    I worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts from 1999 to 2014. We used those Okidata printers for our reports and receipts for most of that time. I got pretty good at troubleshooting them. My wife was laughing because I was yelling at the tv telling you where the ribbon was! 😂

    For the pry bars……. My father in law had an upholstery shop and the roll that the material comes on may be perfect for the bars to slip into for shipping. The rolls are thick and heavy duty. You could probably get them for free from a local upholstery shop.

    For the pockets I just use a sharpie permanent marker and write directly on the clear pocket itself. It doesn't rub off easily, and I dont have to worry about stickers or post it notes falling off. I write the numbers big so they're easy to see. Every pocket has its own number. Simple!

    Haunted by the paper for feeders. My dad bought a truck load of cases of paper at an auction in Baton Rouge. My brother had to rent a truck with a flat bed to pick it up. We spend a lot of time tearing off the edges for us to use. The majority of it ended up in the field getting ruined.

    Remember when you go to an estate sale and an item is in a different location from other electronics, doesn't mean the company "doesn't know what they have". It could have been picked up by another buyer and they changed their mind or the closet it was in had other camera/film splicer equipment in it and it's been sold prior to 50% off day.

    Cool buy :) I think if you are trying to focus on listings as a goal then I think that a listing equals a new item number. That is just me and how I run my business goals. I agree with your final decision, it doesn't make your buying less smart or less money, it will add up to way more money if you hit that listing goal every day

    I picked up a similar little tv recently, a black and white 5”. Obviously couldn’t get any channels to come in or anything, and the only input was for a 3.5mm headphone jack size, so I bought a 3.5 jack to coaxial adaptor and was able to get it working for a Sega Genesis (could obviously play any other old system using coaxial as well). This means that with a converter box like the one I’ve used to convert my 70s wooden floor model tv into a smart tv using a Roku box, I could technically have a little black and white 5” smart tv haha. There is no point to any of it of course, but I thought it was fun. I had it running sonic the hedgehog (title screen which also shows some demo of the gameplay) in my games room as a display piece for a bit.

    For the pry bars, ground advantage cubic might be the ticket. I've had good luck with some tool sets that way. For shipping them, they're pretty resilient. I would fold some cardboard over on each end to give them a little extra "cap". One wrap of bubble, then open up a cardboard box and roll the cardboard around it 2 to 3 times. If it'll work for the chisels I've shipped, it should work for pry bars. 🙂

    • @shedflips
      @shedflips  5 місяців тому

    Film Splicer: when I served on a US Navy Submarine in the 1970s, we would take 16mm movies to sea with us for crew entertainment. The average Hollywood movie would be on 3 reels, played one at a time on a projector. Each time a reel finished, the next reel had to be loaded, but before that you would have to rewind the one coming off, which delayed the next reel. Instead we used a splicer rig, like the one you have to do the rewinding, routing the film between the 2 spindles, skipping the splicer. We also used the spicer, if the film broke, to make an on-site repair,. Sometimes the bulb would melt a few frames if the take up spool jammed. We’d cut the damaged frames and splice it. This would tend to happen if the take up spool slide back in the cabinet during a fast transition to periscope depth. The projectors were retired when BETA machines were introduced to the fleet. 20-40 movies in the big OD Green military cases took a lot of space in a submarine.

    Sure do enjoy watching you two, you’re so funny…😂☺️
    It’s ok, no one ever pronounces Puyallup correctly. It’s just like cities or towns where you live too I suppose.. Anyway… Puyallup is pronounced “pew AL up” (with the emphasis on “AL”..)
    I just found a box of cookbooks apparently my husband bought at a garage sale. Several are from the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. I envy how fast you all get so many listings done, it takes me all day just to complete 3-4. I need to do an enhanced version of your momentum board, called “Kick me in the #*$@% ARSE” board.
