry about HDL. It's supposed to be on the high side. It is the LDL should be low
Thank you Dr. Joe, I love your videos!❤ I want to make the Chia Pudding but can we use the fruit if you are pre-diabetic?
Yes, please stop being afraid of fruits. Berries are safe for you
Dr. Joe I just love your videos because your recipes are so simple yet extremely effective. I use okras by boiling them then adding them and the water to cornmeal. It makes a delicious Caribbean dish called “Fungi.”
