Subarus are awesome vehicles... especially the Outback. I went through four Subaru station wagons, three of them Outbacks. Good for hauling around the family, the dog, go to the ski resort, go to the beach, general road trips, running errands, etc. The AWD system is amazing, the quality is superb, and they even have good power if you get the 6-cylinder version. We just wanted to move on to something new and we wanted to move out of the station wagon crowd. That said, the Outback works for everyone from the single, young, outdoorsy type to yuppies with kids. Edit: They are also very safe vehicles. They use the horizontal engine, which not only lowers the center of gravity for good handling...it also drops under the car in a frontal collision. Our family knows this all too well. My brother-in-law was saved because of this.
One reason I love the Forester is how versatile it is. Like a Swiss Army knife there is no role it can’t play. It may not be perfect for every role but it can be easily tailored to do so.

I like the gen1/2 forester the most. You can replace the back hatch with a completely different colour (like black) and from the rear, it looks like the car is black, but from all other sides it's (let's say ) red. So it's really easy to blast down roads going 100 meralspers and not get caught.
the bumper and the part under rear light will still be painted red then and it will just look like a mismatched rear hatch :) Edit: The part under the rear light only applies to 1st gen facelift version

Love everything about the my Subaru Forester, except one thing, the CVT transmission. I was told that the CVT transmission on the Forester was not the best but wanted to find out on my own. Unfortunately that is accurate. The transmission jerked a lot when accelerating. My Forester does not even have 100,000 miles and the transmission is gone. I love the Forester AWD performance but I will not be buying anotherone because of the transmission issues.

They control really well too, actually pulled the ABS fuse (so no stability control) on my 2015 in a snowey parking lot a couple years ago and still had to really work to get it to loose control. Even then, if I let go of the wheel and gave it a little gas, it would streighten out all on it's own!

Ok as a business owner I have suggestions for Evett’s after looking at the indie gogo and doing a google search to find their website (why is it not linked on the fundraiser?). Firstly they don’t sell on their website?!?! That’s the only way most sticks and bricks places like this stay alive. Most small retailers keep a storefront more for loyal customers and a sense of stability to the online ones than they do to make money. It also gives a place to keep the inventory sold online. In the fundraiser they target the landlord for raising the rent, call him names and make themselves look unprofessional. I understand they’re upset but your personal issues and opinions do not bleed into business ever. Besides that when the landlord sees it don’t you think he will be even more of a jerk? Stop renting! Use the campaign to purchase either the current space used or another one. You’ll have to pay taxes to the city but the advantages like getting increased set value year after year will more than make up for it especially if you get a building with other units to rent or who already have filled commercial units. This is what the campaign should be used for. The video created and posted to the campaign is not good enough. They should be focusing on the history of the place like a mini documentary. Start with the guy who opened it showing his military service through pictures and narration from his widow. There should be individual videos on his wife who still owns and operates it and the two employees who love the place. I’d also interview the kids that hang there and put them all in a video about how it’s like an after school program there where they stay off the streets and out of trouble actually learning skills. There’s plenty more I could add but I have work to do. I think they should pull the campaign down and make a better plan so they can accomplish their goal. I’d shop for a commercial building with multiple units and have that picked out to show people in the campaign trailer including the price. People don’t want perks they want to feel good about their donation. They want to know that what they are spending money to help with is actually going to matter. I’d be happy to help create a more detailed plan as social media, campaigns, videos, and more are what I do. If you guys are willing to film segments I could probably find time to edit them if needed. It seems like a place worth saving so let’s do it for the long term.

Had a 2nd gen Forester 5-speed ... think it was a 2006. Bought it out of guilt shortly after I bought my 2007 BMW M5 since after buying that I had to commute more so I needed something practical while the M5 sat home looking pretty. That Forester was one of the most fun around town cars i've ever owned and you're right ... cops never gave it a second glance! Unfortunately she ended up having some issues and was replaced by a used Prius about 2 years later. Look on the dealers face when I traded in a M5 and Prius at the same time made me smile :)

You could still get them with a manaul transmission until the 5th gen, my 2015 has a 6-speed and it's great fun!

I like the gen1/2 forester the most. You can replace the back hatch with a completely different colour (like black) and from the rear, it looks like the car is black, but from all other sides it's (let's say ) red. So it's really easy to blast down roads going 100 meralspers and not get caught.
the bumper and the part under rear light will still be painted red then and it will just look like a mismatched rear hatch :)

I have a 2003 forester, naturally aspirated, with 250,000 miles on it. Best car i ever drove. It's my daily, and oh so fun in Wisconsin's deep winters. I'm looking at getting another Subaru with a turbo tho. Something to mod out...
I was about to say I was thinking of buying one with that amount of mileage and that exact year at used car dealership but they asking 4000 for it I don’t think it’s worth that much but who knows 🤷🏽♂️ maybe the gaskets have been changed and the engine actually has a lot of life left… don’t know if I should commit to it or not?

Love everything about the my Subaru Forester, except one thing, the CVT transmission. I was told that the CVT transmission on the Forester was not the best but wanted to find out on my own. Unfortunately that is accurate. The transmission jerked a lot when accelerating. My Forester does not even have 100,000 miles and the transmission is gone. I love the Forester AWD performance but I will not be buying anotherone because of the transmission issues.

me and my 05 Fozzy XT still going strong at 198k w/ TLC. got some rust and pretty sketchy wiring at this point, but already have a fund going for full engine and chassis swap. this car is simply timeless, i'll never let it go. big ups to subaru and lesbians everywhere. : )

NPR made a segment on Suburu Advertising. Very interesting.
They control really well too, actually pulled the ABS fuse (so no stability control) on my 2015 in a snowey parking lot a couple years ago and still had to really work to get it to loose control. Even then, if I let go of the wheel and gave it a little gas, it would streighten out all on it's own!

Just bought my first car and believe it or not it is one of few 2004 forester xt's left in South Australia. decided to come back and watch this video and I'm glad I did!
Ok as a business owner I have suggestions for Evett’s after looking at the indie gogo and doing a google search to find their website (why is it not linked on the fundraiser?).
Firstly they don’t sell on their website?!?! That’s the only way most sticks and bricks places like this stay alive. Most small retailers keep a storefront more for loyal customers and a sense of stability to the online ones than they do to make money. It also gives a place to keep the inventory sold online.
In the fundraiser they target the landlord for raising the rent, call him names and make themselves look unprofessional. I understand they’re upset but your personal issues and opinions do not bleed into business ever. Besides that when the landlord sees it don’t you think he will be even more of a jerk?
Stop renting! Use the campaign to purchase either the current space used or another one. You’ll have to pay taxes to the city but the advantages like getting increased set value year after year will more than make up for it especially if you get a building with other units to rent or who already have filled commercial units. This is what the campaign should be used for.
The video created and posted to the campaign is not good enough. They should be focusing on the history of the place like a mini documentary. Start with the guy who opened it showing his military service through pictures and narration from his widow.
There should be individual videos on his wife who still owns and operates it and the two employees who love the place. I’d also interview the kids that hang there and put them all in a video about how it’s like an after school program there where they stay off the streets and out of trouble actually learning skills.
There’s plenty more I could add but I have work to do. I think they should pull the campaign down and make a better plan so they can accomplish their goal. I’d shop for a commercial building with multiple units and have that picked out to show people in the campaign trailer including the price.
People don’t want perks they want to feel good about their donation. They want to know that what they are spending money to help with is actually going to matter.
I’d be happy to help create a more detailed plan as social media, campaigns, videos, and more are what I do. If you guys are willing to film segments I could probably find time to edit them if needed.
It seems like a place worth saving so let’s do it for the long term.

Had a 2nd gen Forester 5-speed ... think it was a 2006. Bought it out of guilt shortly after I bought my 2007 BMW M5 since after buying that I had to commute more so I needed something practical while the M5 sat home looking pretty. That Forester was one of the most fun around town cars i've ever owned and you're right ... cops never gave it a second glance! Unfortunately she ended up having some issues and was replaced by a used Prius about 2 years later. Look on the dealers face when I traded in a M5 and Prius at the same time made me smile :)
