After burning a hole in #4 piston for the rebuild went to 81/2 to 1 je pistons used the stock crank and stock rods but they were shotpeened and magnaflux ..basically lc stage 5 head fully built.. custom turbo cam ..arp head studs hks head gasket.. custom equal length tubular manifold with external hks race gate Garrett t68 around 22psi rc 96lbs injectors on pump gas. Sds system for management. Runs 11lb clutch flywheel set up so basically on/off lol Love your truck nice work

The 22R is such a unique power plant. Looking at the tachometer, that thing probably makes 250 of its 350 hp below 3500 rpms. That is insane. Low to mid range torque with heavy bottom end only need to get spinning a little and you get massive torque which lowers the rpm needed to achieve a given hp

My dream truck is a Toyota with tuned Nissan SR-20DET. My 2nd dream truck is a 1996 or older Ford 4x4 with a tuned 12v or 24v Cummins.

Awesome build! My dad has a 91 just sitting around and is too old to drive anymore. We dropped in a new 0 miles motor in like 6yrs ago but no one really drove it afterwards. Gona start making the interior more likeable like new seats, carpet, sound deadening, and power windows bc it was basically a work truck.

The turbo manifold I got with an engine but it was custom made. As for Inter cooler piping I cut a hole on the driver side of the engine bay to run the pipe through and the passenger side I just ran it up between the radiator and engine. I hope this helps and good luck with the build 🤘
@@festivekamikaze True, but the diesels are far more basic to squeeze power from. Its not common to see 2lt builds in the states because they are rare here. Look in forums from Australia. They are abundant. Give it fuel and air. Upgrade your after cooling (intercooling) and do fuel mods. You already have the turbo diesel so you are one step ahead from most others.
@@festivekamikaze I misread your comment and thought 2lt when you posted 2l. I'd suggest exhaust and intake mods. Boost really does magic on small diesels, but NA pretty much limits it to the basics. You should still be able to uncork the restrictions

I have Microtech LT10, the only issue I have is it’s fixed timing. For a daily I recommend a variable timing setup and I heard a lot about the fuel tech ft450. That is the system I want on my truck. I hope this helps!
Stand-alone or piggy back tuner? I’m running splitsecond pro on my 5vze but the factory ignition timing is too unpredictable. Have MS3pro semi wired up but haven’t had the time to fix the idle air control circuit or install a new bung for the wideband. Those are some impressive numbers for a 22re-t. Great work.
I just installed a megasquirt in my 22re using the factory "VAST" 4 tooth trigger wheel. Timing accuracy is crap; it jumps around +/- 3 degrees at steady engine speeds and retards up to 7 degrees when revving. I would not use it on a pump gas turbo motor. I am going to run low boost on E85 until I can upgrade trigger setup. If you go standalone, get a 36-1 crank trigger wheel.

I got a boosted 2rz tacoma 310hp at 14psi on bone stock internals tuned on a link stand alone and yes the tune is what makes it very reliable.mimes is just as reliable as my NA 2rz👍🏾

It was an NA from factory and the turbo got added to it, honestly I couldn’t tell you which way is better because I’ve never messed with a 22ret before. And honestly if you want just a little more power, I would just buy a cheap eBay kit, that’s what was ran on this truck from the very start and it lasted !

It's an SR5 EFI. I looked for one for 6 years til i found it. 165000 original miles. It was originally sold in Inverness Florida- 30 minutes north of me. It's loaded,power everything, cruise, a/c everything still runs like new except the engine is a little tired. Removable top, factory roll cage, all the good stuff. I had it Professionally lifted, Re-arc toyota springs, TRD drop pitman arm and suspension. On paper it's probably not worth a lot, but priceless to me. ( Everything is for sale of course, but the $$ would be pretty high lol) I have spent 4times what it's worth on it, so no turning back now. I've been debating a 2jz transplant. Keeping the original 22re , adding a turbo & intercooler is preffered. But I don't know any shops local that do this sort of thing. Do you? I'm in Brooksville FL.

It's an SR5 EFI. I looked for one for 6 years til i found it. 165000 original miles. It was originally sold in Inverness Florida- 30 minutes north of me. It's loaded,power everything, cruise, a/c everything still runs like new except the engine is a little tired. Removable top, factory roll cage, all the good stuff. I had it Professionally lifted, Re-arc toyota springs, TRD drop pitman arm and suspension.
On paper it's probably not worth a lot, but priceless to me. ( Everything is for sale of course, but the $$ would be pretty high lol) I have spent 4times what it's worth on it, so no turning back now.
I've been debating a 2jz transplant. Keeping the original 22re , adding a turbo & intercooler is preffered. But I don't know any shops local that do this sort of thing. Do you? I'm in Brooksville FL.

Honestly I have not launched it in 4x4 but the torque is ridiculous lol, on the dyno it was 950+ torque on 4L !
