Dan and the kids wanted me to try something new in the kitchen. Dan was scrolling the internet and came across a recipe for Mini Tater Tot burgers and everyone insisted I try them, which I did and they were so delicious. An added bonus is that they are also gluten-free for those who can't have bread but miss burgers. I also decided to take you on a walk around the farm, introduce you to some new babies and show you what Dan has been up to. Enjoy your time at little Mountain Ranch.

I found a therapist for a PTSD situation, through Better Help. The ONLY counselor or therapist I have ever gained anything from. EVER. And I am 55. It was an amazing surprise that I found someone that could give me valuable tools to work through my situation. I only used the service for a couple months, but by far the most valuable counseling I have ever received. Highly recommend for people like me, that felt like I would never find the right match of Therapist-Patient.
As an RN who has worked in a mental health hospital for over 43 years i would like to thank you for talking about betterhelp. So many people struggle and do not know where to turn so getting the word out really helps
Mental health is more important in my opinion than almost any other kind of health. I’m not one to use therapy often but whenever I have it’s been helpful.
When I was just a few months over a year old, my daddy had me outside getting me to say the names of all the critters.
When it came to a baby turkey, I said teepee, and he laughed really hard because I said everything else fairly well.
So daddy named that turkey Teepee and we never slaughtered him, he was my pet, well, one of them.
Before I was allowed to take care of a baby chick by myself, daddy give me an antique toy that was a small wind up bird and said if I took care of it and didn't tear it up, then he'd let me tend one myself.
It didn't go exactly as he planned because I wouldn't let nothing happen to that little bird.
So he kept his word and let me tend the baby chick I chose, it was a Rhode island red, and I literally took that poor chicken everywhere I went, including to the swing set on a double swing.
And daddy said he didn't think she liked being on that swing all the time, until when he saw me on the swing by myself and the little chick was up under me flapping her little wings and trying to jump up where I was, even though it was way too far for her to reach, so he gave me the go ahead to let her play on the swing with me.
When she got bigger and I was off in the house or somewheres else, she'd jump up on the swing, ride it out until it stopped swinging, jump off, then jump back up there and start all over again.
Daddy said I spoiled her, and I said he had told me I could raise her the way I wanted, he just laughed cause there was nothing more he could say.
Then one day, daddy says I've got something for you, hold out your hand, so I did and he placed a small egg in my hand and asked if I knew what it was, and I said it was a bantam egg, and he said no, it's your baby's first egg, and my eyes about bulged out of my head.
I thought something was wrong with her because she laid such a small egg, but that's when I learned their first eggs are usually small like that.
I still have that egg and the wind up bird in a display case over half a century later.
What a fun story! Thanks for sharing.
Super sweet story☺️

Thank you.
It nearly brought tears to my eyes remembering it, and even now.

We got 4 turkeys this year, and we were all so surprised how curious and friendly they are! They'll come right up to us when the chicks and ducklings we have run away.
We used to raise about 500 Cornish cross chicks a year. We did have some leg issues if we let the birds get too big. We would also keep back several birds with good legs and raise them up to about 12/13 lbs dressed. I actually liked these large birds better than any small turkey I’ve ever eaten!
Mini burgers are our favorite. Upgrade looks amazing. You definitely have a wonderful husband that can do so much. Thank you for sharing
I haven’t even finished your video .. but I needed to thank you for the on line therapy recommendation … I’m have been going through a lot these past few years and I started looking for therapists … the wait is LONG …. Plus it sounds like they match you up which is wonderful…thank you☀️
My pleasure!
Wow, what a crunch from that first bite!
What a cute idea, I bet you could even make the breakfast hash potatoes that are oblong for just a little bigger one.😊❤
Great idea!!
Oh my goodness those lambs following you are too cute.
All those roads will be fantastic during fire season.
You are so professional, Chelsea. Your viewers didn’t notice too much of the pain you were experiencing! Your strong personality is what keeps us all watching! Thank you! 😍🇨🇦
It was hard, and I appreciated so much the grace you all showed me. You are the best!
I love. Those little. Burgers what a fun thing for kids Chelsea I find u very knowledgeable and love the lambs following u have a blessed week. Week end
Love the sponsor today ❤ I’m glad you got the support you needed and I think it’s a great option for many people that can’t make it to an appointment for so many reasons. Thanks for all you do!
I have made the same experience with Cornish Cross; some of mine I let go all the way to 9 months. They got humongous (couldn't fit them into 2 gallon bags) and their breasts were larger than a turkey's; also, surprisingly, the meat did not get tough. Some of the ladies even laid eggs; I processed all the roosters first since they actually attempted to mount the ladies. I made sure that I kept moving the food and water sources so they didn't just lay around and I restricted the amount of food they had available.
What an awesome idea yum!! Nice to hear someone trustworthy can recommend Better Health- hope they sponsor you often and get the word out! Kudos to Dan for all his hard work!
I liked how Hazel said "Byyyye" at the end of the video. Such a polite lady😂
She's the sweetest.
These burgers look amazing! I also remember your loss about a year ago and I had such admiration for you being able to do videos. I know that must have been extremely difficult. God bless 😊
It looks sooo good. And thank you Chelsea for sampling your foods on camera. I really appreciate that. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ☦️ 🙏🏻 ❤️ 💙
Healing the body and the soul!
The tater burgers are a good idea. A thinner patty (or maybe a piece of ham) would make them excellent for the appetizer plate.
Also, mixing egg with the potatoes, you could probably make a full size burger.
Hearing those sheep just makes me happy! 🐑🐑
Enjoyed that one. Missed you for a while not been that great at the moment. But I just had to tell you what I always say super Dan. You would be lost without him Chelsea but the same goes for Dan. The super couple. So great to catch up with you guys again.
I raised turkeys and chickens. Turkeys are actually really smart, intelligent birds. As for my one turkey, she's always stealing the chicken eggs and she sits on them and she hatches the eggs 🥚. She doesn't care if they're her babies or not. Any baby turkeys or baby chickens? My one turkey would take over and come of the mama
Yum those little burgers looked adorable and delicious!
I must try on those burgers..... what a great idea. Just love your channel. Everything you do is with such love and respect.
Just beautiful 💚💚💚
How fun are those Tot Burgers genius!! Thank you I’ll be making those!!
Patricia
What a great idea! Our kids love potatoes any type of way, and I'm a gluten free mama, so this is a must try for me. ❤ Love how you seasoned the potatoes.
You are so welcome!
Thank You a perfect recipe for the 4th of July for my grandkids beautiful 😉😊👍🙏😔🙏💖🇺🇸
Tiny burgers look really fun and I ADORE crunch in almost every food.
Such a great visit with you & I could almost taste the beautiful little burgers! Thanks for sharing your progress around the homestead & the lovely views! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing your life with us! Looks like a fun ideas!😊
We live in Pennsylvania and raise both turkeys and cornish cross birds. I agree with you turkeys are smart. We have had a few leg issues with the chickens but nothing major. My husband feels it has to do a lot with the hatchery you use too. We have 2 we have ordered from and there are more issues when we have to order from one over the other. I also agree - the smell is the worst. Love watching your channel. The burgers looked amazing and good job Dan!!
I was just watching a UA-cam channel where the gentleman made. Philly cheese steak sliders. It made me thing about your sliders. It made me think about your tater tot sliders. I was wondering if you could bake off the potato mixture in a rimmed cookie sheet and when finished cut to size. No oil needed to fry, better health. He layered his filling then put back in oven to finish off. If using cheese it seemed as it melted to hold everything together. 1. Tater tot, 2. Filling, 3 another tater tot. Just an idea, happy Mother’s Day. The UA-cam site was Come site at my table, program was called Philly Cheesesteak sliders. Once you watch it, my exploration maybe hard to follow. Just the idea of baking items may save time and calories.
I love how you interact with your animals.
The sound of the crunch when you bit into the burger just made me want to make them immediately 😂
Makes my mouth water just to think about it!! Lol
I like how you made these little hamburgers.
I have been watching some of your older videos.
I am 70 years old and just now learning how to make bread. Ican not aford store bread anymore, or a mixer with a bread hook, so i do it by hand. I saw a video where you made egg salad and bread 5 years ago.
I am watchinga lot of videos. One says do it this way. Another says no this way.
I like how simply you made yours. Do you have a video explaing how you did it. Or know a good one to watch. Thank you for all the videos you make.
I’m sure I do somewhere, but I’ll make another one for you later this week.
Thank you
I just saw those. I am going to try BETTERhelp. That looks amazing. Please drop off at my house! Dan can do it all.
I love the babies. They are following you. The fence looks great.
So glad you good luck with therapist I lost a son 15 years ago tried a therapist and did not help met several times and just seemed I was doing more for myself on my own.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sometimes I think that loss can be so big that only time can help.
Thanks for sharing👍🌸👍🌸👍🌸
I'm so glad you are feeling better. Mental health therapy has been helpful in my life as well.
Those burgers looked delicious! Great idea. Good work Dan - looks great!! I agree with you 100% on the turkey's and cornish - I find that most times the reason people have trouble is because they have food in front of them all the time with limited activity. I split in.to two feeding with evening being smaller than morning. I have a couple turkeys I have had for 3 years and the toms weigh over 50 pounds -- I tried doing AI last year but that didn't go so well. Cornish cross, like you, I have had well over 10 pounds and in fact I have some I need to do still. The exercise is a big one when they get to that size though, or so I feel. I have also noticed a difference between hatcheries and between batches from same hatchery though - I think it depends on how the 7 generations were bred to develop the cornish cross chicks we get....just a feeling I have based on my experiences and the research I have done. However, It would be nice to not have to rely on the hatchery and so I am playing around with a few things for them both to remove the need to order .
Those mini burgers looked so cute and yummy
Awesome looking hamburgers. The chicks and turkeys are so cute. Have a beautifully awesome day.
I just found your channel today, watched a canning video then went to your page. Sub'd , liked and rang that bell! WHY? I'm 70 and grew up on 400 + acres w/6 siblings, 175 was tillable... we grew over 40 items and our root cellar held on average 2,000 quarts of everything we grew. we had neighbors that provided chickens & eggs & taters in trade for 1st choice of our fall harvest. Not only are you showing today's people how to do what was normal for almost everyone 100 yrs ago, but also giving some good memories... THX!!!
This made me day, thank you and welcome!
@@LittleMountainRanch It's my job to help encourage others, especially when they touch my heart!! May God Bless... pastor jim
I wish BetterHelp would accept insurance. Maybe that isn't a thing in Canada but it is in the US.
Thanks for sharing the scenery. And the cute animals. Neat idea for the burgers too.
I loved today's video. I like when you show what is going on on the farm.
Did I miss the video on how you manage your never ending kombucha in the 2 gallon jar?
Thanks for info!
The burgers look so good!!
Burgers took amazingly yummy.
Love seeing your land and animals
Love your videos. Watching from Manitoba Canada
Great job Dan! Blessings!
Yep !
Cute baby birds,
Thank you.
Oh my those little tator burgers look so fun & yummy! Since I don't have little kids, I can see making them a little bigger if you're making your own tater tots anyway.❤.
I was thinking the same thing! One thing I will say is that with the potato these are super filling.
Enjoyed the video 😊
Keep going up the road I wanna see.
Lol! Next time.
I wonder if you could air fry your tater tots. I quit deep frying years ago but my mouth watered when I saw those and heard that crunch. Yum!!
I have only raised Cornish cross twice, but I never lost one of them and never had any problems with their health either. I prefer the taste of CC to the Freedom Rangers and the fact that they grow so quickly, but they are kind of monsters. I took their feed away at night and I put their water on the other side of the run from the food so they would have to move around. I did butcher them at about 8 weeks because I was scared their legs would break, but it would be great not to have to do that so I could get larger birds. Thanks for that info.
I bet that would work great in a waffle iron. Looks fantastic.
I can't believe I never thought of that. I'm going out to get a mini waffle iron tomorrow!
I have Royal palms turkeys. They are so smart.
Yum! One of the sauces that we make here in Utah that is unique to us is Fry Sauce. It's just ketchup and mayo mixed together. It is SO good with fries and tater tots. Would be good on these burgers! You can add a little Sriracha for a kick or bbq sauce for more of a smokey flavor.❤
I got meat birds from a farmer who was late butchering them. When i was trying to part out the birds i thought my knives were dull. I couldn't cut thru the skin then when i tried to separate the thigh from the body it didn't move! I thought the bird was in full rigour. It took nearly 40 minutes to do a ten minute job. One thigh and drumstick weighed almost two pounds. Butchering as many as you have will make for a longday
Do put in the roads. On my quarter I have around 5km of old logging roads. They are great for getting around the property.
Yum
I’m going to try adding the Mayo and ketchup next time.. that’s going to give those burgers some good moisture that burgers usually lack, well my burgers if I use a lean ground beef. Thanks! My granddaughter is going to love these tots too.
Hi , Chelsea, I’ve watched you for quite a few years now. I’m from the UK. 1st I love your hair, it is so lovely, and 2nd could you do some vegetarian meals. Thank you x Lottie
Sure! I have a few recipes up my sleeve.
Chelsea you need a new cheese grater 😂 haha we just replaced ours it looked just like yours and cut me one day so i finally caved and bought one on amazon haha
Lol! I’ve needed one for 10 years now. I guess it’s time.
❤❤❤
OMG isn't that funny? You're in the Canadian mountains in t shirt and I am at the Mediterranean coast wearing jackets, turning the heat on in my house!!!
Everything is looking amazing. I’ll look into better help. Hopefully they take insurance.
Do you think baking the hash browns instead of frying would okay? The crunch wouldn't be the same but way less fat that way which is much better for me. Thanks for sharing! 😊
I think so!
Never had any of the issues you mentioned in over fifty years.
Some I heard of, but some I haven't.
I wonder if you could have baked the potatoes and burgers?
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Is that a cooked potatoe or raw please??? Many thanks🥰
Parboiled - just cooked to firm fork tenderness.
I notice you don't have an air fryer
How do you train your cats not to attack your chicken's and chicks...?
We’ve only even had one who showed any interest at all so we kept them covered for a few days and then he was fine. They seem to just now they aren’t for eating.
When my oldest son died, four years ago at age 25, for no reason (medical nor other), understanding who our Sovereign God was and is, us what not only helped me but also allowed joy to consume me.
There is truly nothing more helpful nor more important than having confidence in salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
This world is full of evil and sadness. Having hope in Jesus Christ makes this world pale in comparison and allows us, even in the midst of trials and hardships, to be able to have joy and glorify God through it all.
May you know this peace and comfort from Jesus Christ!❤️
I’m so sorry for such a tragic loss! I agree with you, Jesus can bring such joy in tragedy. At the same time, therapy can be such a help to metal health.
Are better health in great Britain. As I lost my mum and dad within 6 months of eachother. Allso 3 month after the death of my mum I lost my cousin only 49 and my aunt and godmother. I have had some help but it was only for 6 weeks as they were 8n high demand xxx
I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you have some friends or church for support.
Tator disks like Burger King has.
I didn't know that! We don't have Burger King where we live - do they make a burger out of them?
Will the red ants harm the cows?😊
No, the cows are smart enough not to strand in the pile
@@LittleMountainRanch good! I asked because one time, without knowing it, I must have been near a red ant area and the pain was phenomenal. I had to basically leave clothing there to get away from the assault 😊
If you put flour in those potatoes they are not gluten-free
You could put in gluten free flour.
I was very excited because it says gluten free but then you added flour so it cannot possibly be gluten free....🙁
Just use gluten free flour! Works great.
