I went through all this just to find out my Fuel tank cap wasn't tightly sealed after installing a new fuel pump😢 Once I tightened it and staretedthe car, the check engine light disappeared. Aside from that, the filler neck alone cost me around $132, but didn't come with the hoses, and from the looks of it, the hoses weren't created in a way to be removed from the old one so I put it back on and drove to my nearest auto parts store. The thicker hose that flows from the fuel tank its self was priced at $118😑. Thankfully I was able to get a full refund since the new fuel filler neck hadn't been installed😮💨
Replace the filler neck. Once the old ones off, shake it to see if its still in the neck. If not, it may have wandered into the tank. Not the end of the world. It wont make it past the fuel pump strainer
I have a 2010 Ford Escape and I put a bottle of that fuel additive to clean out my my fuel system and it leaked out everywhere on my tire on the ground my flapper is installed do I need to find a different bottle or what?
The purge valve may have pulled liquid fuel into the canister and clogged it. You could start by replacing the purge valve and canister. Call the dealer and see if you have an open recall for fuel tank deformation first
Your video for fuel filler replacement is misleading. You do not show the sensor tube as well as the filler hose removal and replacement. You should be ashamed of your self
Just think you should at least mention the fact that those have to be done as well. But your video did help and i appreciate your time to do the video. 😊
Thanks! Ben 🔧
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Are you able to reuse the hoses from the old one?
Could be better lighting but great thorough video non the less thank you ben
Great video if you could see it

Wow, hate to hear that. Maybe you can find a different brand that comes loaded with the hoses like the Motorcraft one
What if the flapper broke off and is sitting in there? Then what do you do?

I was thinking about going to the junk yard to get the part, do you know if the part matters if it’s for a 3.0 or a 2.5? I have a 2009 ford escape 3.0
I'm not sure, you can compare part numbers for each one on rock auto

You can get a funnel designed for capless fuel inlets. Then insert the funnel and pour the bottles in.
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thank you for responding my friend I will research that love your videos thank you so much
Does the fuel level in the tank matter to do this safely?
Hi. Some residual fuel may remain in the filler hose when removing, you can drain it into a pan. Or wait until you have half a tank or less to be safe
I have a 12 focus I can’t fill my tank up it keeps clicking like it’s full and my gas gauge reads full

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thank u
where did you get that neck from or do you have a part number
Possibly Dorman 507 877, you can check rock auto or call the dealer
What's a approx cost to have this part replaced and installed?
I don't remember for sure. I'm going to say $500 - $800 parts and labor
Got this whole piece for $55 on rock auto and the installation is easy enough you can probably do it yourself

I stay in a constant state of self-shame. Have a nice day!

@@christinaboleware8904 Glad it was helpful. This is one of my earlier videos - still was new at recording. My newer stuff is much better. Thanks!
