  • DRAG RACING at the 1/4 mile track with our NEW FK8 Hybrid Turbo, the 27WON KURO! We're at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado to test how fast our 10th Gen Honda Accord 2.0 project car is now that we've installed the BIG Turbo, the 27WON Kuro. How much quicker, and faster does this new FK8 hybrid turbo make our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 project car compared to the Phearable Stage 3, Phearable Stage 4, and the KTuner Stage 2 ECU tunes? We're on an eTune from Derek Robinson (DROB) of Innovative Motorworks (IMW) we test our 1/4 mile acceleration times - DRAG RACING agains some nicely modified street cars! In addition to the 27WON Kuro (very similar spec as the MHI Stage 2 turbo) we have our other modifications that include performance mods such as the KTUNER, PRL HVI (air intake), Mishimoto Intercooler, PRL HV Downpipe (PRL Catted Downpipe), PRL FK8 Titanium Air Tnlet, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (summer performance tires) and Eibach lowering springs. The KURO TURBO adds a HUGE increase in horsepower and torque compared to the Honda Accord OEM turbo, coupled with cool temperatures, and sticky summer only high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in a wider 265 footprint, we find out how much faster our 1/4 mile drag times have improved!?! Is the 27WON Kuro Turbo for the 10th Gen Honda Accord (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) the best street hybrid turbo for the Honda Accord?
    Looking for ways to gain horsepower on YOUR 10th Gen (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) Honda Accord 2.0 or 1.5 turbocharged car - this video / channel will give you the information you need to help you make an informed decision regarding the best mods for your 10th Gen. Honda Accord 2.0 or Accord 1.5 project car!

    Hey Chad good video! Just a few tips, the first time i went to the track on street tires as well with the Accord i had the psi at 22! And just recalibrate the tpms so that car doesn't cut power. I have another suggestion: If you are running Ktuner, pull your logs from the worst run. Export to CSV, and look at your TPS as compared to your TPS.CMD and see what the delta is. Of course you will see a delta for a fraction of a second at the launch, but if the computer is otherwise pulling throttle out you should be able to see that during the run. I am seeing an unrequested (by driver) throttle closure of 50%+ for around 0.3 seconds at gear change, plus unrequested throttle closure that I suspect is traction control still 'meddling in the affairs' of my two liter dragon.

Hope you’re able to resolve the warnings, an LSD like people were mentioning for the Odyssey would be super interesting. I’d love to see slicks like you were mentioning too!

You're the most informative 10th gen Accord content creator right now, and with the amount of mods you have it feels like you deserve to be making much better numbers. I didn't know that elevation could effect a car that much until I began watching your videos. I annoys me to think I could drop over $3000 into my Accord and not be getting under 13 seconds.... The waste gate problem could be from a larger turbo and more boost and the actuator can’t handle it. Also for the power you are putting down on the dyno, your times should be much better so I feel there’s something else going on. Maybe boost is being cut or timing pulled?

    Hey chad, I know you said starting in 2nd gear and have VSA off is for the best performance. But from my personal experience I think just simply leaving the car in Drive , keep VSA on and rev to 2000rpm gets better performance only because You don’t spin as much. I feel like starting in 2nd may or may not have more power but you spin a lot more which causes your 60 foot time to be slower and it’s harder for you to hook on. However , I don’t know what it’s like your car because your car is much more power than mine. I’m still 100% stock.

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  Рік тому

      I’ve never had success with VSA in - it’s always cut throttle immediately upon any tire spin. Less RPMs may help, which is what I was trying on the second run. I wish I had more time to further test with more runs, but I’ll be back to figure out what works best with this setup 👍

    • @BigKandRtv
      @BigKandRtv Рік тому +1

      I agree- try a lower RPM launch. Or look at tire rack and look at the Hoosier D.O.T. Drag Radial 2. Also, I could be wrong but in the first two seconds of the run it sounds like the ECM is pulling power. Listen to that bog at 2:22 to 2:24.

    Couple of thoughts Chad. Are you running a top or bottom motor mount? I have the 6 speed 2.0T mount on the top and a Hasport for the bottom. I went back to the stock bottom because the mild vibrations at idle annoyed me. It can be changed out in about 5 minutes. I cut a notch in the plastic undercover. I think you need the top one for sure. I run Phearable Stage 3 and experience low gear wheel spin. K Tuner Stage 2 w/ advanced VSA limited the spin by pulling a little timing. I know you are using a custom tune, so hear are my thoughts. I'd lower timing/limit boost in the lower gears until you can put the power to the ground. Can the Advanced VSA be utilized on your current tune? Phearable doesn't like advanced VSA. They feel it pulls timing too quick, but returns it too slowly. Another option would be to play with the TQ management parameters at the point where the tires are spinning. I bet the car is a beast on the street, but the track is a different animal. Drag radials, stiffer mount/mounts are probably necessary for maximum performance! I have a Hasport lower mount you can borrow to test if ya want! Im not using it right now!

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  Рік тому

      I don’t like motor mounts on a daily car, as I’m not fond of the vibration and noise. However, as so many have been pushing for it, I’ll be testing them out. 😉. Easily removed if they don’t work out 🤷‍♂️

    • @87gn93
      @87gn93 Рік тому

      @@TheLemonFactor You won't experience any vibrations from the Honda 6 speed mount. The Hasport lower vibrations at idle were a bit much. Once you start moving, they fade away. Everyone said the mount would settle in, but not enough for me. If I ever go our 1/8 mile track, I'll pop it in! I honestly think DRs or slicks is the only way to put all the power down w/o torque management tuning or boost by gear.

      My understanding is it's the same transmission as the TLX type S which puts out 355hp. Have heard however that 400lbft of torque is where clutches start to slip tho.

    No shame trap speed almost as high as those C8 vettes now

    This accord is ridiculously fast on paper and should be ridiculously fast from a roll race. It’s suppose to produce 400 whp. Why is the trap speed so low? I understand the time but that’s mostly because it’s FWD but the trap speed should be much higher at least 115-120mph when making 400whp???

    Chad,,,I think that's the tune even if your 0-60 is not good because of the traction and after that it should go like a bullet with that 400+ horsepower,,,,you should go with another reprogramming specialist is my point of view

      Considering his tuner has tuned pretty much all the fast accords, his best next move would be to connect with his tuner with a catalog to find out what’s wrong

    Just more proof it’s pointless, adding a lot of horsepower, to a fwd daily driver. You could run 500whp in that and you won’t get any more usable power than 300 would give

      It’s from a code P003A which is what you get if you’re wastegate actuator is out of spec. I worked on realigning it today… we’ll see what happens 🤷‍♂️
