The combination of him being very intelligent and studios plus having a fantastic excitement about life is an infectious combination, I very much enjoy listening to John speak. I think he's wonderful, warm and engaging. I love that he steers right off the topic then somehow picks it back up again. It'd be great to have John as a friend.
I don't have words to describe or express how I admire that man. He's so talented and passionate about fashion. We all know he made mistakes but who didn't? To me, he'll always be a great designer and a great person ❤

...and he's not going anywhere, he's still designing. Instead of designers uplifting the industry, I'd say that it is the fact that most luxury brands are nowadays owned by just a few companies and in order to maximise profits they won't invest in risky designers or truly innovative ideas - because they generally don't make money.

I remember working for John in London. A charming man and so creative. The ‘Art’of fashion always present. After lunch one day I returned to the studio, he opened the door in a ball gown and accompanied me to my work station. I was a student……so much fun. The team were so lovely too. 🙏 I am lucky to have these memories

But now I work in nature with horses as a healer for people who need it. The industry of fashion for me now is alien. It does not serve me anymore. I think that John Galliano would be a great teacher in the classroom. As I listen to him, he reminds me of the biographical book I read about the renowned Italian filmmaker, Federico Fellini, about twenty years ago. They both have a certain degree of artistic playfulness.
Galliano seems guarded. While it's not I who needed the apology, apologize and repent he has, at least, it seems. Apart from that, hiis genius is not lost. It would be impossible considering all the beautiful, poetic, breathtaking moments he created.
May be me, but I think he's a bit irked because it's probably the millionth time someone has brought up the Opera Garnier show and want him to say something fresh about it. I know I'd be, considering he's still putting out interesting work but a lot of interviews still want to talk about his tenure at the D-word which should not be named in this interview. Some of Tim's questions also seem a bit... abstract and it's not just John who wants some clarification on what he's asking.
I've loved this skillful's man work for ages; he is a total legend...even beyond a legend and such an inspiration. People can learn a lot from him by observing how he handles ideas and how he "fishes" them on a hook. Great interview.
