Bronze to Gold replays for this series have been uploaded. If you're a Twitch sub or Patron you can access it in the Replay Packs channel in my Discord channel
Mate, your videos literally got me back into starcraft, in 1 day, ive gone from bronze to gold where before i was stuck in silver for weeks... youre a legend!
I learned how to beat a GM streamer.. 1. Setup an attack with doom drop in main base. 2. Timing this with a donation of 3000 $ to GM streamer, then he loose focus to the game.. easy win and you can brag to your friends
I know I'm late to the party, but... This series/guide got me back into the 1vs1 scene. I've been playing co-op and nothing else for about a year because of ladder anxiety. I used to be gold 3/2 player in 2019 Now I'm plat 2 and climbing. Turns out, the problem I was having is the macro cycle. I skipped about a million of them in a game. Especially when cheese happened. This helped me get the right mindset. No matter what: Build SCVs, units and depots. Haven't seen the rest of the series, so I assume you get into the whole "1 rax reaper FE" later on, but as I see it now, that was one of my biggest crutches. I'd focus on microing the reaper way, way too much. Why should I, now knowing that having 10 more marines and 3 marauders will win me the game regardless of me killing 1 or 2 peons. Thanks PiG. Much appreciated.
I haven't played SC2 in probably 4-5 years, and your vids are a huge stepping stone to get back in. Thank you so much for your hard work on this series
Thank you for this tutorial. I was following Vibes B2GM (mech version) but, found the build weak against cheese, early pushes, aggression, etc. It also wasn't too enjoyable; constantly trying to expand and push back aggression. This build is a nice balance between macro and early aggression/micro, far more enjoyable. My win rate has also shot up, even against strong players who are 200 MMR above. I'm around 2.7k on EU.
Ty so much for this. It's really starting to make SC2 make sense for a noon like me. Eagerly waiting for the rest of the series! Thanks again for the awesome content.
Yeah, this 'go in with a few units' just melted my zerg opponent. And I only had 2 tanks, so most of it is really the bio just standing better. Before I watched, getting to minute 12-15 means I'm dead agaisnt zerg, but now not more. BTW on plat rn, silver/gold strats absolutely enough for it.
I can't thank you enough for this content. It's so helpful to a new player. SC2 is hard to get into and learn. The way you teach is exceptional. Thank you!
just getting back into starcraft after playing the original all those years ago, i always sucked at RTS games but these vids have been amazing for me to learn how to properly play them. Loving the content!!
I have never played this game before in my life but a few weeks ago a friend sent me this video series and I'm already Gold 3 off of the first video alone. Thanks PiG.
One thing I do sometimes when I get wrecked by something I haven't seen before is to just not worry about it. I figure I'll get better at dealing with more common situations.
Pig your B2GM series are amazing. Through them I learned all three races to a decent level. I was procrastinating learning Terran as my third because I don’t enjoy it that much and also seems complicated. However I just followed your bronze/silver build and other suggestions and immediately placed into the top of gold league 😂😂😂 Decent macro and a crisp timing attack can actually get you so far… Thanks again for your methodical and easy-to-understand teaching!
I'm diamond and I still find a ridiculous amount of value in these videos (especially the calm split and wait instead of a-moving and trying to micro like crazy). This is the right mindset to have fun at Starcraft while improving!
This series is great! I’ve just recently gotten back in to SC after about 12 years off 😂. Got SC2 when it was new and it overwhelmed my computer at the time and killed the vid card 🙄. Always played NR20s back in the day on SC1 so never developed any good multiplayer fundamentals so this has been so helpful. Really appreciate how much you verbally reiterate the macro cycle steps. Really really good teaching!
Wwooww Amazing, i have been studying your build order and macro grind and building loads of marines, marauders tanks and some medivacs and i have just won a game against a 2032 MMR players by having more troops of mine killing his army.. Im bronze league and this method will move me up the Ladder. Thank you so much !!!!
Lived in cali my whole life. I think people have this idea of it in their head that's inconsistent with reality. Awesome video, thanks for the incredible content. I'm learning a lot. just did the placement matches and got gold 2! Hoping I can push into diamond this year
I really wanted to thank you for these videos thanks to them I went platinum and in esl I won the weekly tournament with two stronger opponents thank you very much.
Game 3 is so amazing, I was playing today and I got blown up by an oracle, and I didn't handle it properly at all. I love this content so much, the constant thought process explanation that PiG does is so helpful. Feels like I play 5 games, have questions and the video answers most or all of them
Thank you so much for the videos. i'm a silver player and have been learning so much from your series. I'm getting flamed for being "not actually silver" lol. macro for the win!
This is so helpful thanks PiG. Terran is my least experienced race. I can normally macro half decent but got shredded by storms. This will take practice but Ill try splitting
That "scan your army before attacking Protoss" is a real huge tip ! never thought about it but I'm especially a "widow mine + battleships fan" and widow mines don't like Protoss scouts ! ^^' Another huge tip : minimize micro as much as possbile especially as Terran ( 11:00 ish)
I started sc2 when it came out but took a huge time off and now using this as a guide to start again. I learned drag scroll from dota2 because it keeps the cursor in the middle of the screen and more control of the camera. To use your own words: Not using drag scroll is abject laziness.
Started watching Salt Mines, binged it, bought the last 2 addons after I stopped playing ~2011, playing the campaign currently and planning on playing a bit of multiplayer after that. These learning videos are super helpful. Iirc I never got above Silver. This time, it's going to be Diamond! +1sub & thx for making these vids.
47:35 that's a common mistake, you can see the main is still rallying to its own minerals, because it's saturated the player has stopped using it to build probes. Had they rallied it down to the natural they could've saturated it in half the time.
I keep rewatching this as I'm still in silver, I'm not stuck, I'm happy in silver for a bit while I improve my fundamentals, back when I played a couple of years ago I got to gold/plat too quickly and it made me care about winning too much. Enjoying the learning process (apart from fast 1 base BC!) I'm getting better at recognising it, I keep changing the input slightly but still haven't won against it. xD I'll get there, I'm mostly enjoying sucking at the game apart from fast BC, but I know that when I find the correct response it will be an easy win.
Pig Ive test it. Marines pop up from the right side rax, if u rally them to bunker. The main reason=Bunker is 3x3 building so as rax, u block with depo all squares where they can move out. So marines can spawn Left side or right side, they cant spawn inside the bunker. Sooo if u just rally ur banker, marines will spawn from the right side of rax and move all the way and can be attacked by units from the hatchery.
15:40 Interceptors are shockingly tanky for 15 minerals at 40 health + 40 shields! Thors take 4 very slow shots to kill them in Explosive mode (the default), but they also deal splash damage. This is fine if you are supporting other units that want to kill interceptors. But if you have mostly Thors or other units good at targeting the Carriers, that's a much better option, using High Impact mode.
About that bunker placement in the tvz, it seems the marine poped outside the depot because the SCV building the bunker blocked it and not because of the bunker placement, was just unlucky.... I kind of like that placement because it makes it harder for zerg to get a surround on the bunker...
Your videos instabumped my gameplay up a level or two! I had some good understanding of the game but never had that system of yours going in my mind. Do your stuff, do macro cycle, rinse, repeat. No more 2k unspent minerals! Btw - rimworld music is cool)
33:59 thats a huge point you didnt really explained, where you must leave 2 spaces for the add on. I kinda figured it out now also with the barracks you can just look at the grid and stack them up in a straight line vertically.
I've gotten to gold! Only after 10 days of starting my climb. I'm gonna keep trying, I'm sure the climb to platinum will take quite a bit more but I'm sure I can do it, following these guides. Still dying to a lot of cheese tho.
46:10 This happens to me all the time. I order my army to go somewhere, and the damn medivacs always go first because they are fast, and they die. Like that fight there would have been won if the damn meds didn't suicide. Probably the solution would be to have a separate control group for the meds, and order them to stay behind where the main army goes?
I know this is 3 months old but if you attack-move your medivac (It's actually called scan-move for a medivac because they have no attack, but should use the same key) onto a marine in the back they will follow that marine and heal.
I learned this build order and was placed in masters league initially. Now I wait to be degraded to bronze, because I only can win against MMR1500 or so... That was fun
ty i started to watch the protoss b2gm but i can't learn the build oreder... switch to your terran b2gm and followed your instruction and i wan 6 match in a raw. ahahah ty again i think terran is callin me.
Im a noob that sucks on micro more than macro. Maybe this is an obvious training technique but I just discovered I can train with replays just rewinding and taking over to the same battle (against AI) over and over until I feel I am doing a little better in managing the units. I think this mechanic is not mentioned as much in these tutorials so might be useful for other people learning.
Loving this series. My question is what is the thought process behind upgrading the natural to orbital before saturating it? In my build I’d saturate and then upgrade the natural cc, but I will try upgrading it first and then saturating.
Noob question but what is a smurf or if someone is smurfing? This series is really helping. Watch a video play a couple games... rinse and repeat til i'm not shit lol
I was looking at the google doc to get a feel for your plan for the series. Can you still show some Plat bio? That’s where I get stuck with it… Thanks again for this series!
Great insights this single handedly helped me so much as a new terran player. Question i have is how do you know when the stimpack ends? It doesn't seem obvious to me besides the movement speed being slowed. Bc the damage to the unit + using medivac juice stimming too much is tremendously taxing.
I use drag scroll on high sense. Turned edge scroll all the way down. Always hate when I accidentally touch the edge of the screen and everything moves. Just what works for me..

Welcome back mate!
Dude for sure. Pig is creating some of the best educational content for the game. Big fan.
I learned how to beat a GM streamer.. 1. Setup an attack with doom drop in main base. 2. Timing this with a donation of 3000 $ to GM streamer, then he loose focus to the game.. easy win and you can brag to your friends
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone bragging about pissing 3 grand away to their friends but okay🤣!
I know I'm late to the party, but... This series/guide got me back into the 1vs1 scene. I've been playing co-op and nothing else for about a year because of ladder anxiety.

That 1 eth drop so funny and awesome, glad to see your love for starcraft supported so much :)

CT hi
@@ALVINSTALVIN huh?
I've never seen anyone explain what to do AFTER you prespread your army. Thank you for walking through this!

Some of the best content for coaching out there. 😭😭thank you so much PiG love your casts man!

Thanks again for your methodical and easy-to-understand teaching!
The term you couldn’t remember at 41:30 for a ‘grouping/preparation area’ is probably a ‘staging area’ :)
I'm diamond and I still find a ridiculous amount of value in these videos (especially the calm split and wait instead of a-moving and trying to micro like crazy). This is the right mindset to have fun at Starcraft while improving!

That moment when your kid starts having an interest in SC2 and wants to learn more. Excellent timing my padawon come watch the archive files with me 🤣
yes u can rally marines directly in the bunker. if bunker is right next to barracks - marines will just spawn in bunker
thanks!
Wwooww Amazing, i have been studying your build order and macro grind and building loads of marines, marauders tanks and some medivacs and i have just won a game against a 2032 MMR players by having more troops of mine killing his army.. You are such a great teacher! Make it so intuitive , comprehensive and interesting all at the same time 🌟🌟 many thanks for that! ❤️🙏💜
HOLY SHIT a thousand dollars! would have love to see the reaction that was completely insane
Edit: Was not expecting that follow up... i have no words
@10:02 @ 14:13 This right here was invaluable information to add to my kit. Ty.
The way that you teach is easy to follow. and truly is inspiring. You're amazing in my eyes.
I really wanted to thank you for these videos thanks to them I went platinum and in esl I won the weekly tournament with two stronger opponents thank you very much.

Really appreciate this methodical teaching, and also seeing how the build plays out in a whole series of games. Helped me enjoy ladder matches again.
That ETH donation was PURE love and joy.
This worked: after years of not playing, I practiced this a few times, got placed in Silver 2 and won my first two games just by having more stuff.
I know these have been already recorded, but maybe doing those initial parts on a custom game at a slower speed might be more beneficial.
Play at 0.75 speed, helps me
Honestly just using control groups got me out of bronze haha thanks
I have won 8 of my last 10 silver tier 3 games just doing the macro cycle (or as best my adhd brain can anyway lol), this series is very good.
great guild. thank you so much for detailed explanation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for the videos. i'm a silver player and have been learning so much from your series. I'm getting flamed for being "not actually silver" lol. macro for the win!

you are one of the better teachers, and not just in a computer game
Thank you so much Pig :) In just a few days I was able to improve massively with Terran. That was a lot of fun.
Re: the rally point change for a floating CC. you simply rally > TAB > reLand . The floating cc is regarded as its own subtype
PiG is fuckin amazing. "We managed to protect ourselves from uour own incompetence". This is 100% me against storm and banes.
I started sc2 when it came out but took a huge time off and now using this as a guide to start again.

fair play to who ever annotated the video during the silent parts :)
Need a version of the video where Dot deadpan dubs the missing commentary.

I watched this video 5 times already lol. So much useful informations for noobs like me. Your channel is gold to learn sc2 ! Thanks a lot.
20min in and he's already listed several of my bad habits. How does he know all my donkey behaviour?
he's done plenty of coaching and saw us metal leaguers being donkey most of the time
Loving these video's! They are helping so much! Wow that dono!
I've gotten to gold! Only after 10 days of starting my climb. I'm gonna keep trying, I'm sure the climb to platinum will take quite a bit more but I'm sure I can do it, following these guides.
Still dying to a lot of cheese tho.
best tutorial series. thanks!
I just got through the 10 day verification matches and starting placement today. I'll update you on how I do.
Came here for SC2, stayed for Bruce and Gary.
2:03:15
“Attention to detail! Teamwork is the key!”??? Haha
Alright man I'm a brand new player, gonna watch all these and see what I can do. Wish me luck
46:10 This happens to me all the time. I order my army to go somewhere, and the damn medivacs always go first because they are fast, and they die. Good thing there was a zerg game...I forgot how different those matches are!
thanks for the great content pig! the zerg series was fantastic im sure this will be great too!
2:09:20 You can buid a "lightweight train" directly to the enemy base
people claiming that guy was smurfing (46:08), as we see a marine walk through his army without being attacked :P
You do good work. This series is great!
I am guilty of all the mistakes you listed xD thank you for the vid
I learned this build order and was placed in masters league initially. Now I wait to be degraded to bronze, because I only can win against MMR1500 or so... That was fun
That music at about the 1:10:00 mark is RImworld music LOL
ty i started to watch the protoss b2gm but i can't learn the build oreder... switch to your terran b2gm and followed your instruction and i wan 6 match in a raw. ahahah ty again i think terran is callin me.
Great content, great analysis!
This is a great series
WHAT A BEAST @PIG THANKS M8

These are just Awesome. Thank You. Now I just wish blizzard would fix the log in so I could try these out.
12:04 I feel personally attacked
Loving this series. My question is what is the thought process behind upgrading the natural to orbital before saturating it? In my build I’d saturate and then upgrade the natural cc, but I will try upgrading it first and then saturating.
Noob question but what is a smurf or if someone is smurfing? This series is really helping. Watch a video play a couple games... rinse and repeat til i'm not shit lol
I'm waiting for the game or games where 2 streamers are making a how to video vs each other.
Sc2 esl championship league lol.
Ty dude u rlly help me
thaks a lot I have reached gold in a week watching only the bronze vid
I was looking at the google doc to get a feel for your plan for the series. Can you still show some Plat bio? That’s where I get stuck with it…
Thanks again for this series!
1:20:30 I always worry when a player has enough left over APM to chat
this game shill alive, fkin A, lets go
Great video
Greetings from México
really good advice, thanks so much :) u teach well
JFC That dono!!!!! Holy shit!
Great insights this single handedly helped me so much as a new terran player. Question i have is how do you know when the stimpack ends? It doesn't seem obvious to me besides the movement speed being slowed. Bc the damage to the unit + using medivac juice stimming too much is tremendously taxing.
There a small orange visual cue that appears each time (on each marine) when it finishes. Also you can count to 11 after your called the stimpack.
If you wanna hear PiG actually oink, go to around 1:04:30 LoL!
This is great content, thank you!
1:02:39
Yamatos marauder*
People are goofy, man.
(edited: thought it was a marine at first. That would have at least killed a unit that can attack)
I use drag scroll on high sense. Turned edge scroll all the way down. Always hate when I accidentally touch the edge of the screen and everything moves. Just what works for me..
What a treat
33:45 - bitcoin at an all-time high. :D
You are so funny dude, thanks for your teachings, nice channel :)
Holy shit he’s got Carriers 😂😂 12:45
hahaha i forgot about this, rewatching it is so funny
1:10:00 rimworld theme in the background?
