@@Ryanbmc4 businesses take chances. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. If no one took chances we'd not have virtually everything we do in our lives including this platform.
@RyanMercer they took chances when the channel was new. Doing what the algorithm says is popular isn't "taking chances" It's just ensuring you will eventually be outdated by doing the safest options. Unboxing videos and videos of people reacting to other videos became a major source of their content. I've heard people say that they needed to do that to keep in people's feeds, and that's just not true. There are massive creators that may put out one video a month or less.

I'm about 5 beers deep, I'm gonna take a crack at this, hopefully people will agree. automotive passion is like no other. it gives you a high like no other but can also kick you in the balls at the same time when working on it. the early days of donut media was honestly great, refreshing and a different version of top gear/ grand tour. it attracted average people into automotive history. it gave a purpose into what you were currently driving. it made you constructively think about how parts move, thought process, troubleshooting. it really tackled important ideas and or thoughts, like hi or low, did it matter if you spent more, or not. where was it important to spend money and where was it not. this show just like top gear or the grand tour inspired people into the automotive world. I want to thank you for your motivation to push forward, sleeping on porches to giving the general public content and helpful information that benefitted our lives. i also want to say i am proud of you for moving on. to not giving into corporate ideas and decided to venture off onto your own path and chase your own dreams. be your own boss. and push forward with new ideas. i truly believe you will be successful. talking about the history of stuff that the general public uses everyday and guiding them to what is best, why to enjoy x y and z. to give them a reason to give something another shot. i really believe this will be super helpful, informative, and fun to watch. I want to personally thank you for your time at donut media, and hopefully your future turns out to be brighter and happier than you ever thought. you have put your love into the media you wanted to create for us. its our time to put our love into you and what benefits and difference you have made in our lives. thank you. thank you for lofi music for helping me type this. and thank you all who took the time to read this novel. i don't comment much on anything but when it truly matters, when it can truly make a difference in somebodies happiness and allow them to push forward a little harder. i look forward to expressing my gratitude on what you have done for me and well worth the... well i lost track of time because I'm at 6 beers now. but well worth the time it took for me to type this. best of luck, and thank you for what you have done to this day. congratulation's on your new company and i hope it turns out stronger than ever. also thank you auto correct because there was a lot of red typing this lol. peace brother.

I used to work at Donut Media back when it was on Purdue Avenue. The memories I made there are unforgettable. It was my first time working in production and video editing as an intern, which really got my name out there. James, Tony, Jesse, Kirkham, Matt, Eddy, Nolan (and so many more) were so chill and cool to work with. This was back in 2017 when "Up to Speed" had just launched. Not many places offer an internship where you see Ryan Tuerck and Chris Forsberg parking their drift cars in the lobby, or have an F1 car parked on the street to see if it would get a ticket. Speaking of tickets, I remember getting one on my first day there, and my car got towed too. Lesson learned: don't park your car on the street in Los Angeles! Looking forward to seeing the content and future of Speeed. -Denzel
OG Science Garage guy here. That show came out around the same exact time I started school for Automotive Technology. It really helped my understanding. Soon after I was hooked on Up to Speed. Thank you so much James for the content throughout the years. You've changed car culture for me.
I got into donut because of science garage. I had just gotten my first car. And as the most expensive thing I owned at that time I figured I should learn everything there is to know about it. Certainly better than that Scotty guy with his Celica.

If you actually watched this video, you'd know the "original group" hasn't really been a thing for nearly a decade. People are always coming and going, you're just focusing on the tiny sliver you watched out of that decade of content, ignorant to constance of change.

@@Ryanbmc4donut got bought out and were forced to chase the algorithm
