On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Ігри

Thanks for watching guys if you have ideas for another video let me know if the comment section below. Much Love.
I’m first finally
F-22 VS Ten North Korean MIG-29's BVR
F-35 VS MIG-31 BVR revenge against R-37!👍
F-35C Vs F/A-18 Super Hornet
JF-17 v F-14 in BVR. Let's see those 50 mile SD-10s
Okay, but now I want @Growling Sidewinder to switch aircraft, as said in Top Gun: Maverick, “it’s not the aircraft, it’s the pilot”, or something to that affect lol.
GS first losing the 1-circle: "Ah! Call an ambulance!"
GS immediately winning the overshoot: "But not for me!"
Lold
ACCURATE
Yes
Whoever flew the F-14 should take a look at the old Top gun instruction vids. He does everything the instructors would tell him not to do.
@@davidsmith8997 yuup
True, the Tomcat pilot does not really use the advantages the F-14 has over the Mirage F-1 in a dogfight, or any other jet in fact. I think this guy would lose his F-14 even if GS would fly the Yak-52 :P
I think he/she hates F-14 too much and just tried to humiliate it against F-1
Where can i find it?
This guy dont have any clue what he is doing on that 14 hahahahaha.
I am literally screaming at my computer screen for the F-14 pilot to go vertical lol.
I totally didn't expect this outocome! Well played GS, but I feel the F-14 pilot didn't get the fight right.
02:16
I was able to turn off the warning sounds with the switch labeled "Warning Horn Switch", it is on the lower right hand side panel along with the RWR switch (row of switches above the 6 white square buttons on the right).
This really wasn't an F1 vs F-14 fight, the pilot skill difference was way too big for this to be meaningful.
F14 flys alot like me when I stoll didn't have any head track method.
Hard to keep tabs on enemy's flight.
I feel the same way. GS is an elite pilot.
At low altitude the F1 has a higher G-limit and an excellent aerodynamic coefficient. At high altitude the F-14 has wing aera and on request it may have either wingspan and better instant turn ( variable geometry ) or swept back wing and higher acceleration or sustained turn. The F1 is a formidable aggressor and it is still used in that role. If the F-5E is in position to score victories against the F-14 the F1 can do it better.
It's not the plane, it's the pilot.
No, no. Now you do it again and you fly the Tomcat, this time!
Yes! Totally agree!
Fight and kill back the Mirage Fighter plane
You know, I'd really love to see some 2 v 2 dogfights at some point ;-)
same
Agreed
That sounds awesome. Fights with a simulated hard deck sounds like another cool idea. simulating the way actual bfm/acm is taught
agree
Why do I get the impression that if you were in the F-14 the Mirage wouldn't stand a chance?
I feel like everytime GS wants to 2 circle, he can always force it. I don't understand how he manages to lure people into the 1 circle.
Because it’s true
After the first fight, I expected the f-14 to immediately bail into the 2 circle fight after the overshoot. With an energy advantage, he'd be in the control zone in 700°. But it never happened.
As crazy as it sounds, the Mirage F1, unlike the Mirage 3 was actually superbly manoeuvrable at speeds between 300 kph IAS and 800 IAS, it had superstrong flaps and slats which made it super stable and gave it a lot of lift. Greeks put their F1's against their F16 and the F1 could give F16 some headaches. Mirage F1 was a very nice aircraft for its time
Idk about that one ngl, high mounted anhedral swept wings dont seem to inspire crazy maneuverability to me. Very similarly to the harrier actually, and the harrier isnt very renounded for its maneuverability either
@@lucasgomez3283 So the thing about anhedral wings is that they improve the aircraft’s ability to roll, which is why you see them on planes that otherwise wouldn’t like to roll like the Harrier and the C-17, and a lot of big Russian planes. Definitely a plus for maneuverability in a fighter. On the flip side, dihedral wings are seen on a lot of civil aviation aircraft like the Cessna and Boeing 777, because it makes them less inclined to roll all about the place, one of the reasons why the former is used as a trainer. It also helps soak up some of that turbulence. If you want more than that, check out the online version of FAA-H-8083 chapter 5.
The tomcat pilot doesn't learn from his mistakes. 1st round: 1-circle, overshoots, dead. 2nd round: 1-circle, overshoots, dead. 3rd round: 1-circle, overshoots, dead. Here's some common sense: If your plane is far superior in a certain aspect of the dogfight; use that to your advantage. Do not keep trying to force something you've lost to 2 attempts prior to the 3rd. He should've been constantly applying pressure on GS, and forcing him into the 2-circle rate fight. The tomcat will out-rate 90% of the aircraft in DCS, so use that advantage.
True, no matter what plane you're in or how good you are, you will always do better if you avoid the nose of your adversary.
The other pilot wasn't fighting the Tomcat very well. Probably a first tour nugget LTjg 🙂
Can we get a "pilot unknown" series? Where different opponents take you on in their prefered jet, and you have to adapt to their strengths.
I second.
I third.
"for the sake of making it a little longer for people who want that"
*everyone raises hand*
With that F-14 pilot you couldve gotten the same 3-0 flying the MiG-21 honestly, the enemy pilot did not fly it right at all
MiG-21, hell. The MiG-15 could beat that pilot.
bro straight up just reversed right into the nose
thats gotta be the worst tomcat pilot who's been on this channel so far
@@candle_eatist multiple times too
Does your Tomcat pilot know this is a dogfight, not him being a moving target for you?
I dunno but I felt this enemies' playstyle with the f14 was just...weird. He didn't capitalize on a lot of the f14s strengths. Thrust-to-weight and the rate fight.
Almost looked like he was flying as one would in Ace Combat
@@RaderizDorret exactly. No real strategy just: "GODDAMNIT HIT IT WITH THE MISSILES WHY WONT THIS THING PSM THATS WHAT V2 IS FOR!!!"
Excellent defensive flying! You reminded of the old Chuck Yeager quote: “It’s the man, not the machine”
He got that quote, from the "Red Baron"
When Jester takes pilot seat, everything is possible.
I'm beyond addicted at these videos now..its been a great few years GS! Always bringing us awesome new fights and flights! Another great one as always!
F-35 vs MiG-31s at BVR when?😬
F-14 pilot just wanted to die...sheesh.
F14A pilot , more training please !!!(🙈)
I love how nervous sounding he is at the beginning- keep up the amazing content!!!
Well that was unexpected. Good call for not crediting/blaming the Tomcat driver.
Another great video GS! Would love to see if a competent pilot was in the f14. That being said you were fighting an up hill battle with 1 arm behind your back and won so props! That Tomcat pilot must now do the walk of shame.
Thanks for the awesome video, and the training in terms of making maximum use of the F-1 in A2A. Much obliged !
Love the vids. Been missing your historical videos as well. If you feel like you're going to go on a tear with a new aircraft, a short essay sprinkled with GS spice would be cool.
It's all up to the man in the box! Nice piloting man!
The better pilot wins. Bravo
2:14 - GS took away all the beeping. HOORAY!! :^D
Flaps really helped :) Great work GS
Way back in 1980, when I was in the SA Air Force, I asked a Mirage pilot what would happen against a Tomcat and he just said he'd lose every time.
Another great vid showing the advantages of the F1 (more like disadvantages now though)
i absolutely love the AoA indicator directly next to the HUD
Masterful control, as always 🤘
"...It's as simple as that..."
Especially against someone who didn't learn the first time....Or the second.
That was a slaughter. LOL
Thank you for getting rid of the beeping now I enjoy watching you fly this
Awesome content as always
that was some serious pilot sh*t... I would have bet on the F14 every time.
"Hit the breaks and he'll fly right by".... Shows why Topgun was necessary - even in a universally superior machine without using it correctly you can still easily be defeated (lots of experience of this in DCS :-)!)
I bet if you guys swapped you would smoke him 3x
I always thought the F1 Mirage just looked super cool. A Jets jet.
You’re the master - comparing your videos today to 3 years ago, gives me hope that if I continue and read, watch, fly, and learn, I can aspire to your skill level
you can be much much better don't worry brother.
Just left a comment on another video about you and came to check you out and bam you posted lol
Fantastic job 🍻
We need more cold war era planes in dcs
The first round was epic the way the fight got turned over lol
Since I have found your channel, I have been binge watching your videos for the past week. Last night I had a dream I was in an F15 shooting missles then diving. All I heard was over g...over g...over g...
I love your videos! Love your knowledge and explanations. Keep up the good work. I would like to see your set up (computer and controllers).
Growling really said “hit the breaks on em”
Really enjoying the Mirage F-1. Would love it if they created a module with the modernized Moroccan Mirage F1 MF2000 ASTRAC. Pretty awesome that they’re still flying.
"I'm gonna hit the brakes and he's gonna fly right by !!"
"I'm going to hit the brakes and he'll fly right by"
Who was flying that tomcat ? A baboon ! Even jamshid can kill the f1 in the tomcat
Imagine being in the F-14, locking you up and firing from 70 miles away.
finally some scissor and 1 circle action... the poor fellow in f14 keep overshooting
Dude in the F-14 needs to review BFM and get more experience in the F-14
Would love to see the Mirage F1 vs AV-8B
It was noticable that the Tomcat pilot was not maneuvering in relation to what you were doing, but blindly going about "his" business expecting that to be enough.
It wasn't enough.
I feel like this deserves a rematch
DISCLAIMER: Results not typical. Your experience my vary.
your flying is quite impressive lol
South Africa's DENEL DYNAMICS, had an upgrade program for their Mirage's, the "super mirage", equipped with a Russian engine variant of the mig29's RD93!
F1's performance skyrocketed after that, but it stayed just to one and only prototype!
Thought the F1 was going subterranean in that last round. Good kill(s).
All the time I'm screaming "Hit the brakes! He'll fly right by you?!" 😁
Well we know that there are a bunch of these F1s which received some electronic face-lift and now are flying DACT OPFOR in the TOP GUN these days... there must be a good reason for them to be used up there... just like we saw it here...
Let’s gooooo!!!!!! Kind of want to see the mirage do well here. We’ll see lol
Really interested in seeing the F117A in action, and making sense of why such a highly touted technology became obsolete after a short service history.
My perception is the F1 is a capable dogfighter, it just lacks some of the automation that makes lining up a gun shot easier. Though in a more modern scenario it's not likely to survive past BVR into BFM.
That evil laugh though.
F1 vs F5 needs to be the next video!
Now the F1 vs F16 !
Only you could figure out how to fight a F-14 with a Mirage. Dunno if the other pilot was doing everything right but kudos to you for figuring out the Mirage.
Don't mess with french jet ... 😎👍
They other day I picked the F22 and my opponent was GS in a mirage. I forfeited.
Was testing a mission I am building. Engaged the F1 with a F16. Amraamed the first one. Merged with second, kept looking around for him. I would look down and kept thinking it was the chute of the other one since it didn't seem to move. Then realized it was the other F1. I was able to drop down and just get behind him and stay there. Then proceeded to make many punctures in his plane.
Now that the F1 is in the roster you should round up the A4, F5, & the L39 and do like a "Draken"/private military contractor strike on a fictitious satellite state. Let's go!
That plane just seems to like to stand in one spot and just stay there….. ya the nose may not come up right away like you said but it seems that planes strength lays with the capabilities to bait people.
"It's the pilot, not the machine." ;)
Request 8 of 13: GS in the F/A-18C vs a buddy in the Mustang or Spitfire!
The F1 is surprisingly nimble for not being a delta wing. I look forward to the F1CM.
"I'm gonna hit the brakes, he'll fly right by" "You're gonna do WHAT?!?!?!?!?"
Vs Viggen next time. Missing the Sven guy.
We need more f14 content
Soon you'll have to change your callsign to The Surgeon. Bogeyetctomy complete!
You should do the US vs Russia thing again but with the rule that you can't choose the same jet twice so it's more interesting.
Do like 5 or 6 rounds so you can have different engagements.
Play to your strengths over confidence is a weakness
Growling Sidewinder V Actual Iranian pilot. Times are tough in Iran
You just straight up outflew him
Target fixation will be your nemesis. Extension is your best friend.
Assuming u don’t catch a fox2 in the ass
I'm liking a lot of these comparison's, I was wondering what might happen if you put a Tornado F3 vs an F14? I know they're very different aircraft, but I'd be curious to see how they compare?
Amazing
All fights are against pilots and not planes. Anyone in any aircraft can make mistakes or fly poorly. Being better is what wins.
Would like to see a F1 vs Viggen video for an even contest.
Can we get F1 vs A10 Warthog? That would certainly be interesting
It's not the plane. It's the pilot. =)
Lead that Aim-9 a little more next time.
-The Monday Morning Quarterback
Lololol. "Oh yeah. Come on. Oh yeah. OOOOH!"
