I agree...It would be very beneficial if Maybelline would add the undertones to help us choose our shade. L-Oreal true match do so and its super helpful. Love your eyeshadow!
I just love these reviews. So honest and refreshing. It's really hard to find what works best for my ever changing skin as I age. By far my favorite beauty blogger EVER!
I have been using this foundation and I really love it. I do use a primer and I do use a 50 sunscreen underneath and it works well with both, no pilling issues at all. I love the price too. I am in the same age group as your mom, let us know if she likes it. It reminds me of the Loreal Lumi foundation which I am a big fan of. I think this is better than the NYX born to glow and I also use a sponge. Will try with a brush due to your recommendations. Great video, and I love drugstore brands. I typically have one that matches me and I walk around with the bottle to try and see which one matches that bottle. What we do for a match, ha!
I like this foundation. It's very nourishing for the skin. I think the coverage is I the lighter side, but I prefer that to heavy...I don't want to look like I have makeup on. I'm obviously a guy, and I'm just getting into using makeup at the age of 38. My skin is starting to age. I feel more confident with foundation on. Thank you for your thorough review! I agree that it is sheer and feels like moisturizer. I found the one I used slightly too light, like you did. I use a light layer of LA Colors foundation, which is a bit too dark and matte on it's own, to finish my layering of foundation to deepen the tone and help prevent shine. I have primarily oily skin with cheeks that can get dry if I over-wash. Anyways, thanks again! I'm enjoying your videos!
Wore it for the first day today... I was surprised how good it looked.. was a lovely natural finish... it was a very light coverage.. but still pretty... I’m 50
This is by far one of my favourite foundations. I’ve worn this on one side of my face and the dream urban cover on the other side and love this one so much more
I appreciate that you’ve worn this for a bit prior to reviewing. This looks and sounds beautiful, as does your makeup. I especially like your eye look and noticed that someone said that a tutorial would be nice. Agree:)) Thanks, girlie🍃🌸
Thanks for another great review! I love that you don't use filters to look flawless and are not afraid to show pores/scarring/blemishes! Hello, we all deal with these issues and I have used so many of your tips and tricks to cover up problem areas. Again, I am a face toucher and have normal skin so not sure this would be suitable for me but it does look lovely on you! ... Peace, love, and happiness!
No one on UA-cam is perfect no matter how hard they try to hide their flaws....I've noticed the more subscribers people get the further away they tend to be from the camera. Haha. Perfection isn't reality....or at least it shouldn't be xxx
I love this, but have to mix 3 shades to get the right colour for me. I would love them to do/explain the undertones better. I would also like Boots/Superdrug to have testers!
Be interested to see if this works on your mum Gemma. I’ve tried it (58yrs) and I hated how it looked. Went on lovely, easy to blend, doesn’t grab dry bits but from then it went downhill fast. Sank into pores badly, collected in lines, moved around and transferred onto everything. It’s the first foundation for a long time I binned. I’ve also got a fair olive skin so shade range was off either way too yellow or too pink.
I really love this foundation, might be a dupe for Dior sculpt, same coverage and texture and similar shades. On me I consider it full coverage, I personally would not call it light coverage. I use Laura Mercier for my light coverage and this is MUCH heavier and very buildable. I like it bc it looks like skin, does not look heavy but covers every imperfection I have. I’m 43 and it doesn’t sit in lines, keeps skin dewy and hydrating.. really like it!
So freaky! I spent about a year in the makeup section at the Walmart several days ago, trying to find an affordable new foundation. Eventually, I made my choice, finished my shopping, came home and pretty much forgot about it. When I went to catch up on the last few of your videos, I saw this, and thought surely that's not the one I picked up the other day...but, it was! ESP maybe. So, I haven't tried it yet. But, now I have all the great pointers, before I ever start! Thank you for all you do. 🧡
For those of us in the U.S. who can’t get the hydrating No. 7 foundation that you love.. would this one be a good alternative? I’ve been waiting on that No. 7 one forever and we still can’t get it here :(
Kayla Stewart Have you tried the Lift and Laminate? I bought some because it seemed to be the same as the one in the UK. . Not sure if the ingredients are the same as the one in the UK. But it’s a really nice hydrating foundation, I have dry skin. Colors are the same in the US as the UK. I got mine in Calico a little light but works, not a great shade line. Give it a try got mine at Target. Like $17.00 I think.
I've used the Maybelline Dream Satin foundation for many years. I've never liked another one I've tried. However, is there one you'd recommend that is higher coverage, maybe more natural ingredients, and/or even more moisturizing? Or even one that's similar. I lovvvve the texture of it especially- my skin is super dry. I'd stick with this it, but I've had some sudden acne this year and want to see if a new foundation helps.
H, Gemma! This foundation looks very good on you.!...I will try to buy it and see how it will look on my skin, once I prefer to use tinted moisturizers.👍❤️
❤❤❤ I got all excited about this..pulled it up to do some shopping...aaaaand realized that I had already purchased it recently! The US package is different. I set it with a power foundation, for coverage and wear length. I agree that the Drugstore brands need to do better at shade descriptions, as well as consistency in shade names across their own foundation lines.
Honest Gem, I love when it hits your upload days. I always have something to look forward to. I bought the Sunprise SPF & it is arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait! I really take on board your recommendations. So far I have Estée Lauder DW Light, Conceal & Hydrate, & a lot of TO’s skin care! You’ve saved my skin!xxx
Hi Gemma! Once more, thanks for this review on Maybeline-who knew? I would have passed it up had you not done this and it looks radiant on you. Your eye make-up is amazing! We need a tutorial.💕Rebekah
You are killing it with the close-ups! I feel like I'm actually seeing products on human skin! Thank you! Yes it did look great and wore away well. It does sound more like a tinted moisturizer maybe?
I totally agree with you regarding the lack of tone/shade info for drugstore foundations! I wouldn’t have to return so many if I could easily determine the correct shade.
@@Pinkfong2 Just as you can buy the drops to lighten or darken your foundation, you can also buy drops to add yellow and red. Not sure if they come in khaki though. So, basically, they are drops to adjust/alter the undertone and/or shade . Very useful in the UK as we can't return products. Btw, I use the elf adjuster, mix to match. Hope this helps, xxx
I tried the last one they did in the ‘Fit me’ range. I don’t have dry skin and it made my skin look terrible, so I’m too scared to try any of their foundations again. Looks beautiful on your skin xxx
Don't let the Fit me ones scare you off ....I hated them too but have found this one actually looks really nice and lasts well...long as you're not too oily.
Couldn't figure out what was different at first then realised you wearing contact lenses your natural brown eyes are way more stunning with the light blonde hair 👸🏼
I’m in the uk and have had this for approx a month or more, I’ve heard it’s a reformulation of one of the others but I only use the 24 superstay or the matte and poreless so wouldn’t know but in all honesty I actually prefer it to both. I have combination/oily skin and although the matte and poreless can look nice the superstay can look hideous on me. I agree that it’s sheer and if I’m having a bad skin day I avoid and use the cyo lifeproof (gutted that it’s discontinued). It’s maybe not ideal for long wear but I quite like it.
Gemma! I was only thinking about looking to see if you had a review of this today. Thanks so much. I actually ended up buying it before seeing your review. So far so good. x
Whoops forgot to ask, since your contacts lens and bracelet is listed, would you share your eye lash serum for growth? Your current skin care products would be wonderful too.❤️
I adore your Channel. I am always so happy to see a new tutorial has dropped. I love that you mix up both high end and drugstore. I have a mix of both too... as sometimes you find a product that is amazing that is expensive just the same as cheaper brands that are amazing. Thanks for keeping it real and always fun to watch. Agree totally with the undertone problem. How hard would it be to put N - neutral... W - warm or C - cool when they are putting the colours on the bottle??? It’s not like they don’t have high end sister companies that do it.
Are you asking Jan to try this? I would be really interested to know if it is good for more mature skin, I know Jan knows what I'm talking about lol Love and hugs Bxx
Hi - thank you for another wonderful video! Can you compare this foundation to the no7 Hydraluminous that we’re still not able to buy in the US? They seem like they’d be similar, but I’d really value your opinion. 💜
I'm fairly new to makeup, have used only moisturizer and I am 77 years old. I like to know what your mother things of your products on her. I did buy a colored moisturizer a few months ago and don''t know if I like it. Any ideas, I am fair! Thank so much for your videos. Blessings of Canada!
My mum wouldn't like this one, not because she has mature skin, but because she likes a transfer proof foundation and also that she has combi/oily skin and this wouldn't last on her xx
Elizabeth, I'm in my late 50s and am very fair, with dry skin. As I age, I find I am becoming paler and have lost a lot of eyebrow and eyelashes from illness. I also find I use fewer cosmetics. I rely on a natural color eyebrow product, volumizing mascara one coat on top lashes only and a lip color. I will often use a little lip color on my cheeks. When you first put it on, the color is scary bright, but dries down to sheer in about 5 minutes. Bottom line, makeup should be fun! Maybe buy a few inexpensive items and play with them! You can always wash it off! I wish we lived closer and you could shop my stash!
Hi. I agree it looks beautiful. I think I will try it! Thanks for the demo and all your help! Your face and eyes looked fabulous! Sending love you you and your Mom! Be Well and Be Blessed!!! Love you all!!❤️😊🌻🌻🌻
This foundation seems to be very good for my skin 😊. But because I’m very pale, I’ll have to check the colors. Hope there is one for me. Thanks Gemma for your effort, work, testing and spending money 🥰. Hugs and kisses, Sabine 😘
The nyx 37 can’t stop won’t stop brush is my favourite foundation brush (this ain’t the Jackie Aina brush). Especially if you can get it discounted on ASOS. Super dense and just 🤤😅😍. Another good brush is the foundation blender brush from Real Techniques. It’s the one that comes in face and face and body sizes (which is bigger). They are brushes on a stump basically. Super dense and again amazing to use and great finish. I just like cleaning brushes with my stylepro so I prefer brushes with handles.
There's miles between them. This is a radiant finish and DWL is a natural matte finish. DWL is also transfer resistant and long wearing where as this is not xxx
Depending on whatever, I need to use about 3 different foundations due to weather, sun, dryness, etc. I rotate them according to my skins changes. So low cost foundations is important to me. Thank you very much. I’ll try this! Love you, enjoy you, depend on you and laugh with you. Gemma! Step away from the needle. Humn maybe take up crochet? Lol
I am very glad to find another drug store foundation worth trying, thank you for the review. Also, your eyelashes look amazing, I would love to know what mascara you are wearing.
Gemma...quick question...what color of contacts are you wearing in this video? I also sometimes wear TTDEYE contacts but am having trouble finding the right green shade to turn deep blue eyes green. Of course I know your eyes are brown but wanted to look @ the color you're wearing in this video. Thanks! Nice looking very affordable foundation too!
Thanks for this...i really look forward to your reviews...could you tell if you had to pick one foundation for dry skin which would it be and also your mum with mature skin...which ones are your holly grails...and also have you tried the mac and dior face and body and if so what do you think ..thanks paula🙂
This didn't used to happen to me when I was oilier, but my skin has gotten more dry with time. My foundation goes patchy/crusty if I don't prep really well beforehand (definitely a good moisturizer, sometimes primer too). Exfoliating can help as well.
L'oreal True Match is the only drugstore foundation I can find that does break it down into undertones, which as you said, is extremely helpful! Too bad I don't like that foundation!! Always enjoy your videos, I tried this foundation and couldn't find a good match for my skin.
I have been thinking of buying it as a mixing foundation to help others get a glow but wasn't sure about the coverage so now I'll know and make up my mind, thanks Gemma.
I like your reviews they help me a great deal. Now that being said I’m much older than you and I would like a review of Cover Girl simply ageless 3 in 1 foundation Maybe your Mom has used it and she could do the review. In fact I’m older than your Mom. Anyway just curious.
I've only tried this with a sponge. Will definitely give it a go with a brush after watching this. Thanks. Also completely agree with what u said about brands listing undertones on their foundations! If Revolution can do it why cant they all 😀
The dream satin is smoother and a thicker formula but I LOVE that one too. It was the first foundation I EVER reviewed on my channel so I have a soft spot for it xxx
Gamma, you look absolutely stunning. If you find the perfect color in that foundation will you let us know? We have the same color/shade/undertone issues. PS I laughed (with you not at you) when you told the sewing accident story. Sometimes I amaze myself at how klutzy I can be. XXOO❤
Hi Gemma, I have been looking for a review on It CC cream and what you think of it and if you would use a primer under it? Thank you and I love your information because it is so right on!
Kim Mailloux she has a video on the IT cc cream. I just watched it yesterday but I don’t know if she used primer. When she starts out saying she has all of her skin care on I don’t know if that includes primer. In other channels I have noticed that some always use primer no matter what foundation they are reviewing. Do you regularly use primer???
I like the sound of this one, apart from the shade/undertone issue. I'm medium warm, and pink undertones are so wrong on my yellow toned skin. I'm forever using yellow adjusting drops. As you said, it's mainly the "drugstore" foundations. Anyhooooo, you look gorgeous and hydrated so I'm obviously going to be buying it. 😊 Thanks Gemma. Also, the hoodie looks bomb, 💗💗💗
I love the finish from this foundation, but... I draw and I can't wear it when I draw, because sometimes I touch my face and it transfer...on my paper😅
I was in Meadow Hall recently, to try the no7 hydrating foundation on your recommendation. I was chatting to the No7 employee who you meet up with every so often 🙂 for someone new to foundation wanting a light coverage do you think the hydrating foundation is still the best option or this?
Hi Gemma. Very informative video as usual 🥰 just wondering if you have tried By Terry Hyaluronic hydra foundation? I’m interested to know you thoughts if so and if this foundation could be a dupe? X
Your eye makeup looks especially beautiful in this video. Would love to see a tutorial on it.
I agree...It would be very beneficial if Maybelline would add the undertones to help us choose our shade. L-Oreal true match do so and its super helpful. Love your eyeshadow!

Thank you so much for explaining how it works with fine lines and settling. Especially on very dry skin!
I like this foundation. It's very nourishing for the skin. I think the coverage is I the lighter side, but I prefer that to heavy...I don't want to look like I have makeup on.

This looks beautiful on you. My problem with Maybelline is finding the right shade. Some of the beige ones are too yellow on my fair skin.
Wore it for the first day today... I was surprised how good it looked.. was a lovely natural finish... it was a very light coverage.. but still pretty... I’m 50
I bought this and I'm loving it on my 61 yr old face
I'm not fond of heavy makeup; this feels like and blends easily
I just love Maybelline products. It looks stunning on you Gemma. You have beautiful skin. Thank you 🦋🌹
Adél Koekemoer Me too and since I was a teenager, I have always worn Maybelline mascara.
This is by far one of my favourite foundations. I’ve worn this on one side of my face and the dream urban cover on the other side and love this one so much more
Love this foundation better than most. Very smooth foundation.good colour matches. Feels nice ,non sticky on your face

These ones are Egypt Blue. They're my favourites xxxx
I thought the coverage was beautiful. Pretty good for such a reasonably priced foundation. Thanks for the video and take care 🙂♥️
You remind me of Cameron Diaz with this make-up look - and contact lens colour. Eyelashes are 'absolutely stunning' btw :)
Thanks for this...i really look forward to your reviews...could you tell if you had to pick one foundation for dry skin which would it be and also your mum with mature skin...which ones are your holly grails...and also have you tried the mac and dior face and body and if so what do you think ..thanks paula🙂
Paula M please check out the foundation review and mum video playlists xxx
What a beautiful radiant finish😊
I love your eye make up in this video
I’m so excited to try this!
whenever I get foundation, it looks dry and ends up a bit 'crusty' looking. Is it just the reaction of it on MY skin?
it could be the moisturiser / primer you use maybe mix a drop of face oil with the foundation before blending with a damp blender
Beautiful as always!
I like your reviews they help me a great deal. Now that being said I’m much older than you and I would like a review of Cover Girl simply ageless 3 in 1 foundation Maybe your Mom has used it and she could do the review. In fact I’m older than your Mom. Anyway just curious.
Hey beautiful! I live in Florida where it's really humid. Anyone know if this works in hot humid weather? I do have dry mature skin tho..
This would slide off me in hot humidity xxx
I found the lightest shades either too dark or too pink! Really wanted to like it :(
That makes me so sad because I am very pale with yellow undertones. Thanks for the info!
That’s often my issue with drugstore foundations for pale skin tones.
The FX MUA You should probably hop over to John Maclean’s channel for foundation suggestions. He’s ghostly.
your eyelashes are so long what mascara do you wear? so pretty!!

Thank you for showing this foundation in real light!
You look very light and fresh!😊
I've only tried this with a sponge. Will definitely give it a go with a brush after watching this. Thanks. Also completely agree with what u said about brands listing undertones on their foundations! If Revolution can do it why cant they all 😀
I agree Claire. Revolution are excellent at listing the undertones on their website xxx
Hi Gemma! Thanks for another good review. Do you think this is similar to the Dream Satin foundation? Kind of reminds me of that.
The dream satin is smoother and a thicker formula but I LOVE that one too. It was the first foundation I EVER reviewed on my channel so I have a soft spot for it xxx
@@PamperedWolf awe. Sentimental. Thanks. Will be trying
What's the colour is? Thanks
Great review,as always. Will have to dig out my little plastic pots and grab myself a sample to try when I'm in town next! Soph. x
Hey Gem could you do an eye look for big brown eyes please
Gamma, you look absolutely stunning. If you find the perfect color in that foundation will you let us know? We have the same color/shade/undertone issues. PS I laughed (with you not at you) when you told the sewing accident story. Sometimes I amaze myself at how klutzy I can be. XXOO❤
Of course xxx
What colour are you using
Hi Gemma, I have been looking for a review on It CC cream and what you think of it and if you would use a primer under it? Thank you and I love your information because it is so right on!
Kim Mailloux she has a video on the IT cc cream. I just watched it yesterday but I don’t know if she used primer. When she starts out saying she has all of her skin care on I don’t know if that includes primer. In other channels I have noticed that some always use primer no matter what foundation they are reviewing. Do you regularly use primer???
Thank you! Helpful and inspiring as always.
I like the fit me of coarse but I use dollar tree makeup and also use the believe beauty dollar generals new makeup line
Thanks Gemma.
Yes I do. Either go with a tinted moisturiser or a light foundation. So glad you met Charlotte. She's gorgeous xxx
Hi Gemma, thank you for this! Would you please do a full face review of Covergirl makeup? Thank you so much for your glass makeup look video!
It's difficult to get Covergirl I the UK Natalie xxx
@@PamperedWolf Oh, ok, I understand. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Love & appreciate all you do!
Hi Gemma. Very informative video as usual 🥰 just wondering if you have tried By Terry Hyaluronic hydra foundation? I’m interested to know you thoughts if so and if this foundation could be a dupe? X
I haven't tried it but it's been on my list for a while now. xxx
Have you ever tested the Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sunk Milk SPF 50?
I haven't xxx
