I've taken Lisinopril 20mg daily for over 20 years for blood pressure. For most of this time it has had only one side effect: brain fog. This has been terrible, as my work was often with complex computer programs. Recently I learned that Magnesium L-Threonate, which can penetrate the blood-brain barrier, is effective against brain fog. It worked within 15 minutes, and was required only once a day. Without the handicap of brain fog, I can now control my diet and have already lost substantial weight. Hopefully I'll be able to get off of Lisinopril.
Thank you for sharing, I've just had a stroke and have taking Lisinopril and wondered why I was getting such brain fog ever since starting Lisinopril! ❤
I've taken lisinopril for years with no side effects. But as my physician is fond of saying, all meds have side effects. It is incumbent on a physician to fully explain this and of equal responsibility of the patient to ask questions, research, and report any reaction to the physician, aka personal responsibility.
I was on this for a while. It started out as a small cough that kept getting worse until finally I had an occurrence of vasovagal syncope where I blacked out while driving a car. Until this happened docs thought my cough was due to other things. Lisinopril also leached the zinc out of my blood and cell. Since getting off lisinopril I have gotten very healthy with no cough or syncope.
I had been on atenolol-50 mg and hydrochlorothiazide for nearly 25 years. My healthcare provider put me on lisinopril-10 mg. Within a few days, I began having very uncomfortable back pain on both sides of my body, and low volume urine....should note that I have been on Gemtesa for about 1 year. Today, I decided not to take the lisinopril, and took the hydrochlorothiazide instead. The back pain in both sides practically diminished, but what seem to completely diminish the pain is fresh ginger slices. I try to be aware of how my body reacts, so I am certain it was the ginger, because it happened right after eating ~ 6 slices. I read that lisinopril can cause acute kidney problems, so I don't know if that is what was happening? I don't know what to do other than to inform my healthcare provider, and I don't think it will go over well.
I have been taking Lisinopril for years now and have no major issues. One time my feet got itchy, but I applied lotion to them as they were dry and it went away.
I was given his medication by an urgent care doctor and after being on it for two weeks I was so tired from it but I actually went to bed when I woke up I really thought my cat wet the bed and then it dawned on me with the cat surely didn’t crawl under the covers between my legs to wet the bed. And this is not something I ever done is in the dark I don’t care how drunk I just didn’t have I don’t remember getting up and sitting at my computer and thinking I must be dying because I’m dramatic like that and a bottle of lisinopril was sitting there next to my computer and I look over and I see that baby cause extreme drowsiness and something else and I thought oh my God it’s that medication‘s! I’m on irbesartan which works great is super cheap other than the taste I’m very happy with it.
I have only been on it since 2023 my DR Put me On It When My Blood Pressure and Cholestrol were both High I have had 2 Strokes as a child I do not like taking thing that have side effects and more😊
Thank you! Severe itching since I started this medication which I assumed was due to my fibromyalgia![? Is also painful, nettle feeling, for which I take fexafenodine.
I started this medication for high BP and I felt so sick. Dizzy, Brain fog and a mild head ache that just made everything feel worst but I noticed towards mid day I slowly started to feel better and in the evening I was okay except the dizziness. I was thinking of taking it at night and sleep through the side effects. I don’t know
How are you doing? Did you take it at night? I get very mild blurry vision in 1 eye can still read goes away as the day goes no weird discoloring, its strange.
I've taken lercanidipine hydrochloride 20mg 1 x day for >3years for HT. A year ago I was prescribed, additionally, lisinopril 10mg 1 x day. for HT. My resting 'bloods' multipy recorded over 1 week averaged seem good ( syst ~136/dias ~ 81). I have Diabetes 2, marginally. Is there a case for reducing the 2 HP medications?

I've been on it for years with no problems at all, but it's good to know potential side effects. Thanks for this video.
I also have been taking it for several years. No problems. As my physician says, there are side effects for every med.
good for you. 😊
I’ve taken lisinopril since 2018, did notice some tiredness and especially a weakness to extreme heat or cold but it’s gotten better 😊
I just started damn it's hard because I'm feeling withdrawals . Because the pill is working
What a clear, concise explanation! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
