Just a tip. Some Pokémon are ACTUALLY FRIENDLY in the wild and will PLAY with you. I had a budew play a game where it came up talked to me then would lead me around and keep turning around making sure I was following. I eventually was like yeah this guy is coming with me. He hopped right into a ball.
Yeah when I had a bidoof on my team other bidoof would hang around and follow me lol there way a couple times they got in a way of a catch
@@dio_Brando1888 yeah this was a budew that was just out in the wild as I was trying to find a raltz. He just ran right up to me. Then turned around and walked a short distance and turned back and waited for me. I walked up and he’d run a short distance again. I recorded it abit.
Psyduck plays with you as well
That's super cute :D
@@jordonzuccatto7924 really? I mean I don't have a psyduck on my team but whenever I run into a wild one, i am always attacked with a Water pulse
My favorite thing about the game that I think people might miss, is being able to choose your moves from a list, so you can adjust your moves to what you need or if you are going to farm Pokémon through battles, only have weaker moves. It’s just a cool feature that.
Choosing from a list of known moves, crafting and finding items, evolution Button. No bs trade evolutions needed, main quest and side quests with lists. I hope these trends continue!
@@TheCrossed23 I agree. The crafting, and realistically the whole game just ticks the right boxes for me. Lol
@@TheCrossed23 there are still trade evolutions, at least I think so, but now there's an item that evolves pokémon without trading
@@pedrosobral4335 yer, golem is still trade.
Wish is wasn't.
@@JayKaye_Vortecx There's an item that looks like a link cable. Similar to the PMD item
This game is pure fun and enjoyment. I plead the original red and blue and yellow when I was a child. I'm 35 now. This game has made me feel like a kid again. Of course it could be better but so could just about anything. I heard a great quote the other day on Skill Ups channel. "Don't let the perfect get in the way of the good."
Haha I'm same age. This is really good to hear. Think ill pick the game up.
I feel the same. I'm 24, but I don't remember feeling this excited to play a game since Pokemon emerald. It's all I can think of right now is getting off work and playing the game.
That quote is about avoiding perfectionism in the creation process, not an excuse for deflecting any and all criticism of a piece of work. I'm enjoying the game so far, but there are clearly elements very worthy of criticism, like the hilariously bad graphics.
@@Christopher-md7tf I don't notice the graphics while playing. Theyre not that bad. There's some times (far away, in water etc.) Where I see pixelation. But overall I was surprised at how good the game looks. People act like it looks like pac man from the 1980s. They're not good, not bad, just not a factor in my gameplay
@@user-ni9wl1be7c "I don't notice the graphics while playing"
Lol wtf are you even talking about? You're not blind, are you?
"Theyre not that bad. There's some times (far away, in water etc.) Where I see pixelation. "
The texture work as a whole is absolutely terrible, just look at e.g. some of patterns on the character's clothing. It's comically bad. On top of that, there are lots of low-poly assets, lots of aliasing, pop-in, unstable framerate...
It's completely fine if you don't mind sub-par graphics, but these mental gymnastics you are doing in order to not have to admit that they are bad are frankly absurd.
Fun tip I’ve found, if you’re levelling up a Pokémon that is just gonna get knocked out in battles, keep it at the front of the party and send it to break rocks and hit trees, I got my eevee from 4 to 15 in like 2 minutes doing this :)
The non-combat XP is a very welcome addition.
@Naura Anisaha your family is tied up in my basement
also defeat the alphas to collect the exp candies
@@Ravishing_Rose that went dark jesus christ
Discovered this last night after catching my Shiny Alpha Eevee in one of those Spacetime Distortions. I never even noticed XP being earned until then.
This game is what the franchise needed and this formula should be used in future generations.
Agree, the next game has to mantain this feature
@@matteosarkar7893 just bring back gyms and badges… alpha Pokémon worked for Arceus but I think how you catch and evolve Pokémon and craft items and side quests 👍🏽 perfection
@@anthonydirienzo2666 yes just bring back the classic features of the gym battles and something else, because this style of gameplay in this game it’s so enjoying
@@matteosarkar7893 right on I agree! 🤙🏽
@@matteosarkar7893 scarlet and violet will be open world so I deff think Arceus set up for future Pokémon games and new games for the future will take some of Arceus formula w open world n stuff. I’m a new Pokémon fan I just recently gotten into the franchise but I will say that Pokémon legends Arceus is THE absolute perfect Pokémon game for me. Everything about Arceus is literally exactly what I wanted in a Pokémon game and I just am havin so much fun with it. I love this game so much dude I’m so happy they made this game. I really hope they make a sequel or even just have Arceus be the game that paves the way for new games in the future and have it be the revolutionary that the franchise stays just like Arceus.
I have to say this game definitely exceeded my expectations. I was pretty skeptical at first, and I’m glad I was wrong. Definitely the best Pokémon game since HS & SS.
100% agree. You a real one.
Ima need what you’re smoking if you think this game is the best since hgss…
@@danielsepulveda5592 care to elaborate as to why I not
I know, but just imagine if they would had 1-2 years of just polishing up the world, and make Dungeons, caves, small cities etc. Im saying they should copy breathOfTheWild's world. Then this game would be a system seller.
@@vikingtroll7086 small cities, yes. As for botw, I wish people would understand that as great as it was, NOT EVERY GAME HAS TO BE BOTW FFS!!
tip:
always store craft materials in the box, the camp craft sites access the box when crafting
also when using a priority move in agile style, it is possible to set up three consecutive turns
Oh really? Thanks Internet friend!
👍 just hit my 3 consecutive turns yesterday.
Told my brother about it and he asked me if I was hacking haha
Some crafting materials, such as apricorns, as always worth carrying so you don't rely on constantly returning to camp or town.
it surpassed my expectations ten-fold. i preordered it early and was honestly thinking about cancelling it until i saw the leaks. now i cant stop playing the game and it’s one of the few RPGs that make me want to interact with different NPCs and gain more insight into the hisui world/how it ties back to the pokemon we all know and love
the only shortcoming which idk if it’s bc i’m not far enough yet is that the “one town, pick any field map at the front gate” concept seems like it could get old if arent as invested in the game
I like this game. It's also refreshing to see something different to the formula, and not just the same old, beat all the gym leaders, become champion, and save the world from a nefarious criminal organization.
This game takes Pokemon in a good direction. If they keep expanding in this direction, i think we can see some really good Pokemon games in the future.
I also like how the game puts more emphasis on the pokedex. It's like i'm some Zoologist, studying and documenting these creatures for the first time.
One very minor detail that I like is that the pokemon will make their crys throughout the battle, instead of at the very beginning and when one gets knocked out.
Adds a bit more realism to them.
To someone who doesn't know about pokemon, that sentence would sound awfully sadistic
This game is incredible! I can’t stop playing it and can’t get myself to even pass the first area lol. I would love a mix of this style and still the old school style games coming out every couple of years or so
Bro I’ve almost 100%ed the game
Thank you for being the only outlet that’s not spoiling the game
And actually fucking pronouncing it properly shit was really pissing me off for some reason took 4 videos to get to someone that can pronounce it properly
Thanks for posting a spoiler free mini guide! I really enjoyed roaming around the game and haven't done the main quests yet. Completing the Pokedex has been so fun amd challenging in PLA!

Didnt know bots liked Pokemon too?🤣
Anyway i also think the game is pure fun! I started yesterday and i might have stayed up all night😅
The "can't hold all these materials" demonstration made my day lol.
Great little video! :)
omg, the attention to detail in this game. see the big tree in the front of the entrance when you start the game? few days later, it's gone and replaced by planks of word and there is a bidoof that you caught for the construction team and the children that were resting under there? they moved and is someone nearby, sitting on some wood planks. there are other small details too! please comment if you know some others :))
you can harvest multiple items at once by switching pokemon right after throwing one out, pokemon can also harvest the pick-upable items.
I caught a shiny shinx, I was very excited. First natural shiny I've ever found. Plus you can get a blue ponyta in one of the jobs. I love this game.
Holy crap! I didn't know this. I'll definitely be working towards that.
I was catching some gastlys and when I checked my inventory of pokes I realized one was shiny. This game seems to be easier to get shinies. I am loving playing it
Odds are the same
@@youtubecontent6394 True but you'll have a much higher chance of finding shinies since they're visible in the overworld

I have played for 5 hours so far. I have been playing since the very start of gen 3 and damn I am blown away!! This game is the change that Pokémon needed!
"You can't farm those while riding"
You just hit Start->Theow your ball at the node/tree, then immediately hop back on your mount. It still gets it for you as you continue riding
I think he meant it would just be easier if you could throw the ball while continuing to ride instead of having to press a couple extra buttons and stop your movement momentum
But there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to do it while mounted, especially considering you can do it while mounted on basculegion.
@@TheMorbidHobo exactly, this is it
@@TheMorbidHobo artificial game lengthener at play. It's not that big a deal since the switch is instant... and half a second even if you flub on button mashing.
@@KhamTVinc Still an unecessary pain in the ass that simply has no reason to be there.
You can press Y during battle to find out whether using Agile Style will allow you to move twice in a row or not :)
I know it won't happen but I would love for the catching mechanics to be added to the mainline games. Being able to sneak and catch or battle like normal is fun to me
Thanks for the tips. I'm 12 hours in and can't wait to play again. I love how seamless it is.
I have been enjoying it so far. Can’t say I love the lack luster pokemon battles against other trainers, but I love the research notes giving value to repeat catches/uses and I LOVE the Alpha battles. Pokemon totem fights whenever you want 😂
I greatly appreciate the tips about the HUD toggling and first person view
So as a GameStop employee I had to push this game but as a Pokemon fan, I was glad too. I was honestly shocked at how everyone thought it was going to be bad and didn't want to pre order because they knew it was going to be bad. Then the early copies hit... I always knew this game was going to be amazing so I'm very happy to have been one of the select few to support it, who hopped on the hype train since it was first revealed. Let's Goooooo!
Ps
Shout out zion I been watching since you first got put on and bro you been evolving too that Pokemon/friend joke was on point I was dead 💀
Well people thought it was going to be bad and they were right lol. I've never seen a graphics this bad, the story is quite boring too
@@denrise3113 Then go play the pixel dirt of the previous games and have fun doing so. U clearly dont wanna tell me all the other pokemon games looked awesome compared to this? No, they are simply a joke from the past. Finally, Arceus paves the way to real immersion.
People had all right to think it would be bad because Game Freak hasn't put enough effort into the series after Gen 5
@@der_heftige_Harald Are you serious? This game it's really, really, really bad. If you played any other open world or even a game with a decent graphics you can see the difference. This is an improvement for Game Freak, the problem is GameFreak is still 10 years behind everyone, while other software house create complex and beautiful world with a good graphics, Game Freak creates a PS2 world
@@denrise3113 wahhh wahhh! Meh graphics 👺
That very last sentence hit me HARD- Zion said my exact thoughts since I played my very first Pokémon game as a child. It’s close to what I dreamed of, ngl
I recommend marking your map when you spot something new or rare, and if you got a mad Pokémon throw the spoil apricorns at them till it guards drop
Biggest tip for starters I wish I knew is that store ALL your materials in the base camp box!
The craft station in the base camp uses acces to that box and so you dont have to carry anything other then items to catch pokemon
I actually didn't know that. You may want to craft Poké Balls or other items like medicines while you're in the field if you don't want to fast travel back to camp then go manually to where you were before. But the ride Pokemon would make that much easier for sure.
another tip is you can use exp items to revive fallen pokemon by levelling them up
it's been like that since red/blue but thanks
@@YustinJ420 The thing is we didnt get as many xp boosts as we do in this game and its viable to use a small xp boost over a revive sometimes.
"It'll be fine, they said
Who needs time?"
This moment made me laugh so hard i fell out off my chair🤣
I've been loving this game for the last couple of days!
I didn’t complete the research for driftloon and I found a shiny in my first major “I want to go through and clear out some tasks” attempt
I booted the game the other day for the first time and I’m really loving what I’m playing so far. It’s familiar but different which is what we want in the series.
I also caught a shiny Zubat too!
Thank you so much for making these tips spoiler free!
Nice video and thanks. I am looking forward to starting this game after I finish some backlog I am into. I got a hard copy day one lol.
I'm 13 hours in, checking out this video now to make sure I'm not missing anything too important as the game gets more challenging. Thanks for the no spoilers!
Speaking on the whole being prepared for shinies thing, I found a shiny lickilicky on day 1.
Perfect timing, I just got home from buying the game.
I forget people still buy hard copies lol
@@devonscope6222 I only buy digital ones if it is on sale. 😂
Thanks, Zion. I'm only a few hours in and this has helped me a lot.
First Pokémon game I’ve ever played. Loving it.
people will always find the bad in a game, personally i think this game is extremely enjoyable and a huge nostalgia trip.
yes personally I don't like how difficult to navigate some menu's are. For example the clothes in the shop. There are like 4 items of clothing for every body part and everything has like 20 color variations and you have to scroll through every item to see what's new because the menu doesn't show you what's new. Also this game encourages you to catch and free lots of pokemon but the lack of auto sorting in the farm makes it incredibly tedious to free the pokemon you don't need
Those time space domes are well worth your time. I have found linking cords and other rare items and pokemon in there
I remember avoiding them for most of my playthrough because they made my joycons vibrate like crazy but they're good for making easy cash
Something I accidentally discovered was that you can "instantaneously" change Pokémon without going into the menu.
During battle you can see icons of your Pokémon right? Choose whichever Pokémon you want and press ZR (the button you use to throw Pokeballs) to instantaneously change to your desired Pokémon.
I had no idea you could upgrade your satchel. You are my hero.
Damn I had no idea the shiny rate was so low. That’s insane because I got shiny Shinx and shiny psyduck before the first noble when I was 2*. I guess I was insanely lucky
Love pokemon legends. I hope the future of pokemon is open word. I love it!!!!
Love the Game! It just makes me Happy to See that Pokemon is finally evolving.. im a Pokemon fan my whole Life.. and i am so Happy!
I’m loving the game! Thanks for the tips!!!
Mass outbreak hunting is the fastest shiny hunting in Pokemon! I already have over a dozen shinies.
I'm 17hrs in and had only one outbreak. And shinyless one to that.
@@mimikyulostatail4705 Outbreaks spawn almost every time you enter the village
I’m obsessed with this game. I couldn’t find myself to enjoy any Pokémon games I’ve owned but this one is so much fun
I was battling an alpha parasect and a parras came and started fighting me also. Didn't realize at the last second that I defeated it was a shiny 😫
Did it sparkle or not? Because apparently they swapped the shiny and non-shiny palettes for paras
@@sirenstrike4163 I'm not sure it spawned under the parasect and I was just trying to get rid of it. I only saw the shiny icon next to parras name after I the attack animation
@@TenaciousJoe24 okay so then it was shiny, rip.
I’ve been loving this game! But so far inventory is my biggest frustration. I’m constantly out of space. Given you can fast travel to camp and store and take items, it’s seems like it wouldn’t have hurt to just make space unlimited. Or to split throw items and crafting items or something.
Idk how far you've gotten but you can eventually upgrade inventory space with money but after a while it starts to get expensive
@@hunterb108 So far I have spent all my money on inventory expansion slots and it has been 100% worth it. I craft everything else.
@@DarkEnigma91 can't recommend this enough. Spend every hard earned dollar in inventory space! (And keep like 10.000. for urgent expenses)
Buy inventory space. The fact that you can craft from storage is a godsend so your satchel should only have stuff that you can actually use
@@hunterb108 Oh I've invested most of my money already. I still think it's a problem.
i like how we keep the pokémon in a little pasture instead of tucked away in a PC. it feels like we are freeing them not capturing ❤️
i really like your back drop Zion. looks cleann
I use the ZL button or focus to check out an alpha Pokémon to see if I stand a chance. You need to be close to do it, but it saves the surprise on being potentially over matched.
You should use the ZL button on every pokemon. It's basically auto-aim. And it enables a dex shortcut to the pokemon you're targeting
The toggling off HUD and do first person view helps a lot for taking screenshot of my precious Gardevoir sitting or laughing
Stumped on how to evolve one of the new mons but don't want to look it up? The research tasks sometimes provide valuable clues
Therapist: Long Hair Zion isn't real. He can't hurt you."
Long Hair Zion: "...?!"
You can also sprint by pressing down the left stick
This game is just a breath of fresh air and a lot of fun. I'm only into the second region now but the only thing it's missing to me is more trainer battles. . . but I narratively see why there aren't more. Running around for an hour to catch like 30 pokemon, complete research tasks, and farm apricots and tumblestones is just fun. Running around and killing alpha pokemon or catching them is just FUN!
Anyone else notice you can R or L to swap to another Pokémon while you are harvesting a resource? You can have multiple Pokémon out harvesting for those situations when you have 2+ resources around.
hard not to notice
omg thank you so much :D this helped alot
I love taking out all my Pokemon and just hanging out with them.
My first Pokémon game was the red then the yellow. This is what I always wanted in a Pokémon game. So fun!
im so bad at remembering names, but whoever this person, I like them. good voice, solid personality, I hope we get more videos from this person.
I Congratulate this Guy!!! Hes one of the few out there, that know how to correctly pronounce Arceus. Finally!!!
I well come back to this video when the game well be in my collection
I found a shiny shinx in the first like 2 hours of me playing the story lol. Thats +1 shiny in my team.
Excellent starter tips
Enjoying this game so much 🥰🥰🥰. Is easy to get lost in the world exploring. I love it.
Im 16, I’ve played Pokémon for about 10 years and this is what I wanted when I was younger!! I feel like my childhood desire has been fulfilled. I know this game is controversial but in my eyes it’s an absolute success and I can’t wait to see how the series will go from now. Don’t get me wrong though, I still love the traditional games 😊
Don’t forget when you see the parenthesis around the Pokémon that ZL will help you lock on to the Pokémon!
While in town you can throw out all six of you pokemon and they will all interact with each other. It's pretty cool to see
Here's a tip for sneaking up on Pokémon.
Crouching and holding ZR to ready anything to throw will make you much harder to detect, it seems they will only be alerted if you get sighted or maybe miss your aim.
This is important to using Heavy Balls as you need to get pretty close to use them, couple with Back Strikes.
You can also throw items like spoiled apricorns and mud balls into the distance to create a distraction to set up a Back Strike, but not all Pokémon will notice this.
Some I didn't know and a few I found out. So far I found 2 stones (Fire and thunder) and I was shocked when I saw the sparkles and was thinking "Oh. Some ore in this part of the map?" and was shocked to find a Pokemon.
One tip you didn't add (that I think is cool and nice to know): Every time you harvest Acorns and Ore the pokemon you used gets 15 exp (good to lvl them up AND get stuff you need to make items). Also Pokemon can pick up items (like herbs, iron chunks, ETC) by sending them out near the item. They don't get exp BUT they will get the item for you.
You only get xp for harvesting items the player cannot harvest (hard to reach pieces of ore and plants excluded)
“Spherical tiny home” already kicks this video off with a perfect start. Zion you’re the best
6:45 omg picked it back up after a couple years and the first Pokémon that appears was a shiny zubat and I was super rusty and nervous because throwing the balls wouldn’t work for some reason but then I was able to put it to sleep and use an ultra ball the old fashioned way thank god
I think the Best thing about this game is it captures the creators dream of Pokémon like the actual dream of what he described his lifestyle as a kid which was how he got the idea
If they add these feature to 9th gen, I’m all in. It’ll be cool if gym leaders had side quests for you too.
I think this tip is pretty obvious for experienced players, but if you see a tree or rock that is shaking about- make sure you are prepared for a battle before throwing your pokemon out to collect the resources. Didn't notice this for a while until I got rocked by a Graveler. lol
A bit extra pokemon gain 15 exp when farming an item so it can help level wearker team members...
Second there's a side quest that auto nets you a shiny ponyta in game
The sparkling one can give other stuff as well.
When i found out you can let out your whole team out of its pokeballs, i got so excited.
getting it tonight, thank you :)
Question, do you still need to evolve pokemon that needs to be traded like Haunter -> Gengar?
A purple wurmple was actually my first shiny I came across and caught in this game
Can you imagine one of the next version being an "adult" pokemon game, with adult main character, super realistic graphics, real nasty pokemons that are so aggressive you also need to know martial arts to attack & defend as well.... One can dream 😛
I got a shinx shiney my first day playing, I hung a right at the three starleys and fought/caught and battled my way back around to the beautifly spawn: just done a few laps character is 2 stars
A useful tip that nobody talks about is that if you're being targeted by multiple Pokémon, but don't want to initiate a multi-battle, you can force a single-battle against the Pokémon of your choice by landing a backstrike on them (you'll have to dodge them or stun them first since they're trying to attack you). This is useful if you only want to catch/battle one Pokémon at a time in a group, for example, during "distortion" events and the Sea Legend event.
How do you do a backstrike on a pokemon you are fighting?
@@evangeigersports You wait for them to attack/lunge, dodge, then backstrike. Or you can stun them first with a ball of mud, snowball, etc.
You missed one thing. The shiny stones also have a chance to give you evolution stones
Side quest management and general objective management in the game is pretty poor. I wish you could see quests you don't have tracked if you just happen to be in the area to either: a) do a task for the quest; or, b) simply return a quest you have completed. Instead, you have to select the quest despite it being done or not to then see any tracking information. And then pulling up the quests themselves are a bit of a chore, involving going to your map, hitting Y, then hitting RB to go to side quests, then searching to find a particular one.
Gotta Catch ‘em All
Imagine in a future update pokemon actually allows us to take pictures with our pkmn. Not like in pkmn snap but I guess kinda similar to kh 3?
Pokemon only truly despawn if you either return to the village, scare them away, or if they disappear with the changing of hours eg ghost Pokemon disappearing at sunrise.
One tip is not sell your stardust. There is a recipe later on to make use of that. I wish I knew that.
Also, do not ever use autosave. In a game like this where you might be resetting so often, autosave could mess that up really badly.
Ty
One tip I learned after many wasted minutes scrolling up to the purchase amount I want. Up down moves the counter by 1, but left right moves it by 10. This works anytime you are purchasing items, or moving items to storage if not using the bulk X to transfer all.
had no idea abt the hud toggle, thx
I'm really liking Legends, but I absolutely hate that I can't map buttons, and that running is L and crouching is B. I wish I could switch those, just to help with muscle memory from BotW.
Its an insanely common mechanic to have run on L.
@@jdrahonovsky sure. I wish I could map it not to.
There is a mod for exactly that.
Yeah clicking the L button all the time is kinda annoying but you don't need to run a lot in this game especially once you got every ride pokemon. And crouching with B is something you get used to pretty quick
