I was inspired by Teagen @HalfBakedHarvestBlog to make a banana-salted caramel ice cake, and it was incredible! The crunchy, salty pretzel crust elevated it to a new level. I also decided to show you how I make my simple wheat bread recipe. You can use this recipe for white, wholewheat or a mix of flours. We also walked through the garden and did a little transplanting. I hope you enjoy coming along with me.

I just planted some Egyptian walking onions last year and they made it through the winter beautifully! And yesterday I found some Canadian meadow garlic growing next to the road, so I dug a little to bring home to grow in the garden. It’s delicious! I’m also growing another kind of perennial garlic, elephant garlic, garlic chives, garlic from the grocery store, leeks, shallots, red, white and yellow onions, and about 5 varieties of bunching onions. I absolutely love alliums!🧅

Hi Chelsea, have you by chance put that plastic bowl in the dishwasher? Because the dishwasher will do that to a lot of plastic. Hand washing can be safer for some plastic things. Annoying I know considering those so called products usually say they are dishwasher safe when they really are not.
I really enjoy your vlogs & watch them religiously. 😄

Ice cream cake looks amazing. Pretzel is a great idea. I purchased an ice cream maker a few years ago and boy it sure comes in handy. I don't however have incredible cream like you do. The baby birds look so happy and cozy. Your greenhouse is fantastic! Getting pretty exciting to start putting the gardens together. I can't wait. Cheers to all

My ice-cream recipe is cooked on the stove and then chilled and turned like your recipe. I've used the boxed ice-cream mixes and while they're good, to me they're just nowhere near as good and creamy as the cooked recipe I use. The ice-cream cake really looks and sounds delicious, I will have to make it.
All your plants are really looking good. I really enjoy your videos.

It's not the original company you have to worry about because if you grow the plants and save seeds It's no longer under their company's patents etc.
The thing you do need to check into is shipping laws for each province in Canada or USA regulations concerning seeds.
Those get tricky and can cause issues with the US Department of Agriculture,, because there are so many regulations concerning seeds plants etc and could incur huge fines or penalties for you

This is somewhat the same concept as “Strawberry pretzel” dessert I have made for years- I noticed there wasn’t any sugar to the crust!? The sugar, pretzels & butter all form a crust that is pre baked to set up that hardens the crust. I think I use maybe 3/4 cup of sugar or brown sugar- mix the crust & bake… you might have better luck! Looks delicious though ❤

I just started milking our Nigerian Dwarf dam. I found out that you can make ice cream from the milk alone because the butterfat can be as much as 10 1/2%. ND milk tastes beyond delicious!! Until you have tasted it you just cannot describe how wonderful it is!

    Hi 👋
I live in Sweden Where they do Ankarsrum mixer, and I have use this mixer for 30 years. (They change modell from time to time)
    I also have kitchenaid.
You don’t need to do the dough in a special way/order with the ingrediens , just do as you did with your kitchenaid
I see that you have your arm on Ankarsrum loose. I always have it little harder.
I also have all accessories for sausages and appelsouse and you just split the apples (No peel) and boil it 10 minits and drop it in the mashine and have applesauce on one side and trash on the other side of the Ankarsrum and I love it.
I also grow alot alot of flower and vegetabilies. But this year I have problem with my onions from seeds. They start to drys on the tops and drys more and more and dies. Hmmm, I try to understand What the problems is. I have never seen this before.
    Best Regards Helene in Sweden

Trying to learn how to make bread, i think my water was to hot. The recipt i use says to let it rise for three days in the fridge. When i pull it out of the glsss bowel it sticks to the bowel and looks stringy. It taste ok. So i will keep trying.

I don't believe I have ever come across the bread recipe that asks for the dough to rise for 3 days in the fridge. Is there a particular reason why you're choosing that recipe over just a regular rise or an overnight rise?

I forgot to write in my last text that 2 years ago I got ”potatoesonion”. It is realy realy difficult to found here. I dont know why it has this name, because it is not from the potatis but it’s grow in the same way. That is a smaller yellow onion that act like a Charlott-onion but it is round. (many in one plant) They are little smaller then a ordinary yellow onion but 5-6 grow in same plant and in the soil as Charlott-onion. They store very long time, mutch better then a ordinary onion do.
In Sweden We can’t by this in stores, just from person to person in maybe 70-80 years.
But if you need alot if onion in the food, then it is mutch small to peel. They are maybe 4-5 centimeter in diameter

I was watching 1870s Homestead and they put down the weed fabric for a row cover. They cut circular holes and in the last video said they only now have to pull a weed or two from around the base of the plant instead of all over the place around the plant. Have you ever considered trying it in one row as a weed barrier. It gets late on the top so nothing goes over it?
