Two weeks ago my blood pressure was 212/128 and I was taking extra blood pressure medicines. I started walking 5 miles every day. I changed my diet completely and this morning my blood pressure is 108/67 and I am completely off of blood pressure medicines. I can teach anybody to do the same. Stop all alcohol consumption. Stop eating all foods that convert to sugar like bread, rice, and potatoes, and stop your intake of salt. Increase your intake of avocados, walnuts, pistachios, hemp seed, and a high polyphenol count olive oil, eat lots of fish that is high in omega 3 oils, and green leafy vegetables. Consume 1 teaspoon of pure cocoa daily. Also, take a high-fiber supplement that is pure like psyllium hulls. Do not over-consume water. Do not take Metamucil as it does contain psyllium hulls, however, it also contains other ingredients that are really bad for your intake. The first week you will feel bloated from the high-fiber diet, however, that will pass and the high fiber will lower your cholesterol. Another benefit you will receive is your arthritis (which is only inflammation) will go away. High blood pressure can be completely controlled by diet. I hope this helps and good luck to you. Bottom line. Lower your sugar intake, increase your fiber intake and lower your blood pressure. it's that easy!

You certainly don’t hear that very much “Make Food Your Medicine”. I have been telling my self that for some time now because most Dr.s want to put you right on Meds, and never talk about Diet, Food & Exercise! I tell my self and others “ Let thy Food be your Medicine and let thy Medicine be thy Food”. I finally heard one Dr. from Cleveland Clinic say this same quote. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to hear this coming from a Dr. instead of pushing Rx .😊

I had high blood pressure; cholesterol and pre- diabetes. I eliminate extra salt, sugar and fat. I look for the list of fruits that spikes the sugar, eliminate them, I Cooke and instead of salt I use natural spices like chive, cilantro, garlic…., for the fat I canning the lean meat. Before I use that meat I scoop all the grease out and decant it. In less than 3 months all three of them went down. Now I have my garden eat and canning the rest!

Purchase a good blood pressure monitor (With a sleeve) and check your pressure often at home. Came in handy for me several months ago. My pressure was 190 / 110 and after several tries I used a second monitor and the readings were the same. I then went to the emergency room and got checked out. After returning home, I reviewed everything I'd been consuming for the previous days until I discovered that the source of the problem was Altoids ( The curiously strong mints). I had been gorging on those mints for days. I googled the candy and learned that excessive amounts of peppermint will spike blood pressure.

Thanks for your interesting video. Growing up in Trinidad my mother cooked dried beans/ peas every day with other things.
I always got gas with it.
Trial & error helped me to get rid of that problem.
Here is how I prepare my beans/peas.
    No more gas.
    1) I clean it to remove the bad ones or stones.
    2) Wash in a colander in running water.
    3) Soak beans/peas overnight in warm water.
    4) Throw out water and wash beans/peas in colander.
Now you can cook beans/peas on the stovetop, pressure cooker, slow cooker or IP.
    Season to your taste.
I would like to know if it worked for you. Bless day.

Salt acts as a yeast inhibitor and helps it to rise slower and keeps the yeast from eating all the sugars in the dough. Salt helps the gluten to hold more water and carbon dioxide. Salt helps bread have a stronger and tighter crumb. It will rise too fast and lead to a different texture but will also taste bland.

Just discovered your channel this morning. I found out recently that I have high blood pressure, around 146/85. I am hoping to avoid meds if I can. One person commented that you’re taking too much time talking. She wants you to get right to the point. At first, so did I, lol. I just wanted to know which THREE foods. But, as you talked and explained about salt intake vs potassium, the variety of foods, etc. AND with your excitement and flair while teaching, I felt like a thirsty sponge, taking in all this valuable information. Knowing all the info BEFORE going to the store, before changing lifelong eating habits, will really help in putting a new and healthy ‘diet’ together. I’m excited to change my over salted, over sugared diet. I’m scared of my blood pressure getting totally out of hand. No way (unless I have no choice) do I want to take meds. It would seem so ridiculous to take meds WHILE continuing unhealthy eating, because in the end…one is going to overcome the other. Thank you Zonya, for bringing this information to us in energetic detail, making it so enjoyable to hear and learn.

Although I saved this presentation, I'm interested in buying the two books on the counter. I would like to memorize the entire video because I learned so much just listening. I want to learn more. Here's some stats on me: I was 5' 1" and I'm down to 4' 11". I'm only 67. Most recent Dr. appointment was yesterday. BP was 130/80. Weight was 285!!!!!

If its done correctly. Vegan, plant based need supplements especially B12, Iron, iodine, D3 and you need to balance proteins. Plant based proteins are not complete and need to be combined to become complete for absorption. You can develop many health issues in the long run, if you do not supplement and plan your daily meals. You need to start taking regular blood tests after a year or two, to see if you are missing key nutrients. Vegan, plant based diets are considered radical diets in the medical circles because you can not get all the nutrients you need without supplementing B12 and so on. It can be deceptive because you loose weight and feel great, but over the years die hard vegans without supplements, especially woman can develop anemia, thyroid issues. Be careful, never go plant or vegan without proper planning and medical supervision. .

@@DIDYOUSEETHAT172 The complete protein stance has been debunked.

    • @DIDYOUSEETHAT172
      @DIDYOUSEETHAT172 2 роки тому

@@dianedevery3711 People half read reports. As exampled by your comment here. Where in my entire comment did I say to eat RED MEATS? It amazes me it seems commenters have an IQ roughly that of Tinker Bell's shoe size. Nor has complete the protein stance been debunked. Only by people who grab onto BS studies that say what they want to hear. Studies that are essentially fake news, which at the end has a link pointing to their product or eBook for the low price of $96.00.
I said plant based diets are viable, but need vitamin supplements, and you have to balance proteins, and since you don't seen to have clue what that means I will explain. Beans are incomplete proteins, our bodies do not assimilate them, in a PLANNED meal they need to be paired with another protein of different properties to make a complete protein such as rice. Why because these foods each only have some of all the needed amino acids.
In the 1800's a disease was devastating populations and no one knew why. Finally Identified as 'pernicious anemia', red blood cells were not being produced in the body. People were weak, sick dieing, kids were growing up sickly, one reason why mortality rates in children were extremely high.
WHY? After years of research in England they discovered the people most affected by this mysterious disease were vegetarians. People who had to live off their farm produce, could not afford MEAT. Lack of an enzyme humans can only get naturally from meat. later dubbed Vitamin B12.
THE CURE? LIVER! in 1926, Harvard University researchers, after years of trying different things discovered the only thing that brought these people back to producing red blood cells was eating loads of liver.
In scientific research, and inventing, this is what is referred to as a "Flash of genius!" A moment of realization that points to something viable. This discovery triggered worldwide researcher to isolate the anemia-preventing substance from liver. Eventually derived an injection of concentrated enzymes discovered in the the liver. Then used the injection to treat (successfully) pernicious anemia. Then finally in 1947 a group recruited Mary Shorb, a microbiologist who isolated "cobalamin" a reddish enzyme, .
Within a year the new supplement, B12 was successfully treating pernicious anemia.
The summation prior to the development of vitamins we could not be healthy without MEATS. Because the only viable natural source of vitamin B12 and other nutrients, is MEATS. We cannot get it out of plants because it is manufactured in the gut of animals, and we cannot manufacture it in our own bodies. Nor can you get it by eating dirty vegetables as some morons claim.
So back to my original statement. Vegans can loose weight and feel great, and have magnificent cholesterol in the first years of switching. Why? Because loosing all that extra weight takes a burden off the body. Also B12 is stored in the body, and the effects of eliminating meat without proper supplementation of B12, iodine and list of others is not felt for YEARS!!
The internet is full of people, mostly women giving testimonies of how they turned vegan and felt great for over a decade, then started developing thyroid issues, and yes pernicious anemia, along with a long list of issues.
SO once again for the intellectually challenged, the vegan lifestyle can be healthy, but only with proper planning, balancing of meals, and lots of expensive supplements. B12, D, zinc, iron, Long chain omega3, iodine, calcium.

I enjoyed this video so much. Such a great amount of genuine information that anyone can use right now. I copied the information for the best foods (many are my favs!) and a screen capture of the No-Fail Smoothie Guide. I will be going back to get the Double Orange Smoothie recipe; might need to get the oranges though I have all the spices. Thank you so much for sharing.
I checked out the sample recipes in the "Store" link. I think I'm in love with her cookbooks, everything I saw looks incredibly delicious . I'll wait until after the Christmas rush to order them but wow, I can hardly wait. Skimming through, I see that she has not eliminated whole areas of food like no meat or no grain but rather put them all in proportion to what is truly healthy. I saw recipes for zucchini bread, pizza, and other real food along with fabulous salad and other veggie goodies that I can't wait to try. Some things (raw foods like salad) I'll have to wait until my dental work is completed but I can certainly compensate with smoothies for a while. Everything in either book is so doable. No, I'm not a shill, but I see from the sneak peeks that she will give clear guidance so you can accomplish your health goals.

I have to call her kidney doctor to confirm the amount of potassium a day. My mother was in the hospital for four days. Please do a video on how to lower your potassium. Hi Sharon. My advice would be to stay away from salt in general. BUT, when you do add salt, use iodized. Unless you eat seaweed or a lot of fish. Get the iodine from the salt. All of those fancy salts, including sea salt, are missing iodine. No salt is good for blood pressure. It's all sodium. But if you use added salt, get your iodine. They put it in there for a reason. It's lacking in our food supply. Hope my 2 cents helps.

You are right! And I cover those in the 4 part course...sorry I didn't get that fit into this session. (My point is, people need to realize the vast majority of breads are high). Thank you!

@@zonyafoco8122 : Never would have thought of this either and I am a baker. When I make mine from scratch it is only 1 teaspoon for 2 loaves. Just about anything in the grocery store seems to be bad for you these days unless you pay extra for organic, grass fed, grown on a different planet, etc.

Actually it’s the processed foods that are the problem. Eating real food and exercising 30 minutes a day. Will not raise blood sugar. Lose the bread. Then eat fruits that less sweet.

The fruits recommended for increasing potassium would be a problem for people with increased BG (blood glucose) or insulin resistance. Apart from fruit, what other ways could you increase potassium?

I am in my 60s and always had very low blood pressure until I had to go in for appendix surgery. After I had my appendix out in the hospital my blood pressure went sky high I continuously asked the nurse why. Her reply was you’re in the hospital you just had surgery it’ll go back to normal. Well guess what my blood pressure never went back to normal or low I still always have one or the other top or bottom to Staloch systolic hi. Can you please tell me what caused that to happen after having my appendix removed
