    I am taking down notes and I am now going to start my challenge. Right now my UA-cam channel is in a pathetic stage. Quality, sound, my presentation , just about everything. I started my channel on the 1st August and posted 4 videos and 4 shorts. I have a long way to go. Improve the way I talk, my stories telling, strategies and content on the whole. I’m gonna work on every strategy and formula you have shared and work on myself and my channel. I will update my progress Virginia, as I am your new fan now. Thank you for all your incredible tutorials.

    • @ThisIsVirginiaKerr
      @ThisIsVirginiaKerr  2 місяці тому +5

      We all start with less quality- play it like a game. Every video work on learning and/or improving one thing. Once you get that better -move on to the next thing. I still do that to this day. This video was me learning how to incorporate some of my viewers channels into my content and giving feedback. ☺️

    Your videos have been coming up in my feed, and I've found them helpful. Much more than some of those "big" content creating channels that are so flashy but often don't provide specific info. So, thank you! Here is an idea for a video: If someone, like me, has been trying to grow a channel for a long while (23 mos) w/ very consistent posting, yet the channel feels stagnant...would you suggest starting a 2nd channel to move some of 1st channel's content? Content that may be somewhat different than the main channel's goal/mission. Say a gardening channel that post cooking/baking videos occasionally.

    I'm primarily a shorts based outdoor channel. While I don't get to choose my thumbnail, I do get to come up with the title, which can take forever sometimes. I started my channel back in 2010 and did nothing with it until this year (kicking myself). Shorts took me to 160k subscribers in 6 months. I started off earlier this year spending every extra hour in my week watching channels that talked about similar tips as yours, which is why I think UA-cam has been pushing me your videos lately. So, if the people watching your videos actually take your advice, they will definitely see growth with their channel. Consistency is key. Keep up the good work. I’m thoroughly enjoying your UA-cam series and am so grateful to you for making them. I’m inspired. I’m a knitwear designer and I have a knitting channel where I mostly do video podcasts. Where I chat about my projects and designs. This type of video is very common in the knitting world but it’s not really teaching anything. I am currently doing a series of videos on different types of patterns for knitters to make for the upcoming fall season. And I’ll do other videos for pattern round-ups for different holidays/seasons. But my question is how would I best go about getting my podcast style videos to reach more viewers? When i stopped making videos to grab the algorithm and views to grab non subscribers is when i start seeing condistent growth. I focus on the community i have and whst they enjoy and i now get atleast as many views as i do subscribers, sometimes tens of thousands more while picking up about 100 nee subs per week. We have an awesome engaging commimity of people that tune in and interact every day. I came to the conclusion that their viewing consistency triggers the algo and more people like them subscribe and it continues to compound. There are larger channels in my niche but the ratio of views to subs isnt as good which tells me they are losing interest of the subscriber base and hitting plateaus in trade for trying to have that one viral video that hit more one and done viewers. Its a long game but its more "real" viewership that is more timeless. Great video, happy to see others grow on here using a more authentic approach.

    Virginia, thank you so much, this video is super helpful! I've been watching a few videos of you, and also want to recognize your courage to challenge yourself, the last video I watched you were being so naturally vulnerable, it really touched me!
    Anyways hehe, I'd like to have your perspective on a bilingual channel, I speak both English and Portuguese, so I'd rather have one channel and speak about all kinds of lessons I learn and my experience of life in the language that makes more sense to me at the time of the video or depending on the topic. Does it make sense or do you see it as being confusing?
    I'm also an English Coach and recently started a business around Human Design / Self-development, so both languages make sense to me because deep down it is how I am.
    Thank you so much, I hope getting your reply!

    I LOVE these videos, Virginia. In the middle of this one, I actually stopped it, and did the test you described re looking up other videos that deal with the same niches I am in: It was quite revealing. I'm definitely a SMALL UA-camr, and after doing this test, it became painfully obvious WHY that is: I have three (or more) distinctive niches, and it even says so in my channel artwork, which I was so proud to have recently uploaded! My niches are natural health, success, and freedom. In truth, my main interests go beyond that, into culture (a huge one for me) and politics, which I've always been interested in. Clearly, although it may be good in real life to have broad interests, in UA-cam it is killing me! It seems I somehow need to CHOOSE one main niche and go with that. I'm signing up for your newsletter, and even your free training, cuz I definitely need to drill down here! Thanks again for these videos, they are getting me to THINK!

      Hi there! So glad you're here! Think of your niche as a theme that combines your main interest with the person you're helping. you need to establish that before you add videos with unrelated topics bc the algorithm won't know who to send your videos too. And you can always inject your values and opinions into your theme related videos. Like mine. I don't have videos all about my faith but I can mention it when appropriate in a video.

    Your video is full of great advice, thank you 👍. Lots of 'food for thought', that I now have to go and have a good think about what I ought to be doing to my own videos in order to retain my audience. I've now got a new camera, as first few videos look rather shaky. Due to vocal chord problems, I'm unable to put commentary on my videos, and personally I don't like watching videos with AI generated voiceovers (so assume lots of other people don't either), so I haven't used that method. I therefore add music, but does having no commentary automatically put me at a disadvantage for retaining viewers?
