I am so happy John has his voice back and is making more of an effort talking to the media. He has such knowledge and experience, it was such a waste when he was quiet. Very happy to see him shine and share. Thank you for producing this video. Much appreciated
He seems in a good space. More humble than he used to be, perhaps. Less affected. A creative genius. At the end, as he was examining the objects, he was listening so intently and I suddenly felt how much he was giving of himself and tears just sprang from my eyes.
Everything he says holds immense value and thought. A true inspiration for generations, He has drawn inspiration from Vionnet, but for us, he is the true inspiration. It's crucial to tap into his wisdom through more videos; we're witnessing a genius of our time."
a good designer is a great story teller and world builder as someone who is neurodivergent we think abstract especially with add( adhd) its unfortunate that many of us are not hired for work in the industry and rather pushed aside even though were really smart but hopefully that changes with time many artists and creatives have this aspect.
Have you tried? Are you trained in fashion design, garment construction, pattern cutting or anything related to this industry. Even for non neurodivergent people, this is an incredibly tough industry to break into. It's not like regular jobs and no one is just given a job on fashion. If you follow most fashion insiders journeys, they have either worked beyond hard and all reason to get where they are or they are just well connected to others in the industry, so those are and will always be the two routes to success. It's much easier to get a behind the scenes job than to become the next Galliano.
@@rewghob I have a degree in fashion design menswear and ladies, I worked in the industry for 4 years as a Qc specialist/ data entry, sewing/ cutting production for cirque du soleil costume, and logistics for ssense, and now I'm going into a company for assistant in ladies production and marketing, I recently got this position after 8 months and 367 applications and 4 interviews by luck and every time I go into these interviews what I've noticed is 1: they want someone to be a yes man who doesn't question them 2: they underpay workers for the demands they are asking of 3: even when I had connections it still didn't work out and the environment was bad unfortunately. and they repost the same job a week after saying they found the individual the industry is broken.
If you could find an artisan who could make a Birkin bag, like H Q D U P S , and if you had the opportunity to buy the exact same Hermès leather, same hardware, and pay a tenth of that, I highly doubt you would buy it ethically
Wicked geezah. If the contemporary entertainment industry could only realise the world is connected, that we all learn from each other, influence each other, perhaps then they would stop churning out such utter shite. We are all responsible for each other's mental, psychological and creative well-being.
I am very happy with the replica bag I bought at H Q D U P S. They are on par with the original designer bags in terms of durability and attention to detail, and have saved me a lot of money.
Agree, understand yet at the same time I think it's just coincidence bc it's a very tiny group sitting there. ✌🏻🪷 Wanna add something: I don't excuse the one who put the students together or do I personally think that as a fact , bc I don't know 🤷🏻♀️ It's more an "option" kind of way
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on the craftsmen and quality inspection. My family and I have purchased D U P B A G Y bags over the past three years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
It costs a lot of money to be a student esp now in the UK, but these are students from all across Europe, which is obvs majority white. Going to art school for fashion just isn't all that affordable and so you'll mainly find rich kids in there inc some overseas students who pay even more than home students to study. There are black people working in the UK industry at least. I'm not so sure about the rest of Europe.
@pagethreemodel sadly it does cost a lot. If you do get to go, you then need a ton of money to set up a label or you need a backer to fund your label. It's not just as simple as go to fashion school, set up your label and become successful. Even Galliano struggled in the beginning. It seems like you moaners just don't understand the industry. Most fashion businesses fail. Support Mowalola and Telfar plus up and coming black designers. There's no point begging to be in rooms that aren't for you.
@antoniohussey8936 you sound emotional and I'm being realistic as someone who knows people who are in this industry and some who went to CSM and aren't the next Galliano, Gaultier, Westwood etc. There are black students in fashion colleges across the world, but cry about not being included in a room with Galliano, a white designer with a white European outlook and interest in European history. That is ridiculous.
This is gold for these students! And for us who admire, breathe or just simply love fashion at it's highest form ✌🏻🪷 I only wonder what Martin Margiela himself would think about the latest show. Whis he would send an social media text or so with his name but an anagram of his

well he was silent for a good reason
What do you mean?
he was in a very bad spot at the time
I drew him out 🧜🏾♀️
It was me 😊 I found him on Instagram and was like JOHN I thought you were dead 😂
He’s been out in full force ever since lol
John’s relationship with his muses and creative team is so inspiring. He is an example of poetry meeting perfect technique.
I think I would be crying with happiness sitting in that room. I'm already tearing up.

I love that the models are given the opportunity to contribute to the discussion👏
I think they are both probably his lovers

He is ridiculously talented. Such a pleasure
What a one life time opportunity to ask varies question of Galliano's experience in fashion he has sure made an impact in the fashion industry!💗
Can't believe he mentioned Death in Venice. Devastating and Beautiful. I get him on yet another level. What very special and deep insights he has.

As usual couturiers only use black models in their summer collections the rest of the year they are not seeing.
