Not really an Easter egg because it's stated outright, but the ending confirms that the Arceus we catch and carry around is not actually Arceus's true self but a proxy/ avatar of Arceus that allows the player to use a portion of its power. Apparently in Japanese, Kamado's accent that breaks through at the end is Kansai dialect, which could suggest that he's actually from Johto, which is the pokemon world equivalent of the Kansai region. I've seen some people say specifically that he could be from Mahogany town, since Mahogany is called a ninja retreat, which would explain Beni, and it's near the Lake of Rage, which could have been where the pokemon that destroyed his home came from.

It would honestly also make sense in his clothing. If he were from Galar he would probably wear clothes more akin to Laventon and not something that is clearly more traditional. 69. Snow goggles aren't to keep snow out of your eyes, though they can help with that too. The narrow slits prevent snow blindness, where sunlight reflecting off snow makes it hard to see.
If you pay attention to what the NPC is saying, you can clearly tell that the DIVING goggles of Palina wouldn't do anything to prevent this. Also, Palina's goggles are to help her swim from island to island because she's ostensibly not allowed to use Basculegion.

From the Sinnoh games, we know Cynthia's family lived in this very town for ages and they were passing down the Sinnoh myths, and we even meet Cynthia's Grandmother in the game for this. All of this totally matches up with how and what Cogita is in this game. The hero that falls into a new world with (maybe) memory loss, the way the story is structured, the familiar plot elements that gave me MAJOR deja-vu feelings especially towards the end of the game. And also concerning Gardevoir, who has a big role in the first MD game, whereit literally sacrificed itself to protect its trainer from Ninetale's curse. That was a fascinating story in itself.

It's by far the weakest connection here as this connection would therefore connect Volo and Cyrus when other than that they have no connection. Honestly I feel it is clearly implied that the commander's partner is dead and got killed by rampaging pokemon in the past.
I believe that the commander and his "problemsolver", that was the best plot twist in my opinion, are the last of an ancient tribe that lived in the Hisui-Region even before the ancestors of the two clans arrived. The region was clearly settled long before as the ruins suggest. When you interact with the statues in the highlands there is the question "but who built them?", I believe this also fits the character of the commander and gives a good and compelling motivation for his actions when he clads himself in steel and literaly walks to war to kill whatever pokemon is at the tempel causing the rift.
It is clearly stated, that the commander and the mochi maker are the last of there people that got destroyed by pokemon. This is the reason why the commander wants to build a new and save place for the people. Also the place of their origin has the same name as one of the ruins in the highlands map. This would also explain why the armour he wears seams to be a combination of japanese and european design inspiration. Compared to the other leaders of the Expedition he is also the only one with a clear japanese inspired background and name. The professor is strait up a person of galarian (english) background as he is speaking english in the japanese and german game versions.
I started today with my japanese playthrough of the game after I finished in german and I have to say some parts in the english translation are very different then the original japanese and also the german translation which I think are interesting. In the original and the german translation the "Nobles" are called Kings and Queens specificly.

The whole architecture and even the clothing resembles, what you can find about Japan around 1850 to 1900. It'd make sense, that there are other Pokédexes as well, ride pokémon are already used in Alola. Spiritombs "hundreds of years" would make sense as well, if its just 150-200 years back from today.
The story framework is a colonization effort and learning about "zoology". There are no "farm animal" pokémon around like miltank, tauros or mareep, who should already be domesticated on the main land. Also we get a Petitlil to craft a known remedy for the psyduck.

Given the level of technology and the slowly improving relations of the Diamond and Pearl Clans, and the Galaxy Team, I feel confident that the game takes place in the early to mid 1800s. Allow me to explain:
Photography as we know it today got its start in 1839, and barring Professor Laventon's steampunk Kodak, the photographic technology lines up well. The Galaxy Team also appears to use electric lighting, albeit an early iteration of it. I also believe that gunpowder had been invented, due to the firework shot that fires out of Pokeballs to signify a Pokemon having been caught. Maybe guns just don't work well on Pokemon. Finally, we have the aftermath of the events of the game. Since the Temple of Sinnoh was destroyed, and we as the player discovered that no entity known as Sinnoh exists (instead being Arceus, then Dialga and Palkia), the Diamond and Pearl Clans, with the Galaxy Team, decided to rename the Hisui Region as the Sinnoh Region, and to rename the ruins of Sinnoh's temple to Spear Pillar after the events of the game. This would reflect Hokkaido's renaming, which happened in 1869.

Also just generally the outfits that Laventon and Cogita wear are victorian era esque. Which was in the 1800's.

The fashion of the region and the founding of Sapporo are all 1870s onwards too.

One popular theory I heard is that given Adamans impatiance and eye shape Its possible he is an ancestor to Barry the connection is actually stronger if you mix and match aspects from Idra and Adaman implying that either they or their descendants might get together at some point

I feel like some of the ancestor connectons you mention are real stretches. While there are certainly ones I thought of that you didn't agree with, not every character has to have a connection to a modern day counterpart. It's probably better that way, even. I don't think Mellie, Calaba or Adaman, for example, are really related to anyone we know.

I think that there’s a lot of characters without descendants and that people just took the “oh these people are obviously descended from ___• as a “oh everybody is an ancestor”

In jubilife village farm there's a guy named "Leif" he's from the kanto region. He mentioned something about the people over there catches and train pokemons. I think it's a nice nod to the original red and blue versions.

This game really changed everything we know about the Pokémon universe... I'm fascinated to see what else they do with this series.

I have my own theories for this game and the whole pokemon universe. I enjoyed this video and watched it to the end. Nice list. I know they game will eventually make other legends games and/or DLC.

5:24 I bet it's a reference to poor Professor Oak having to take care of Ash's entire bench of Pokémon

33:00 Copperajah sword Pokédex entry: “They came over from another region long ago and worked together with humans. Their green skin is resistant to water.” That means that the professor isn’t from galar but rather this region we have yet to explore in the games.
