It had a mid cam from trd, 44ph mikunis, headers but forgot the brand. e fan, trd clutch, lockrite locker, had the pully shaved and balanced with no a.c. short shfiter and flytrap. I was really learning at the time and found out my mikuni intake manifold where small and the carbs where right at the head. I didnt have a aftermarket fpr and seems like that set up was for off road driving and lost alot in the 1/4 mile. It took alot of gas and was loud from intake and exahust just to beat oem hondas at the time. I learned about heavy rims too, it had MOMO Mirages from an MKIII Supra. Anyways, when I put the stock carbs and intake back on it was alot quicker especially high end. I ended up selling the truck bone stock with just the bolt ons in 2001. I’m running a electric fuel pump on mine but having issues with the dead head fuel pressure regulator what fuel pressure regulator are you running and at psi
We use a Mallory 4309 fuel pressure regulator, simple low pressure regulator that returns fuel to the tank to keep pressure more accurate. We only run about 3 psi fuel pressure

524.000km all original best engine ever!
My other Hilux is diesel 1KZ-te
@@psiracing alright thanks for the help ill look into it i hadnt even considered a turbo but that sounds like a cool idea
I have an '83 long bed that I will be digging into this year. You have given me some ideas and I may be reaching out to get more info as I get further into mine. Side note - I thought '82 still had the round headlights, but I see this one has squares. Were they swapped, or am I mistaken? Love the headers BTW.
Hey man, regarding the headlights I know the truck is all original. May be a late 8or early 83 if so. Any help you need you can reach out and we'll do.what we can to answer any questions or get ya hard to gind parts
Any plans on hitting the Dyno ?
We may, customer is just having a blast driving it
what kind of suspension does it have? smoother ride than stock?
It Actually drives very well, the customer did all the suspension work before he dropped it off. It wasnt anything crazy though
@@psiracing damn any chance i can find out what he did? i can see he took out a leaf from the rear because i only see 2. just trying to keep my ride simple but also improve the ride quality and drop it just a tad. thanks. lots of good work there
@@JasonSmith-fu6oi I know in the front he bought a aftermarket torsion tube that was red in color. Also new shocks and Im not sure if he changed out the leaf springs in the rear
So I just bought a 83 22r Toyota pickup and I need help with the vacuum lines. How much do you think it will cost to take it somewhere so they can make sure they’re connected correctly?
Just plan on swapping them. Easier to replace them all then hunt through for a fix. Them old vaccun harnesses can be replicated cheaply, probably 100$ to have a shop do it where i live.
Good call!!
Really beautiful work
Thank you!!
Is the AC sistem R134 and how did you converted it? I got a new AC compressor but it came without the AC manifold that goes in top of it and I can't find it anywhere?
That's a good question if it is R134, I'd have to ask the owner
What kind of radiator your using. Can you provide that info. Thanks
Its actually a factory radiator just rebuilt
how is the valvetrain holding up with that lift ? oiling mods? I had cam
ocker fails 450 lift
So far so good, I make sure he stays on top of oil changes and we run good oil
That’s crazy, I never seen a 11 to 1 setup using pump gas. A lot of people claim that there will be pinging issues with that type of compression ratio.
He's locked the timing so it won't but idk if that's the best way to make power at both ends
I just bought a lifted 1994 toyota pickup fully LCE built motor, cam headers etc you name it, has about 20k miles on motor as of right now, its lifted about 6” with 31’s and for some reason going uphill it has a very hard time.😭
Damnn, sounds like you may need to re gear it for uphill!
@@psiracing what gearing do you think i need? It’s going to be my daily driver, & weekend offroader.
@@mauiboy96768 4.88s will do wonders
@@apple4apple247 planning to install 15x19 on 31" i went with 5.29 gear ratio.
@@mauiboy96768 5.29 is a bit much for 31s, even for 33s, i can see it for 35s though
What fuel pressure regulator are you using
Believe it is a mallory 4309 regulator
22R with Webber side drafts sound cleannnn
New video coming where you can really hear the carbs!
@@psiracing just picked up a used Cannon intake and 2 weber 40s. rebuild kits on the way
What was the tool you used to sync the carbs
It's a sidedraft Synchronization tool. You can fund them online
Or even better do you by chance have the part number of that alternator?
We do not have a part # unfortunately, it is from a late model 82 toyota corolla with a built in regulator
The alternator off of a 95 jag is 1 to 1 with them and you get 120amp instead of 40lol, give me a minute I'll find my receipt and see what jag works.
Only difference is the ground is in a slightly different spot. Connector is one to one.
Got any HP and torque numbers after all that custom stuff?
Wish we did. Owner didn't care to dyno it. Just loves to drive and show it off
And I’m out here just trynna get mine running after a rebuild🤣🤣
hahahahahahahaa
Very nice job! just wondering if this truck is running he L transmission or is it a W or G? I see you respond to most of your comments and was wondering if the L could stand up to this kind of power given its reputation as weak in the 4wd version.
Hey man, it's using the stock W series trans if im not mistaken. Honestly the owner babies the car, he just loves to cruise it.
@@psiracing Thanks for your reply, after further research I found the W series did come in the 82 2wd trucks apperantly the L was the 82's 4wd transmission. Versions of the W came in NA supra's pushing up to 200 hp and only was upgraded to the R series once they surpassed 200hp The W is a very nice smooth shifting trans and I am sure Ken loves cruising this beauty.
@@canuck351 yea we had tons of good luck with the w style transmission. We actually ran one in our full drag car and went as fast as 9:01 at 151mph and it lived.
Saludos desde Colombia, quisiera hacer una pregunta, Dónde está la bomba de hidráulico o que modificación le hicieron a la dirección gracias
Buenas, me dices de el power steering??
Si el está diciendo el power steering
where are valve cover pcv/vent routed to? nothing? what spark plugs and coil? cfm on carb? thanks!
Yes no PCV just a vent with a small filter was installed after that picture. MSD Blaster coil with a msd 6AL Igniter box. Not sure CFM on carbs but there 45 Webers which move a ton of air.
Nice job on the truck it's very clean in and out
Thank you
