Welcome to our channel!
We’re sisters & best friends on a mission to help women finally escape the seemingly endless cycle of yo-yo dieting.
After years of jumping from one fad diet to the next, we finally discovered the path to creating lasting results without extreme restriction or endless hours of cardio.
But our transformation was more than just physical. It up-leveled our health, our relationships, our careers, and even our finances. We felt strong, and capable of achieving anything. We felt confident and ready to take on the world.
Our transformation was so fundamentally life-changing that we made it our responsibility to share our knowledge with as many women as possible and give them the tools and education they need to create a healthy, powerful life.
Since then, we have helped hundreds of women lose fat, create a better relationship with food, regain their confidence, and form a new identity they never thought possible.

Basically aim for 50 g of protein per meal if 3 meals (one meal can be a protein shake with 50g powder protein). 50g of protein= 161g of chicken, 192g of beef, 208g of shrimp, 7 eggs, about 1.5 cans of tuna. Hope that helps!
How many grams of protein can you absorb at one time? I’ve heard conflicting things on this topic
Thanks for the, I was trying to fast forward when I realized they were just rambling
New data is showing there is no max. Lots of fitness folks are saying they now go 60-80 per meal.
7 eggs… 😮. Talk about being gassy as heck
Lots of protein like 50g would give me headaches!! And try to stay away from processed meat as much as possible.
Omg get to the point!! Rambling on and on and on and on… 😴
Hey Kamran, thanks for watching the video : )
Rude much 🤪
Pakistan 🇵🇰, AKA stolen ancient India 🇮🇳 for the new religion of Islam made up off Jew’s history…
What’s Palestine? Both Pakistan & Palestine are newly made up. Who was the ancient leader of “Palestine?” What was their currency and history? 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
I hate it when people do this.. makes me wanna watch them less
So true
Eggs, smoked salmon, cottage cheese, quinoa, smoked edamame, soy milk, durum wheat pasta, spirunlina, jerky, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, chicken, the options are endless
Strawberry shakes with spinach and a scoop of plant based protein powder is the most delicious breakfast
Cinnamon oatmeal with a scoop of vanilla protein powder
Smoked salmon has 25g protein
Cottage cheese has 19g!
Siete is a brand that makes awesome almond tortillas
Smoked edamame has 18g! Complete blend of amino acids
It’s not just about the protein. It’s 100% about the amino acids that make up the protein. Leucine is so important.
Deli meat and bacon are trash and full of nitrates. This video is not a good recommendation for those looking to increase their protein.
Check for all 9 amino acids

Good info. I'm 68, male, 175lbs, 5'11". Don't think I've ever eaten anything over 80g a day. ! meal a day. When I was 48 had a body fat of 10%, worked out, cycled, ran, was lean then at 160. I kept a very slow metabolism, so my intake didn't need as much. Had more energy than two folks. I believe there can be a happy balance but do not think we need as much to survive and be motivated in any sport endeavor. I do think a cleaner protein intake is important. Yes, as much as 150 tp 200g a day for younger folk who might be super active is recommended. I remember back when working just in 2023 fellers at work would be putting down three, four and five meals a day, at 56 yrs old. But, the flip side to this is the # of bowel movements a day was 2 or 3. Here is my take on what this also does to the infrastructure of the body'd internal workings, it speeds up the process for failure. One's longevity is based on many things, but like a set of tires on a car or fuel mileage, one can start to see that if obtaining the best mileage is important than learning to be light on the pedal makes sense when going the distance. I have studied this criteria for well over 40 years, there is no quick remedy for near anything other than good common sense practices. I have maintained an organic food intake most of the past 30 years, beef maybe a dozen times a year, chicken & turkey on occasion. Low on dairy, mostly Alaskan salmon. I've kept it as simple as one can, basic, boring. Remember, when at the pump putting gas in. Does the premium really get you better mileage? This is my field so believe me, all of the gimmicks are just that. Break it down & one will find that it's easier just to fill up and move on down the road. Same with your food intake, keep it super simple, reliable and consistent, our body like our vehicles need maintenance but do not need all the fanfare everyone wants you to believe just to get down the road as the same in our daily life adventures. Make a plan, be consistent, adjust when needed, evaluate every so often and enjoy things. One of my internal sayings is, "If you eat, one should exercise". Another is, " Always Something". As we get older, it becomes increasingly more difficult to be flexible, so movement starts to become impeded. Plan on it, it happens to all. This year my outlook is a 35k trail run, 300 miles a week on my road bike, 100 a week on my gravel bike, 2 days a week swimming, 20 hours a week in my home gym, & at YMCA for the more rigorous leg machines needed. Taking the grandkids fishing & camping, learning to fly fish, a half dozen precision long distant rifle matches, honing my pistol skills more, maybe a couple first response inter city invasion tactical classes, and, getting back into my classical piano, besides reloading for all of those weapons described.
The jist of what have mentioned may be a bit more than folks want but, here is the culmination to this info point. To do this one must eat properly to have the needed energy. Life is most definitely for the living. The advice I can offer here on just that is, live it by always keeping active. That engagement requires fuel. The best fuel that does not clog the pipes would be best. We all have choices, we all have our views on what works best and so on. Find your solution and fly with it. Remember that all of the experts over the years have said this is bad, that is good and visa=versa over time. We all know most things packaged have preservatives in them to some extent. This comes down to keeping up with your info at all times.
We "ONLY" live just this one time. There is no reset to life's years and toads already traveled or the course a ship might take, but that of the possible needed corrections so that our journey and destination may become less problematic and possibly the destination further, plan for it, make it happen.......My younger foremen by 14 years used to say something to the rest of the crew when they were lagging behind, and most I could out perform in speed of application and work done........Be like Madge...."Just Get After It.". ......I still look 55, have the energy of a 40 year old but as I mentioned, I can feel the years starting to slow me down.......Another word folks......My mind is still saying go but.........the body is starting to say no.....Everyday is a one at a time nowadays. If you don't feel it or have a glitch that day, stop, evaluate, proceed with caution. If that means taking days off, then by all means, take that time. Remember once again, it's about getting to that destination and in the best way one can so take care of yourself, as no one else will.
Thank you for all the information on this subject. I learn every day, it makes life so much more rewarding when we keep an open mind......
Spinach is full of oxalates, if you're gonna nitpick nitrates then you should stop drinking spinach smoothies too

Thanks so much for the great ideas for getting in more protein! Some days it seems really tough to get it all in, so these are very helpful for getting me out of the protein rut. Thanks, ladies!
Awesome Hollie, so glad it was helpful! You’ve got this girl! 👏
This was very informational. Thank you so much!
Great video, I TOTALLY struggle with getting my daily amount of protein 😟 I lost a lot of weight but like you said I'm just trying to build muscle now and be toned, so lifting is my other challenge as it probably is for most women. Thanks for the content! 💛💯
Loved this video. Glad YT recommended your channel!
Thank you so much! So glad that you found this helpful : )
Makes PERFECT sense ladies. Thank you.
Thank you, glad this was helpful!
Maybe you could add a bar of soap to that 150 grams of protein… your F-bomb doesn’t make you the cool girl…
Wasn't trying to be cool!
Re: Your Deli Meats suggestion,,,,Saturated fats, heavy sodium nitrates, processed additives, etc. Not exactly whole foods!
My thoughts exactly ......
Animal fats and saturated fats are the healthiest for human consumption.
Saturated fat is not a problem… also, there are plenty of deli meats you can get fresh cut that don’t have a bunch of additives like that.
Well no,, and you also left out the oncological risky sodium nitrates that are deeply imbedded within, as I had also mentioned. High risk does not equate to a healthy formula!@@ruthanna4713
@@Romns1513 or you can buy a healthy "Mary's chickens cook it yourself and prepare it yourself. Then freeze portions in airlock bags and then you know what you are getting.

This is fantastic timing with this video because I have really been trying to figure out how to get my protein up. I added beef jerkey as a snack but it's not QUITE enough yet.

Great information!!! Thanks 💪🏽
I'm so glad I saw this. I'm working on my fit goals and habits for 2023 and I ate 4 eggs this morning and I wasn't hungry until 7pm and now I know why lol.. I need to be more aware of stuff like that! Thanks!
Glad you found this video helpful Nae! Thanks for watching!
Eat 6-9 eggs per day. If you're a male 9-12.

Very good advice, well presented and informative
Glad this was helpful for you!
Thank you for supporting the content you are providing with a lot of really good information. Too many people follow fads without even understanding why.
Thank you so much!!
I believe it would be helpful, especially for people just starting out, to see what 150 grams of protein looks like. That amount of protein only contains 600 calories so there is plenty of room for other whole foods on the plate. Thanks for the video
Good idea 💡 a visual of protein options on the plate would be helpful
This is great!!! I’ve even tried to get my husband to amp up his protein!!! 😎. Love educating myself and family as well!!!😉

Thanks for the Lavosh Wrap suggestion ladies. I've been trying to figure out how to get more protein other than just eating grilled chicken, shrimp and protein powder every day. Much appreciated!
Glad this was helpful for you!
Personal experience......Eating heavy amounts of egg whites makes my otherwise clear face break out with painful deep acne. It took a kinesiologist to help me figure out what was causing the problem. Three days off egg whites and the pain under the skin diminished and my breakouts eventually healed. I can only eat egg whites in moderation.
You should never separate eggs and eat the just the whites. It spikes the blood sugar. Always eat the whole egg the way nature intended!!
Thanks. Good advice.
Great points
Thank you!
Quite helpful. Thanks.
Thank you!
I liked the discussion. Not everything has to be a documantary. Also a lot of good options. Thank you.
Just happened to come upon this video it's very helpful I'm 64 and I've been upping my protein in order not to lose muscle this really helps with suggestions thank you !! By the way are you from the Port Richmond area ? There is a Polish market I go to " krakas market for my sausage .

I look at cost, ease and efficiency so I use the approach of having a base of 5 foods that are easy to do and easy to get in bulk and require minimal preparation. I am not averse to preparation but it's really helpful to have stuff available when you don't feel like a lot of preparation, cooking and cleanup time. So Costco canned chicken, Costco egg whites, SFH Pure Whey, Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt, and nonfat cottage cheese. With these as a base, it's a lot easier to make other stuff like fish, turkey and beef (though I usually avoid beef), and foods that are under 50% protein.
non fat is a silent killer.
It’s so helpful to finally know why we need protein in our diets. I was searching for high protein snack ideas, so thank you for the tips! I haven’t heard of Quest chips. I’ll have to give them a try. Thank you for all you do!
You’re welcome Jennifer! Glad it was helpful for you! Thank you for watching and enjoy the quest chips!! 😊
Great video This came at a perfect time. My protein goal right now is 115 g and there are days I struggle! I just bought some pumpkin spice protein powder that will help. I absolutely love quest chips for my bedtime snack! How do you do the egg whites with the oatmeal? Do you add it before you heat it up? Thanks for all the info!
Thank you Ashley! That pumpkin spice protein powder sounds amazing! We add the egg whites before heating it and I heat it in 30 second increments stirring after each time to make sure the egg whites don't clump together. I only add 1-1.5oz of Egg Whites. - Melissa
Amazing video thanks
Glad this helped Clare!!

Chomps and paleo valley meat sticks are a great way to increase protein intake. You might also consider the product Fortagen.
Thank you for trouble-shooting the protein equation. I have food sensitivities, so greek yogurt, eggs, and wheat gluten (lavosh) are no-nos for me. Please be considerate of these main food allergies and sensitivities when giving advice - alternatives would be super helpful. Getting enough protein is a huge challenge, much less striving for optimal protein intake. Keep up the helpful advice - thanks!
Can you eat meats? Because those are the optimal protein sources. Beef, bison, chicken, pork, turkey. I understand if you can’t tolerate eggs and other things currently, but if you can, you should try to be eating more meat.
12:37pm CST how do I incorporate the high Protein snacks but stay away from all of the high sodium levels that are in things like the Turkey Jery, string cheese, etc?
I look like a melted candle and I eat atleast 120 grams of protein a day.
Yep me too , gotta work on building muscle. I fasted and lost 20lbs in 30days. Now I’ve learned that a portion of the loss was also muscle. Oops.. So now I have to rebuild the muscle lost. Not easy at 50!
Great suggestions! But how do you stay in a calorie deficit while hitting your protein goal?
Eating more protein is instead of starving yourself
Eating more (and mostly) protein & fats instead of carbs will naturally make you eat less once you’re adapted to it… protein is extremely filling. Carbs make you hungrier, literally. They cause insulin to spike more than anything else and it keeps you addicted to them.
Thank you! Protein is always difficult to eat enough protein without shakes and powders! ❤
Also what was the name of the wrap and crunchy snack?
You’re welcome Donna! We hope this was helpful for you! ❤️
What about Essential Amino Acids (EAA's) in powder or pill form as a way to boost protein consumption?
About a week ago, i finally realized I had been starving myself for over 20 years. Most americans eat between 30 to 50gm of protein if they do, and it should be over 100 gm. I'm up to 100 at the moment working to 130 to one day reach 150g
That’s great!!
One outside the box ideas I found was adding lintels to my rice. You can actually cook them together.
oh nice!
I’m looking for 200g of protein a day. Heavy on the fat and if possible zero carb. Carnivore for therapeutic nutrient Ketosis. Dad is 60 looking to fight type 2 diabetes. Son is 24 looking to fight autism and epilepsy. 2:1 fat to protein ideas are what we need.
Can you please email us? jmsa.inquiry@gmail.com.
@Phil Morgan,
With those goals you would be wise to find a physician that specifically works with TRUE ketosis! This usually entails hospital stay where [you] can be consistently monitored. This is excellent for epilepsy__not sure about autism. In any case, don't mess around with this__you can get gravely ill or die if not done correctly!
For diabetes, look into raw foods diet, "30 Days Raw". Again, under a physician's monitoring you can 'reboot' your body to function properly__however, you must remember: if you go back to old habits you will undo all your hard work!
Hope this has been helpful.
Love, Light, and Blessings on Your Healing Journey. 🙏😇✨💫🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺
What was that wrap you mentioned? i'd like to check it out and see what they are made of. I'm on a carnivore diet and supplement with Eaa's when i don't get the grams i need.
Lavash
May I ask what your LDL-C cholesterol readings are? Egg whites are technically not whole. Protein powder same thing. Jerky is high in sodium and not a whole food. Protein chips also processed. (I'm not a purist but just pointing this out. It's still hard to get from whole sources without rather big meals for a woman and a lot more prep and cost,) Some vegetables, especially green ones, have a high protein content PER CALORIE, so they can up the content at a meal with more dense (but also fattier or starchier) foods.
We didn't talk about cholesterol in this video. We're talking about how to get protein in, period.
@@luminu_official Yes, and you are ignoring how you may be increasing people’s saturated fat level and their risk for cardiovascular disease. Deflecting the question doesn’t change the risk you may be exposing people to in your quest for whatever you were in quest for. If you ignore risks, you can’t claim to be improving people’s or even your own health. But if it’s all about how you look, that’s your right and I guess it is the right of your followers as well.
Great ideas! I struggle with this because I recently discovered that dairy just is not good for me and a lot of nutrition people that I watch mentions yogurt and cottage cheese, and Kiefer
So glad you found it helpful!
I've been struggling to get my protein in. I like your suggestions, but how can I increase protein when I have a gluten and dairy intolerance? Also, was wondering about the sodium content of the lunch meats and jerky you mentioned. Thank you!
Lactose free dairy (or take supplement for lactose intolerance before eating dairy.) Goat milk has smaller proteins and usually don’t cause a problem. There’s lot of GF products now.
This video was so helpful so informative. I have been trying to lose weight for yearsss and no luck. Tried so many diets but was not consistent with them. I am 5ft 3in weighing 235 lbs. How much protein should I be eating?
I would aim to hit 120g of protein. Start off by tracking how much you are currently consuming to see what your starting point is! Any questions let us know!
I love your "rambling" so please don't change! Felt like I'm listening to friends trying to help me out! Thank you! This helped a lot! 💕
Aw! Thank you, we appreciate that!
Thank you for this information vlog. I struggle daily to just just hit 100. I’m 5’6 female how much should I have?
Minimum of 0.6 grams of chicken per pound of your desired weight
Trying to get more protein in my diet. Thank you for explaining WHY we need more protein. Video after video just says "for body composition changes, you need more protein". I do IF (usually 16:8, but sometimes more if I can push it up to 20:4), so I have larger meals. I also try not to snack. Would you advise against this? Not sure I can get enough protein on only 2 meals a day. I do IF mostly for health benefits. I am close to my body weight goal, but I am "skinny fat", so I would like to tone up a bit. Maybe I need to shift my thinking?
Through the scale away and use the mirror it doesn't lie if were honest with ourselves.
Thank you! What is a healthy yogurt high in protein?
Fage GreekYogurt 2/3 cup will give you 18 grams for 90 calories. Fat free. I add 1 TBSP sugar free pudding mix. The flavors are: cheesecake, chocolate, vanilla, white chocolate etc.
Thank you for sharing this information. I’m always struggling to get enough protein. I’m still not sure how much protein to have. Is there a point where you are eating too much?
Most people are actually significantly under-eating when it comes to protein! I would start by tracking your food and seeing how much protein you are currently eating. Ideally you want to work your way up to a minimum of 100g of protein each day. You don’t need to worry about eating too much protein… but definitely pay attention to how your digestion feels as you start to increase the amount of protein you’re consuming. Hope this helps! 🙂
@@luminu_official thank you….I will definitely start doing this! Thank you for your reply!

Im working with a womens health and hormone specialist and right now my goal is 100grams a day. Im finding it super hard to get in. A lot of deli meats actually have gluten in them- i have celiac. Ive been doing a protein shake each day. I don’t know if my body just has to adjust still. Greek yogurt is a meal for me. Not a snack it dessert. Any recommendations on snacks that aren’t just a chunk of meat?
@Amber Hollo,
My understanding is gluten comes from grains so, if you want to eat deli meats(or meat in general) you will need to seek out "organic meat" that is NOT "grain finished". Also, organic dairy products. Hope this helps. 💖🙌😺
There are pastas made of chick peas with 19g of plant protein and glutten free. Barilla brand has a dedicated gluten free processing line. I enjoy snacking on garbanzo beans with arugala olive oil and vinigar. If i am in the mood I also add onions. Don't forget fruit makes a good snack too.
Scoop of protein powder on Greek yogurt , it’s like a pudding, you can even add cottage cheese to the mix👍
Ooo! Good Suggestion!
Thank you so much, very informative video.I have a goal of 153 gr of proteins per day and i’m struggle so much.I’m not hungry after dinner.I bought the Quest Chips and got me some Ghost protein powder
You're so welcome, Valeria! I'm glad our suggestions were helpful!
thank you! as far as I know low fat/no fat dairy is unhealthy, do you have tips how to navigate that? just cut fat out from other sources as much as possible?
Uh.. fat is not the problem. It’s all the carbs people eat with fats and proteins that causes more fat storage. If you eat mostly protein and fat, you will burn fat a lot faster because your body re-learns how to burn fat as fuel instead of primarily glucose (which comes from carbs, but your body can literally produce all the glucose it needs all on its own for specific functions that need it).
Great info, as usual. I have a hard time eating 100g with 2 shakes. I definitely have work to do.
Hope this gives you some inspiration! You’ve got this Jamie!! #jmsafam
Lean ground meats are so dry so I use it in soups I prep with bone broth. Bone broth has 9grams protien per cup.
Yup! That is a great combo!
It's the amount of protein per meal that matters as well. It needs to be 30g or more to stimulate muscle protein synthesis so those 10-20g protein snacks aren't actually doing as much good as you think and are just racking up your calories.
Thank you for your comment Richard
Hello Richard! Im asking as a doctor , how does your theory work?
No bs

Protein powder is not a "supplement". It is a true protein, but yes, it's better to get protein from whole food sources.

Do y’all recommend intermittent fasting?
We don't recommend it because it's not necessary. What feels right for you? Do you want something that fits around your lifestyle?
If I currently have a lot of fat is protein as important for me or is it better to let my body just burn the fat I've got like 50 lb to go
But Dr Gabrielle Lyon says you need atcleast 30 grams at one meal to trigger the muscle protein synthesis reaction, right?
Hey! That's not necessarily true, if you would like, we talk about this in our free group. Join our free community: bit.ly/49UdEw0
This might be unpolite question. But if I eat more than a 120g of protein, I get terrible gas. Any suggestions?
Same here, drink a lot of water and up fiber to aid with digestion, protein can be more work for the body to digest.
@Cara Coates,
Something I discovered, by accident, more than 30 yrs. ago, a simple test: do you get a lot of gas from eating dairy, cheese and eggs? Do you think you might be lactos intolerant?
You may not be lactos intolerant, rather, be deficient in an enzyme that breaks down the protein in dairy, cheese and eggs.
Try kefir, or goat milk/cheese, even better, sheep cheese__kefir is fermented, and the protein in the others are broken down a little so your body can digest them more easily. That's why 'in the old days' if a woman couldn't breastfeed for some reason goat or sheep milk would be a comparable alternative.
Hope this is helpful.

Chia and flax seeds too!
I think buying whole meats like an entire turkey or roast and cutting that and adding it to your lunch wraps ect. Eating processed meats you add too much salt and it is more expensive.
Yup! that is a good choice as well!
I just have one question how could you possibly eat 150 grams of protein a day and not get constipated?
If you increase slowly, your body adjusts to it! How much protein are you eating daily currently?
You must eat enough fiber and fat as well
One sentence in and she’s already CUSSING like the devil himself. 🤮🤮😂
