Thank you for including me in one of your videos!! I was so surprised when I looked down and seen myself. Wasn't expecting it at at moment and it made for a funny moment for me! 😂 I need some more help from you of you wouldn't mind. Mainly, narrowing down a niche. What everyone has trouble with I'm sure. But I'd love to pay for your time. Please let me know how we can do this if you are able!! ❤
After watching this, it's making me aware of my issues with thumbnails on my channel. Thanks so much! One video that scored over 64, 000 views in one month on my fledgling channel only had two words on top of thumbnail. It gained me over 50 new subscribers...I was SHOCKED! The video wasn't one I put time and effort into, which surprised me when it took off and did so well. "Incompetent Jackwagons!" was the thumbnail title, about dangerous tree-felling practices in a neighborhood next to a park frequented by children. Thanks for all your sage advice! I REALLY appreciate your tips and strategies!
Such a good video, Virginia! Really easy to digest, simple steps that I’m sure any YT’er can understand and utilize right away. A couple of things I’d like to point out that you’ll enjoy. 1. Your thumbnail grabbed my attention immediately. Easy to digest and made me jump back in, even having missed your last one. 2. Speaking of which, you ended the. Idea so well that I naturally, sure enough, just had to watch your suggested follow up video… which I might not have ever gone back to see. 3. Then I actually ended up watching the third video- your next recommendation.. which I had actually already watched a week earlier (where you’re driving to St. Louis), this time screen capturing your points along the way for better retention later.. should i ever make a YT video. So, you definitely practice what you preach and absolutely nailed retention - 3 videos all watched all the way through when I just happens to get hooked with the first one! 👏 4. The end result is, perhaps obvious but good for others to note here too, you’ve further built upon your brand and cemented in my mind that whenever I need inspiration and easy to implement tips - or at least think of one’s- you’re the channel to go to! I’m blown away how you keep doing these daily challenges and am just so glad I came across your initial video. Would have never imagined I’d still be following along but that’s how good you are at hooking new viewers I guess. Bravo! Great job. You’re truly an inspiration! And you can tell you’re a pro too, at this pointZ I truly can’t think of any way you could make any single one of your videos better. You just amaze me how on earth you keep coming up with new topics or new ways to repackage the fundamentals and yet keep them so engaging! I hope your family is so proud of you! 🎉
Wow James! This was so thouyghtful and kind of you to take the time to break this down. I really appreciate it. This feedback is super encouraging! Not sure I will be doing daily videos again for a while but I am planning this weeks videos now. Thank you again! Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Virginia, so glad that I clicked this video and watched until the end. You are so right. And after seeing this, I immediately did something with my latest long form video. I thought I had a really nice intro but I cut the first 8 seconds, and went straight to the point. This was what I removed “Perhaps every great thing in this world that has been made to happen starts with a dream, or imagination. @ThisIsVirginiaKerr No! Which video??? I thought I had watched them all. A couple people did mention you, but I thought they saw me in your comments. Thanks!
I am sending out a huge THANK YOU for this entire series. Genuinely remarkable and super helpful. As a 60+ woman who published my first novel, I'm a little intimidated by getting in front of the camera (I spent 20+ years as a pro photographer, so always behind it), but I feel so sure it's what I need to do and what I WANT to do. Not just to help promote my book series but also to share my reading journey (because I read A LOT) with as many people as possible. I really want to have fun. You've helped me realize why I want to do this. Love seeing your smiling face and will absolutely continue to watch and enjoy what you have to share.

This is an area I am wanting to learn and use in my videos in the future. Thank you from a very limited tech person 😅
Thank you! I actually don;t have a simple system for this. You might want to look into videos that explain how to use Loom or Camtasia. They allow you to record the screen while your face is on the screen. I am recording my screen on my computer and me on a camera and then combinging them in editing. I will get a better system but this is what I know how to do for now and it doesnt require a subscription.🤣

I thoroughly enjoy your videos. You an excellent teacher 👍. Still trying to figure out what to do with the concept of making videos. About a month ago I made a list of the first twenty videos that I will produce. The list includes the Title for the Thumbnail, the Topic of the video and the key words of the Scripture.....the channel will be devoted to Christian Discipleship. So, last night I took the time to just make Thumbnails for 10 if these videos 🎉. Now I haven't even recorded any film yet . Doing this gives me a guideline. Unknowingly, I did for the most part, do what you instructed today. I am camera shy, so they do not include my picture. Am I doing this too backwards?? Input, please!!?? Thanks again and God bless you and your family 🙏. Miss Monique 🙂🙏🌷💗
That's great! As long as you know your tthumbnails will "speak" to the person you're wanting to help. Often times it takes posting videos to get feedback to figure that out but looking at channels with similar thems can also giv ey ou ideas.
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Thank you so much for the input!!! I think that when I make the videos I will batch them. Question: how many videos can I upload in a day?? Listening to Matt Par, he suggests to put 30 to 40 videos on UA-cam in order to get monetized sooner than later. Do you agree?? Thanks again and God bless you and your family 🙏.
For me, the part where the dog came in was the most relevant, you may see the dog as a distraction or unprofessional, for me, the dog interaction is what makes YT different from MSM. Real people in their own environments, 'people just like you and me'.
You could google best fonts for your youtube thumbnails. I don't have any other than I make sure you can read them with 40 plus year old eyeballs 😂 in fact I'm going back to my old font bc the one I used for this challenge is too fancy
As usual fab video! How are you recording you live with screen behind. I'm using Clipchamp...is this recording screen & camera? I write n illustrate funny greeting cards n this would be perfect for my upcoming channel where I prompt how to write funny cards while showing my examples
Thank you! I'm using screen cast and then editing my face onto them. but I plan to use Stream Yard soon. Loom is another good option that lets you record yourself on screen while screen recording..
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Pls forgive my delay in thanking you for responding! Your channel is my "holy grail" at the moment! There are a millionty youtube videos about Greeting Cards & I'm aiming to make mine different enough to invite views...(I write & illustrate funny women cards & have sold 10,000+ from Etsy) & I'm posting a couple of videos this week...no matter how much better they will eventually be...because you said to!!! :o)

Am I doing this too backwards??
Input, please!!??
Thanks again and God bless you and your family 🙏.
Miss Monique 🙂🙏🌷💗
Huh. I think I'll follow your strategy since I want to join too. Thank you!😊
That's great!
This info helps my channel 🎉
you have the best channel I have found to help us new UA-camrs! I registered for the course!
Thank you! You mean you filled out the google doc to get your channel reviewed?
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr yep, I am assuming that is step one?
No sorry I mean I filled out the form to join the This is UA-cam School. :)
Yes
Great Video! I've learned so much.
Good to hear! Thank you!
Love your videos. Keep it up
Thanks for the content it’s really awesome
Love this❤
Great advice thanks!
Thanks for this! I wanna see how many mistakes Im making, maybe more than 3 even yikes!
These are the 3 major mistakes people make.
How do I put a picture/thumbnail on my video?
Thankyou... 👍🏼🤓
You're welcome!
Great video!
Wow, great idea. Thank you.
You're welcome!

@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr you are AMAZING 👏
For me, the part where the dog came in was the most relevant, you may see the dog as a distraction or unprofessional, for me, the dog interaction is what makes YT different from MSM. Real people in their own environments, 'people just like you and me'.
Great video!❤❤❤
Is there a popular font for thumbnails that you recommend? Great video!
You could google best fonts for your youtube thumbnails. I don't have any other than I make sure you can read them with 40 plus year old eyeballs 😂 in fact I'm going back to my old font bc the one I used for this challenge is too fancy
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Great idea!
God bless you ❤️❤️
I find myself looking forward to our daily “ talks”.
🤣 why thank you!
Hey Virginia, I'm thinking of doing the 30 Day UA-cam challenge. How do I join? I cant seem to find a link in your description
Hi there! It's the link for channel reviews. People doing the challenge are just creating videos with the tips in the my challenge videos and volunteering to have their channel reviewed.
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Okay thanks!
Good one
Thankyou!!! ❤🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks again Virginia ☺️
You're welcome!
Yesssss another video from Virginia
Took me longer than expected to get it out but it happened. LOL
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr We can wait because we know you are going to always give us your best. Thanks Virginia
I am participating in the challenge and will love my channel reviewed
I want to start posting but im scared as im introvert and i dont know how people will react.
It doesn't matter what I do, my videos NEVER GET PUSHED OUT THERE!!💔😭 I even have over 300 videos too..
I wish you'd use ASMR channels and videos to use as your examples. ❣️🙏🏼😥
Great tips. How can I participate in the challenge?
I am nearing my 1000 subs but need more watch hours, I have some ideas but would need guidance 🤨
