- Okay we fitted and tried it and liked it. Yes for the LT77 and R380 gearboxes fitted in the Defender it is a good modification if fitted correctly. Slick shift is designed by Syncroworks Developments and presently in stock at Paddock Spares and Accessories.

Yes! just fitted mine today! works a treat.
Do you think this mod would cause the shifter to interfere with the air con tunnel.
Very good video
Having driven both LT77 and R380 Defenders on and off-road for many thousands of miles, I'm a bit perplexed by the need for this enhancement on an R380. Certainly the LT77 was very "truck-like" and I can see much room for improvement. But the R380 (and I have it in both defender and D2) shifts smoothly with two fingers. What's to improve?
Well if you are used to a Scania 4 series manual gearbox you would like this tight feel to the gearshift. Horses for courses really.
Hi, does it increases the gear stick height?
Excellent ... I think I'll have to be extra good and see if Santa really loves me!
Remember he knows if you are sleeping and he knows when you are awake....
***** Hmmm ... probably easier if I just go and buy one then...
Matt Allen yeh I think it's best I have seen some of his recordings :D

Ah ... right ... yes... erm ...
Oh look ... an eagle!
Where? .. oh that. Merry xmas chappy.
I'd like to add this mod thanks for the review. I seem to be currently having a selector problem. I like to shift into first with the clutch in. While slowing down from second gear. However it seems a tad clunky at the moment. I feel that I need to force it to go in. Any thoughts on the adjustment needed would be well received and appreciated.
Thanks mate
first is for starting off. It isn't really good to drop right down into first from second. If you have a selector problem going up from first to second then you may have a worn synchro hub slider. Either that of worn gear selector linkage. You didn't say if oyu had a defender or Discovery.
It is a defender 300tdi. There are moments that I feel if I don't down shift there isn't enough rpms in second to accelerate. She will chug out black smoke while trying to produce the rpms before second takes off in which time momentum is lost.
Sounds like you have some power loss issues with the engine. Black smoke is an indication of either lack of air in the induction side or pump timing or a combination of both
I wouldn't doubt there is some power loss seeing how I'm in Africa and have know idea how many km are really on the truck. The black smoke doesn't seem to occur unless I try and hammer on the pedal. The issue of shifting from 2nd to 1st happens when I am going slow enough where down shifting is needed but it feels notchy having to force It into first. If I'm sitting still I can go in and out of first without a problem.
Looks good, now to fix the problem of having to reach down to take off the handbrake and then driving a Defender might start to get comfortable.
You must be spoilt driving a Disco Matt?
Maybe if it was a V8 auto. ;-) My old Series 3 taught me about how uncomfortable a proper LR should be.
Matt Tester I remember those days!
If you have the time to worry about a non issue like this then you're going wrong somewhere further up the line.
I didn't think porn was allowed on UA-cam...
