Hope you guys enjoy this vid! My 2021 B2GM series is still completely relevant btw, this one will just focus on making a heavy robo base to our army and LOADS of observer vision/scouting all the way to GM. I’m getting out of the hospital tomorrow and watching DreamHack made we want to get back into sc2 and learn a new race. Couldn’t be luckier with the timing!
bloody hell, posted just as i was thinking of getting back into the game after 12(or 13?) years after seeing stormgate and wanting some RTS in my life again!
I've found that Day9's advice about being very precise and single clicking a probe or whatever is more helpful in Broodwar where things are a little slower and the units much dumber. SC2 gives you a little more wiggle room, like the difference between a parent that loves you and a parent that would love you after you get he gold medal at the Olympics.
Nice to see a relatively new b2gm, I tried playing some games after a year of hiatus and it felt like I dropped from diamond to gold so it seems I have to go back to basics
I thought he was playing people in actual ranked 1v1s, but I was pleasantly surprised that he doesn't want to ruin people's mmr, and genuinely wants to help the SC community get better
Thank you so much for this guide! I’ve recently started SC2 and your bronze to gm series is so helpful with the clear and concise explanations, definitely worth a sub
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Trying your build order in Silver League and it works) Please note that you missed Forge when you made Twilight Council and +1 for Attack, in your build order in Google Docs and via screen sharing.
PiG I love your content. I am a 2900 MMR Zerg player right now and just beat a 4200 MMR Korean Terran :D With your content I have gotten to 2900 MMR and I keep practicing and watching tons of different videos and it has helped alot.
Love the video's ive made huge improvements, the only issue is I'm still not familiar with what units counters what. Also .... in Casual games UNRANKED ... 50% of players use cheese tactics .... stealing your gas with a building , pilon bomb , reaper rush, zergling rush , etc.... so your tecnic is great to learn fundamentals. To familiarize yourself its great .... but in real actions .... i had to adapt my playstyle to build canons.... to counter.
The only difference between unranked and ranked is that it hides your MMR, so you're playing the exact same opponents - I'd advise just hopping straight into ranked so you can see your level. When you start out you'll face players near the middle of the ladder (way out of a true beginner's league) but with every game there's a huge flexibility in how much it moves you up and down with each win or loss, so it'll very quickly find out where you belong on the ladder. For truly new players it's expected to lose your first 5-10 matches until you start getting more even opponents. How to defend cannon rushes: ua-cam.com/video/-wBO_JK7GYE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=PiGCoaching Hop in my discord to get more help as you struggle to deal with various attacks and pressures: Join my Discord community! discord.gg/SkhbzCM
I am also new to SC2 and there is a lot of cheese out there, but if u scout no expansion then following pigs recommendations its pretty hard to lose immediately. You might have some less units, but you have faster reinforcements and shield battery and more money incoming so if u push them back, maybe find and kill their proxy it is an easy game.
I'll follow thus guide. I don't know sh*t about Protoss eve' if I'm D1 Terran. But it looks like a all-star team. Stalkers, adepts, ht, Dt, immo, colo, disrupt, voids, Oracles, Phoenix, carriers, mothership... It's like having Ronaldo, Messi, mbappe, Ronaldinho etc in a FIFA team. Terran joke units are marines, ghosts, ravens... And a bit reaper.
haha definitely not millions though my main channel is over 70k as I type this. Even 20k here is more than I expected as I've only been uploading on this channel in the last few years over a decade after SC2's release
Love this series so far, that first game was way too advanced for a bronze noob imo. Vibes guide is much simpler. I’d say in the middle might be good. But hey throw em in the deep end and they’ll learn to swim :)
Ive been doing this build (the zealot immirtal archon 2 bases) consistently and hitting around 7:30, im bronze 1 and already my opponents are doing some nasty stuff, should i jump to more reactive builds? Im loosing a lot😢
Hello! Loving the guides! Could you tell me if there is a way to press the “A” attack button without the left mouse clicking to confirm (quick cast)? I play terrans and when I want to hit and run and kite with my army I always have to confirm that attack command and I could find a way to fix that on my own.
you could just use stop instead of attack move with your stutter step micro to make it take one less click. The only way to make A move not require clicks is if you add A to your rapid fire key: ua-cam.com/video/YrrjM9GAYsM/v-deo.html
Could you please mix in a couple of non-standard interesting builds in in Platinum / Diamond? Something like glaive adepts when we will be learning to micro adepts
I'm going to really be focusing on this one core robo-centric style for this whole B2GM whilst my 2021 B2GM did a lot more focus on using many different unit types and compositions. That being said I'll definitely be doing small earlygame adept harass and show that micro, just not the big 10-15 glaive adept pressures. Not sure if I did a big glaive attack at all but here's where I started showing 2 adept pressure in the last B2GM: ua-cam.com/video/6fTWBanrzlQ/v-deo.html
Once your forge is invested in just keep upgrading unless you really can't afford it. Any time you think the game will go long, upgrades become more valuable. Double upgrades is a bigger investment in that long game and therefore more dangerous in the short term. It's up to you if you love double upgrades it can be a great investment - however if we spend too much time and money upgrading we might end up never attacking and become way too defensive - letting our opponents do whatever they want in the game. That can lead to you feeling like stuff is just happening to you and you're always surprised by everything your opponent does
you don't need to, I just like to use the same control group from earlygame gates as my warpgate hotkey out of habit. If you want you can just use a 3rd army key for gates in the earlygame then swap to the default key later. It is very important to control group your gateways so you can easily produce against pre-warpgate attacks
Hey, thanks for this. But say, if I want to change the initial Stalkers to Adepts, is it doable to build Council earlier so I can get Glaive sooner? Assuming Glaive upgrade is *that* important, that is. My reason for changing Stalker to Adept is because Adept looks cooler. Yes, I'm that noob that for me aesthetic > usability. But hey, just representing Bronze mindset here.
You can swap stalkers to adepts sure, but no you can't get the twilight any faster, the whole point of this build is for it to be an early double robo pumping out very powerful robo units. Arguable you could use adepts instead of zealot archon in your later push, but it wouldn't be as efficient
Love it Pig - I could offer u plat 1 Zerg of u need volunteers - however I have been struggling with Zerg lately. Back 2 2800 Mmr from 3000. Used ur old roach build combined with the 5 roach pressure from lambo. Glad for this Protoss b2gm. Keep up the great content and merry Christmas
going up and down constantly is part of the journey. Dropping anywhere as much as 400MMR when you're focused on learning new skills or styles, or adjusting to new strategies you havent faced from your opponents before - it's all totally normal. Stay focused on improving your build, hitting better timings etc. and you'll bounce back in no time! Merry Christmas mate!
Ladder is super all over the place. Sometimes players sit there for 15 minutes without leaving their side in bronze/silver. Other times you get some sort of early interaction every game
I no longer have to feel bad since we use volunteers instead of smurfing ladder to do these shows so it's not something I mind doing anymore, Gl hf on the ladder mate
I'm happy to hear that ^_^. All the hours spent playing, explaining, editing, and your awesome sense of humor are greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas Pig. Sending you and Dot all the blessings :):)@@PiGCoaching
Gotta say that was a very intresting attempt at a cheese from the T player. No offence but that hade to have been that players first attempt at a cheese ever.
I would also suggest building a forge early after getting a second base and placing a cannon in every mineral line by default Remember to get a couple obervers as well for detection and scouting

Best wishes for your recovery mate, welcome back to the ladder!
bloody hell, posted just as i was thinking of getting back into the game after 12(or 13?) years after seeing stormgate and wanting some RTS in my life again!
i just feel this, I played Stormgate and missed SC2 so i just restarted since 2016^^
OMG 18:43 that advice on Day9 I remember that video from AGES ago!
I've found that Day9's advice about being very precise and single clicking a probe or whatever is more helpful in Broodwar where things are a little slower and the units much dumber. I have been waiting for the Protoss series for some time! Great content, looking forward to Gold/Plat ;)
+1 for "ethically sourced noobs"
I thought he was playing people in actual ranked 1v1s, but I was pleasantly surprised that he doesn't want to ruin people's mmr, and genuinely wants to help the SC community get better

i just started this week and i love your previous b2gm playlist, glad to know there's an updated version
Thanks for sharing, PIG! Note, it looks like the Google Doc link directs to the Terran doc, probably just a carry over.
correct link! docs.google.com/document/d/1b_WpSP6yIvMdSMtPgadpp1Nl8jK0HYVF28Un6Q_GY0Q/edit?usp=sharing
How to get to GM:
1)tell zerg to go baneling in a bronze to GM
2) counter it with protoss bronze to GM.
FATALITY
Thanks!
thanks so much for the support mate!
You beautiful beautiful PiG, Ive been waiting for this series to come out before I really got sweaty in Ranked
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Trying your build order in Silver League and it works) Please note that you missed Forge when you made Twilight Council and +1 for Attack, in your build order in Google Docs and via screen sharing.
great catch thanks mate, fixed!
this series is as helpful as it is motivating
Love these guides, keep them coming
I recall Classic being a huge robo advocate building 6 robos pumping out disruptors in some of his games. 6 balls at a time! 😅
PiG I love your content. I am a 2900 MMR Zerg player right now and just beat a 4200 MMR Korean Terran :D
With your content I have gotten to 2900 MMR and I keep practicing and watching tons of different videos and it has helped alot.
sickkkkkkkkkk! Glad to hear you're kicking ass!
Thanks, just got diamond with Terran with prevous B2GM Terran series. Time for protoss ;)
eyyyyy congrats mate!
36:00 isn't stutter stepping forward an option? Not quite micro heavy.
Sure thing, I gotta be careful though since if i let myself micro much it's a slippery slope into winning games with GM control
its been 8y since I played ladder, was thinking of giving it a go again... but omg, the grind to learn...
I just picked up SC2 for the first time like a week ago. Really not that hard to hop in if you don't have false expectations.

I just saw that you have 20k subscribers, I thought you have millions
Great video mate👍

bro the people i play against would have already sent a massive rush by this point 4:28
im in bronze
Yesssss I was waiting for thiss

Why do you use a hot key for warp gates vs the built-in hot key?
BIG PIG FAN thanks 4 all bronze to GM
GReat XMAS PRESENT SANTA PIG!! Plat league here i come!! Great videos!!! i cant wait for 2024 B2GM!!!
Double post :poggies: exciting stuff! Gl hf everyone!

@@PiGCoaching Okay thank you!
Love it!
What is the rule for +1 attack and +1 defense? 10 units then +1? Then at 20 units +2? Why no double forge for double upgrades?

Game 4 is a comprehensive cheese response, but it's just as likely in the lower leagues that a terran's first rax is a minute late.

You literally don't have to add gates to control group. And should use warp gates button.

SC2, the most underplayed game of all time.
How can I switch on APM on screen?
Love it Pig - I could offer u plat 1 Zerg of u need volunteers - however I have been struggling with Zerg lately.
Back 2 2800 Mmr from 3000.
Used ur old roach build combined with the 5 roach pressure from lambo.
Glad for this Protoss b2gm.

nice
13:09 I think i heard a click.
first match: theres no way, 8minutes with no attacks ? it never happens that way
Ladder is super all over the place. Sometimes players sit there for 15 minutes without leaving their side in bronze/silver. Other times you get some sort of early interaction every game
FINALLLY
FINALLY!!
Yesssss
A bit advanced for silver?
I know you hate doing these but please please pump these protoss builds out. Help me obiswine kenobi...you're my only hope

Gotta say that was a very intresting attempt at a cheese from the T player. No offence but that hade to have been that players first attempt at a cheese ever.
Ethically resourced noobs. This is great.
Oi PiG, your build order has nothing to say about when to build zealots or how many.
Good point, you just build them once you've built the rest of your buildings and have spare money. Added to the notes
It's so mean to teach try hard silver leaguers to float 1k resources even if they're Protoss. ;)
This is horribly complicated with almost zero explanation.
10x too fast for a new player.
If you are new just focus on maintaining probe production and preventing supply blocks
I would also suggest building a forge early after getting a second base and placing a cannon in every mineral line by default
Remember to get a couple obervers as well for detection and scouting
