OLD - Mirage F1CE Update (June 2023) Basic Flight Dynamics Analysis

Aerges Mirage F1CE recently had an update and I took a look at the basic flight dynamics, mainly rate turns and landings. This is solely from a flight characteristics perspective.

You ran the test without flaps, but the slats were still working, as indicated by the yellow light. Try running the test again with slats disabled (HYPER switch). I knew that slats were screwing up my results, when I was investigating best range/endurance for various planes and I had to disable them always as a result.

Thanks for the analysis .. on my case I'd rather have a more accurate landing than a more accurate high AOA turn performance with combat flaps, but I would expèct that Aerges is still tuning this aspect. Kudos for a video with actual content, instead of all those low-effort videos that one can find on YT about DCS ... cheers!

Thanks. That bump is a DCS shortcoming (in some cases), something Devs have to work around, happens when the lift is accurate at lower speeds. Its annoying as heck when developing, but has a fix, probably more than one, lets hope Aerges implements a fix, and not a median (a bit of sacrifice on landing a bit of sacrifice on turning).

What is your affiliation with Red Star? Are you part of the team, or an advisor for FM? Something else?

Together with another pilot I'm the creator and owner of Red Star. Aside from obvious management stuff, we're also advisors, flight dynamic SMEs, researchers, testers, FM translators, and anything else related to the flight dynamics. We do look at it from a "pilot first" perspective.

@@FSX404that’s awesome! Congratulations on that. I really look forward to the challenge of the MiG-17. I know that it’s called “Red Star Simulations”, but are you open to non-Soviet aircraft in the future?
Hate to be that guy but a Hawker Hunter would be *awesome* . Fairly similar time and design as the MiG-17 too. 😉
Jokes aside, that’s really cool and I look forward to everything you guys end up developing. The 17’s FM seems seriously awesome.

I know that what I am going to ask has nothing to do with this video, but could you make a video analyzing the flight model of the A2A Comanche 250. I don't use msfs since I don't like their physics, but according to A2A in this addon they use an external flight model ultra realistic that does not depend on msfs. I am very interested in knowing your opinion.
