Hope you review the L'oreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation (so many words!). I've seen some rave reviews about it but my skin is more like yours in terms of dryness and "wisdom" lines. Thanks for all the reviews. Love them!
Maybelline's Fit Me matte & poreless for oily/combo skin comes in 40 shades, but the dewy & smooth for dry skin only comes in 24 shades. Go figure. :-/
Geek Out of Water YOU are kind of in trouble! I swore I was not going to bother with expensive eye shadows since I can barely tolerate most of them anyway. But then you keep talking about Natasha Denona. And I see a mini palette on sale at Sephora, so why not? OH MY GOODNESS! I don’t have to tell you how they go on like soft butter. But literally it felt like I had no shadow on all day. That’s never happened, ever! My freaky eyes will react to the slightest irritation. So now I’m way to excited to buy a full palette and it is ALL your fault!
Have you heard when No7 Hydraluminous foundation is going to be available in the US? I keep waiting for it to be released. Sounds like a great one to try and also reasonable. I’m trying to get away from expensive foundations.
Pretty please review the new L’Oréal Age Perfect foundation, blush, etc. I’m sooo excited for this line, and there’s nobody’s opinion that I trust more than yours. 🖤
I’m excited to see what you think of the AOA drops. I ordered them per Taylor’s recommendation as well. They should be delivered in a day or two. Great video as always. Love the eyes, I’m ordering that palette ASAP.
I have tried this foundation in Alabaster 00...I used the Smashbox Primer Oil, first, then Mac Strobe Cream and the second time I tried it using the No. 7 Illuminating Primer..with the Primer Oil and the foundation worked for me. I have very dry skin,too..
It doesn't look good on me either and people RAVE about it, it looks just ok; but mostly like it's sitting on top of my skin. Physicians Formula Healthy Foundation is my HG foundation.
I almost ordered this before I watched your review... sooo glad I didn’t!! Thanks so much! You save me from ordering so many duds. I’ve saved so much money (I never return makeup) since discovering your channel💜
I have had this foe about six months and wore it once in a while but input it on Sunday it was stunning! My son noticed and said I looked really good, wore to work Monday and today, complimented twice in work by coworkers, the ones that know my makeup obsession so when I have an especially nice " makeup day" they mention it. So I came to you to see if you had rated it yet. I am surprised you didn't like it. Oh well 😅🤷♀️
Ooooo a bonus foundation video! ♥️ I wasn’t surprised at the grade on this one, even on camera it looked like a very flat matte. Can’t wait for the new CG one! 😊 Happy Monday Shelly! 🤩
Thanks for reviewing this one too! Another one I was excited to try but I'll have to pass on. It looked pretty on you in your checkin; but shameful it came off with one touch of your finger. That's bizarre! But I am glad Maybelline figured out what fair shades were, I've bought their light foundations before and they're still dark or oxidize on me. PS- Your new Jeep looks beautiful!! I'd love to see the Wet n Wild Dewy foundation and the Milani Screen Queen Foundation.
I actually bought this yesterday because the drug store I was at didn’t have the new L’Oréal age line I was looking for. I agree that there’s nothing radiant about it. I mixed it today with the No 7 lift and luminaire. Crossing my fingers that I’m not a mess by the end of the day🤞
Will you try out the huda over achiever concealer? I looked to see if you have already tried it and I couldn’t find it. I’d really like to see the shop miss a drops soon.
The cedar and pine pollen is already turning everything yellow meaning I'm a snot leaking machine. This definitely won't work for me! Thank you for the review! I'd love to see the new Physician's Formula products for the organic and rosé lines!
Another one making claims that it can't live up to Shelly. I'm sorry that it didn't work out. I just picked up a sample of the Bite Beauty Micellar foundation. Can't wait to try it out! ❤
@@goow sorry to report that I wasn't impressed, but it could be that the shade that was picked out for me made my skin look gray, and that's all I concentrated on. Even though it said it had a warm undertone, it definitely did not! I looked like the crypt keeper! LOL
So funny how different this worked for me. I had a slightly darker shade and used Milani Glow primer under it and it looked great. The shade you used looks a little light and that can exaggerate imperfections methinks. So sad it failed for you. As a heads up, the new WetnWild Luminous foundation was awful dry and patchy on me. Looking forward to the CT and Exhib comparison video!
Just an FYI: I was shopping at Target today and they have Milani's Amore Shine on clearance for $3.98 each. I grabbed 2 of #11-Charming, you convinced me a few months ago to give it a try. Now my favorite! :-D Grab em while you can!! :)
Hi shelly,I work long hours and I have a cold ,so this foundation won't work for me,thank you for showing how foundations wear for the whole day not just how they look on the skin🤗
Lol! Yes!! Heated seats are indeed life. I'm sorry this foundation didn't work. Any foundation that accentuates and wrinkles...no. A "D" is a fair grade. Oooh, I'd love to see the new Physician's Formula foundation. They're healthy foundation is one of my favorites.
I couldn't get it to look radiant unless I used the Elf Poreless Primer under it. However, it wore a LOT better on me than it did on you. I'm so sad it didn't work for you.
"Heated seats are life!!!" 🤭🤭 Thanks for sharing Shelly. I had the same issues with this foundation I was actually kind of disappointed by it. But as the day went on it did get better but it still wasn't what I wanted. Not what I expected from Maybelline either but ehhh. Loved your shadow too girl! Have a good one!!💞💞
I had that one pegged as a D. What do you wear for foundation on non-foundation testing days? Do you have a couple which you rotate between? Do you try to use a different one every day? Do you gravitate to drug store or higher end brands? Inquiring minds want to know. I find that I have a relatively small number of foundations which I use regularly. And what about others which were pretty good but were older? Do you gravitate to tried and true or do you use the new ones? Can you give us maybe a GWRM where you talk about your daily foundation habits?
I rotate through my A list :) First is how much makeup I'm doing - if I've got an hour to do a full face, I'll usually wear a high end foundation. If I have half an hour, I'll go with my "mood" and if I have to go super-fast I'll do either Nyx Born to Glow or Clarins Skin Illusion or Kosas Tinted Face Oil, something I can quickly apply with fingers. From there I decide based on finish and and coverage and what kind of look I'm going for. Most people don't have 150 foundations to reach for so I'm guessing most people wouldn't have such an extensive decision making process lol. I have so many that I can be picky :) I'll use today as an example - I almost reached for my By Terry because it's so beautiful, but I only had 15 minutes or so to do my makeup so I didn't want to "waste" such an expensive foundation on a quick makeup job. I ended up wearing the CoverGirl Skin Milk to give it another try (I have a review of it coming up soon!)
you kept saying their was no radiance in the foundation but I did see it! but to me it was more like a lit from within glow. too bad you didn’t like it, thanks for the review though 😊
Do you get most of these products from PR? I definitely hope so because I can't imagine the amount you have to spend to keep your channel filled wit such awesome content. know it's not my business but they'd be wise to put you on all PR lists.
I wish I did :) I get PR from CColor Cosmetics, Alter Ego, and occasionally Good Molecules. Everything else I buy myself for the most part. I apply for individual PR products through the Octoly program but that only adds up to a couple items per month. I spent $8,000 on makeup and skin care for this channel in 2019. The channel is an LLC business, so I take it off on my taxes, and I did earn about $2,500 in UA-cam ad revenue, but nowhere near as much as I spent. It's an expensive hobby! 😂I hope to get closer to breaking even in the next couple years.
howdy there. question, did you ever get a chance to check out and try the lancome genifique eye serum? just thought since you love (and now i love) the genifique face serum you may have given it a chance... have a beautiful night xo
I love your reviews! I think this foundation is strange! I'm trying to find a replacement for Physicians Formula Healthy Skin since they discontinued it. And I thought with the hyaluronic acid, this might be close. I'm in 08 which is a great match. But it does look matte when I first put it on. I was super shocked by it and thought I looked flat! And since I'm used to wearing more of a satin foundation I thought it looked terrible. But I kept going and it did soften on me later in the day and smoothed out my complexion. I tend toward drying out throughout the day too! I'm stumped by this one because it acts so strangely. Oh, I did use a Loreal Setting Spray with it which I think may have helped.
Or maybe your environment has a decent amount of moisture/humidity which helps hyaluronic acid do it's job. If you have dry skin and live in a dry climate you have to use either hydrating moisturizer with these types of foundation or use a moisturizing spray OVER it so that it doesn't draw moisture OUT of your skin, after I figured out those tricks my skin hasn't been dry since.
I see you got the Purito. ☺️ I guess you did buy it the other day! I thought it looked good, but I trust your opinion. I’m still hanging in there with my Missha Perfect Cover. The high level of arbutin (I think) keeps my age spots faded- when I switch foundations, they literally start to darken. I just can’t stop wearing it. 😳
TY so much for showing the Storybook Cosmetics palette! I've never heard of them, but I absolutely adore anything book related, so I am thrilled to see this!!
I've never had any luck with Maybelline foundations! 🎵Maybelline, why can't you be true??🎵 I don't know why the hell that old song popped in my head!! ❤
@@goow I know I've been checking and no luck they are doing an awesome gift with purchase right now with a $45 purchase you get a lot of extras I'm really tempted to go ahead just to be able to try their other stuff from the gifts.
Well at least it looks like they might be getting better with their colours - I've never had good luck with Maybelline foundation shades, they've always been either too yellow or more commonly, too orange, in any of the ones remotely fair enough for me.
Thank you for this hot take. I purchased this because it had such a wonderful reviews from other youtubers Who supposedly deal with dry skin. I know that you have dry skin -as do I- & my experience more closely resembles yours than the reviews that encouraged me to purchase this in the first place. I also find it to be rather heavy-feeling and uncomfortable. I’m not sure how a product wears away and dries me out at the same time.
Hyaluronic acid draws moisture from it's environment so if your skin is dry, you don't use a good moisturizer, or the area you live in has no humidity, it's going to take whatever moisture in your skin that you have OUT instead of keeping it in. I learned the hard way about that.
That is so crazy that it didn’t work for you! I got the NYX born to glow and everything you described is what that foundation did on me (dry, accentuated lines, etc.) but this foundation was more hydrating and looked more natural than the NYX. I have a very similar skin type and the results are completely switched on me!! So weird!
Oh dear it wasn't the best and really wasn't "radiant" at all. However the shade match looked pretty good in comparison to your neck - so yep Winter paleness. Maybelline have always been unwearable for me, as they're usually far too dark and very yellow toned, so seeing paler shades is a real bonus. Their fair always looked like a light/medium before. Hopefully future releases will be better and the shade range will stay in this improved format. The only affordable brand I have found to date who go pale enough is revolution, so maybe other ranges will expand their colour selection. We can but hope. Best wishes.
hi, shelly! dang, i must be ancient as i still don't have heated seats - lol! wish this had worked better - i won't try it as lines are an issue on my forehead and don't want to look like a bit player on star wars. hope your week started well. i want this bug gone sooner than later. at that point where i feel ok, then not, then ok, then not. short circuit? mah haw haw. hugs! ~k
I was really interested in this foundation. The Ulta website showed that it was available at all the Ulta stores in my area yet none of them had it. Not sold out, just not there. :-( But now seeing how matte it is despite the name, I'm glad I didn't get it. And the fact that it accentuates lines/wrinkles makes it a no-go for me. I ended up grabbing a tube of NYX Born to Glow instead. It's not glowy or dewy on me but more of a natural finish and I'm glad that it doesn't crease either. Would love to see you review the CoverGirl foundation you mentioned. :) My old car finally got too expensive to repair last week so I ended up getting a new one. Wish it had heated seats as it's been 14F for several days after getting walloped with 9" of heavy, wet snow! Ugh......
I don't want to say I'm glad it didn't work for other people but I am somewhat relieved that so many of you had the same issues, because I am still totally baffled by this one! At least we are all baffled together!
That one is just bizarre! Is it one of those weird formulas that somehow separates a little and needs a good shake before dispensing? Definitely NOT radiant.
Oh no and all the articles about this product were saying dry skin peeps would absolutely fall in love with it..... Thanks for the review, not for us dry, over 40 peeps. Sad face.
Oooo I think you might love the AOA foundation. I'm crazy about it! The second lightest shade (fair ivory?) is a really great match for me and I'm often pretty close to you in matches. Also I'm extremely disappointed in this one. I can't believe that it's only flat-looking for you and no one else. Sucky suck, Maybelline.
I've never experienced the joy of them until now and I'm going to run up the mileage on this Jeep crazy fast because now I want to go driving every time I'm cold (which is always) to warm up! And I swear they're helping my back feel better, too!
@@goow I hear Ya about wracking up the mileage, I try VERY hard to drive my Toyota as much as possible to keep the Jeep off the road but I love to drive it in the snow, and I love to drive it in the summer with the top off so...LOL I have a hard time with that.
I sure hope you take these duds back to the store! You spend an awful lot on makeup. No sense in keeping them. Although I am sort of glad this is another product I don't HAVE to have. I just spent a small fortune on just skin care the other day. That was a close one. Phew!
Ya, this ones gonna be a big pass for me. Shame, I can never find drug store foundations that I really like. My old, dry, sensitive skin has expensive taste I guess, lol. Speaking of expensive taste...new Dior Concealer, lol. I think I'm just going to pick it up next week and bite the bullet.
I feel like I'm forever a full coverage girl, love your ears Shelly!

Oh my goodness that Fit Me shade! If that’s ivory my shade would be “corpse”!

LOL yeah their version of ivory in that line is more like pumpkin!

Milani Glow primer is a hydrating primer that's why it works.

Well at least it looks like they might be getting better with their colours - I've never had good luck with Maybelline foundation shades, they've always been either too yellow or more commonly, too orange, in any of the ones remotely fair enough for me.
They've definitely improved over a few years ago!
Heated seats really are life! Especially for those of us who get cold very easily ☺
And that is MEEEEE! :-D
@@goow me too! I always need a sweater! I carry one with me even in the summer 🙂
Right?? It's quite an odd accomplishment.
So weird!
Kayla Stewart Me too! I did really moisturize first!
lol it's like Freaky Friday or opposites day!! 😂
@@kathybrou1340 That's the difference.
Shop MissA AOA foundation :)
Scrub off the top layer of that highlighter. I had to do that.
I'm going to have to try that because I thought I could "swatch away" the top layer but it hasn't worked yet.
I do think it was a little light for you, as I've gotten older ok be had to go a little darker definitely not lighter.
This looks like a VERY light medium coverage..
LOVE 🌟🌟🌟
hi, shelly! dang, i must be ancient as i still don't have heated seats - lol! wish this had worked better - i won't try it as lines are an issue on my forehead and don't want to look like a bit player on star wars. hope your week started well. i want this bug gone sooner than later. at that point where i feel ok, then not, then ok, then not. short circuit? mah haw haw. hugs! ~k
I can't believe I've lived without heated seats my whole life. lol
😂”Heated seats are life” made me laugh
I can't believe I've lived without them all my life!
Thank you for the review, I will pass on this. Your eyes look amazing though.
Ugh......
Yea i didnt like this one either it isnt dewy at all and it sunk in my fine lines too..
Oh maybelline no!! Thank you for the review!
Is it bad that I’m relieved that this didn’t work for you either? I thought maybe I was just missing something, because it looked dry and textured.
I don't want to say I'm glad it didn't work for other people but I am somewhat relieved that so many of you had the same issues, because I am still totally baffled by this one! At least we are all baffled together!
Not too light. It's too pink for you. That's why it looks powdery/pasty.
That one is just bizarre! Is it one of those weird formulas that somehow separates a little and needs a good shake before dispensing? Definitely NOT radiant.
❤
👍❤️
Oh no and all the articles about this product were saying dry skin peeps would absolutely fall in love with it..... Thanks for the review, not for us dry, over 40 peeps. Sad face.
Oooo I think you might love the AOA foundation. I'm crazy about it! The second lightest shade (fair ivory?) is a really great match for me and I'm often pretty close to you in matches.
Also I'm extremely disappointed in this one. I can't believe that it's only flat-looking for you and no one else. Sucky suck, Maybelline.
No it's very glowy...you must have really dry skin, I use it & it's beautiful & dewy.
I'm sitting here trying the Cover Girl clean fresh while I'm watching this.... 👎🏻
I've got that one filmed I think for Monday.....
High Five for the heated seats 🖐🏼 !!
"What if you live in the country" 😂😂😂
I can't keep in my snark when I'm reading product marketing claims 😂
I'm not sure if Maybelline's foundation game has gone down or my standards have gone up....
I've never had great luck with Maybelline foundations to begin with :-/
I sure hope you take these duds back to the store! You spend an awful lot on makeup. No sense in keeping them. Although I am sort of glad this is another product I don't HAVE to have. I just spent a small fortune on just skin care the other day. That was a close one. Phew!
I keep a lot of them for reference swatches down the road, but most people wouldn't need to do that =D
Very bad fondation for dry skin ! 😱
It was shockingly terrible, despite the name!
Disappointing. Thanks for reviewing. I had seen this and was curious. Not for this 44 year old. 😊
